iPlod - UK Police Pocket Guide for Android
I thought this app was perfect I am currently on my royal military police course and instead of having to make crib cards to learn the sections verbatim I could just use this app to prepare myself for my exam.
It's a great app but needs more work, more needs adding to the PACE section and there's not enough information on Hate crime or kidnap extortion child abduction. However, a bonus to help with exams.
Not perfect. But a very useful app to have in your pocket.
Would like to see more in this section. About what is a place of safety and info about a section 135.
This is app is very good but does require an update. Particularly in respect of asb.
Nice app. Needs an update please.
Super read. Worth the price
Brilliant app
Makes life a lot easier for newbies. Best £5 I ever spent!
Very accessible.. One improvement I could suggest though is the use of a alphabetical scroll bar from top to bottom to get to desired letter of list quicker when list is very long (similar to functionality of application list on Samsung ii). Struggling to find improvements though. Job well done!
This is a great, app very easy to use and user friendly. Will this be updated any time soon? New dog laws etc...
I have been using iplod for many years now and have used it many times to reinforce my decision at incidents. The newly updated version has a some welcome additional pieces of legislation and definitions that will make life easier.
I highly recommend this app to colleagues. It's easy to navigate. Like having a Mini Blackstone's on your phone. Brilliant. Handy. Cannot praise it enough.
Finally updated the content. This is still good but there is now some competition such as pocket Sergeant.
The best so far
Quite a few topics missing. Appears to be nothing on licensing, wildlife and animal crime, legislation specific to children such as rules of employment, selling of tobacco, truancy etc., vagrancy
Awesome App, Great Point of Reference!! A Must!!
Using this for my course work
Ive just started using this app and have found it very informative, I look forward to using it at work, you can get very rusty. One thing I would like to be updated, if possible, is the CMM, many thanks.
As others have said, this does need updating. A lot of outdated information, and while the database is extensive, even some basic laws and have been forgotten about.
Decent app for anyone in the job, well thought out and easy to use. The only improvement I can think of would be having the court charge codes on the offence. Thanks.
Nigh on obsolete if it's not being updated, which it's not. Not in any way worth £5 if there is no new law changes being added.
Great app when it used to work on my old phone. I now have the one plus 2 and it runs on Android 5.1.1 with oxygen OS 2.0.2 and it doesnt open. Please fix
Great app for finding out info quickly and easily on the go. Great as a reference library and refresher when you have a minute spare.
Really useful for the less common offences and for remembering your points to prove.
Brilliant app that gets updated. Landscape would be nice on tablet, not marking it down for that though.
This is not a bad app for covering many offence definitions and points to prove. However, approach the content with caution as there are currently some bad errors. For example it states you can issue a PND to anyone over the age of 16 when in fact a PND should never be issued to anyone under the age of 18. Developers please review the content and update and I will increase my rating as the layout and ease of use is excellent, but at present it is not worth the price you are charging.
Very useful app but it needs to update some of the facts and legislation. This still shows Pnds as £50 and £80. This is outdated as the Pnds have increased to £60 and £90. S27 violent crime reduction act is still showing as in use yet the new s35 antisocial behaviour crime and policing act 2014 is what should be showing. If they're charging people £5 for this app then the administrator should keep it up to date with key changes in law that police use every day.
Update this or lose ME forever. Pocket sergeant is available now and more upto date
Would be great if it would allow for screen rotation and split screen.
This was initially a good reference tool and the app most student officers were aware of but it has not been updated for a very long. Therefore this means large parts of it are now out of date and irrelevant. As a police officer you need up to date laws, powers and procedures. Unfortunately this app no longer offers this. There are other (paid for) apps that are more up to date and in my opinion better value.
As people have mentioned for £5 we should be getting regular updates. There are better apps on the market now as this one is getting left behind!!
The App has not been updated since June 2013 and legislation has changed .
Easy to navigate and simple to read. Points to prove are a great checklist. Buy it now.
Great app, but... It does need updating in light of changes to ASB legislation with the new act in 2014 etc. Please please update to make it 5 star quality!
***** the developers work hard providing updates. Last one had 50 new things. The beat officer's companion of he 21st century. Please include Npia police professional framework!
Depite getting in touch with app creator and even having emailed the information new PENTIP (over a Year now) traffic offence codes/fines STILL not done.
Absolutely top notch app for UK police officers!
A very useful thing to have in your pocket, especially as a probie!

the only reason i can see for having this app, is if your a PC/PCSO/law student. it has come in handy many times, when i need to jog my memory for legislation. it is out-of-date with recent changes in legislation, but hay! the only info i would add is an explanation of "freeman on the land" as a LOT of my colleagues have no idea who they are.
