Cigar Scanner

Overall I love the app. I don't like that the scanner automatically adds a cigar to my journal without my approval as I usually want to enter it by the vitola, not just the brand and line. Also on Android Nougat a scan usually requires a reboot of the app thentakes a couple of minutes to make a guess, or more often than Not doesn't recognize the cigar. It was much faster and more accurate on iOS. But I can deal with both issues because as I said I really do enjoy the app. Edit: I would also love to be able to add images to manual entries not found at all in the db, as well as be able to rotate to the front camera to scan. Sometimes the position is just easier that way.

Overall it a good app but need a few improvements, the one that bothers me the most is that even though they will have a picture of the cigar band under band history it still won't have one next to the name at the top or in the cigar list. Also on the cigars that aren't in the database I would like to be able to add a picture there as well. But otherwise is been a good app

For users with large phones the camera button is in a very poor spot making steady photos tricky. It would be nice if it could be in a user chosen spot, or if the volume buttons worked as a shutter as in many applications.

Nice deep database, but that's where the fun stops. When you search/scan a cigar, it shows the band. In the journal and humidor sections the band is blank. The "share" feature sends a link to a blank page approximately 90% of the time, and when it does work it doesn't share my personal notes. I shouldn't need to copy/paste my notes to a text message outside the app, but until the bugs get worked out, that's what I have to do. Edit: Whatever fixes have been implemented have only created new bugs. The share feature no longer sends a dead link, it sends a picture of the landing page for that cigar. In the virtual humidor, the pictures of bands come up blank. I just downloaded another app, and if it is halfway functional I will be deleting this one.

Overall well done. Some clunky search issues and brand ratings don't carry to specific sizes added to the humidor. Other than that it's a decent app for keeping inventory, shopping list, and wish list organized. Edit - After a month in there are a few things I would love the developers to consider. 1. Share list feature 2. Add pictures of labels if different from stock or small batch 3. Wiki that is user contributed to fill in some of the missing '101' 4. Git rid of lists and create Virtual Humidors with the same labels

My first review was only 2 stars because it just wouldn't work. Now that I deleted it and had to start over it has been working good. Would be nice if I was able to use my flashlight

Like it overall. It helps me remember different cigars. I did ask for help identifying a Rocky Patell that wasn't listed. Two weeks and haven't heard back so this feature is non existent.

Not perfect but easy to use and helps keep track of tastes. Being able to assign a rating to manually entered cigars would be great! Also to be able to add cigars to the database, e.g. by providing a vendors link for review.

Good app, but it's missing a lot of no-brainer brands. I was surprised that the RP Edge B-52 was not in it, for instance. But it's the closest thing to Untappd for cigars that I've found, so I won't complain too much!

Seriously???? This is the best thing since slice bread. Its awesome to find smoke shops close by, figure out if the "knowledgable" sales person i the store is bs you or simply to keep track of the infite sea of names of cigar names that i smome and like and just cant remember.

Useless. Recognises maybe 10% of the cigars scanned.

It would be nice sort contents I'm my Humidor by dragging and dropping

Just found out about this about a week ago and all ready recommending it to friends. I especially like all the information on the different cigars. Helps me learn.

Great app! Finally I can ditch my notepad! One suggestion, move the navigation to the bottom...where my thumbs are.

Great app for keeping track of what I have in my humidor and reading other reviews but it crashes and shuts down every time I have tried clicking the camera to scan a cigar.

Great way of keeping up with what you smoke and the price. Love it!

Good app but after the latest update it deleted all of my scans and reviews, pretty disappointing.

Good app. Not always able to find your cigar with the scanner, but the search works perfect.

It doesn't see all of my cigars and when it's found the band is missing from the pic not cool

Good app

This app started out great but now I can't access anything. Seems like app is frozen or stuck. I really hate to uninstall because of all the cigars I logged into it. Will give it a little more time but growing impatient.

This app was good. It had a decent selection of brands, but not all nor the ability to add one yourself. The last update though has essentially locked it up. I can open the app but it's very slow, I mean verrrrrrrrry slow, then navigation is even worse. I also noticed that my humidor was duplicated for some reason, at least it wasn't deleted I guess.

I think the app would benefit from letting its users upload pictures of the cigar bands them selfs simply because there are a lot of cigars i scan that will come up but have no band which makes no sense. You have the cigar and its basic info yet no band picture. The ability to add cigars and there info not just notes. Idk what you guys did to my account but now i cant even access the app with out it glitching up and freezeing but when i log out it works just fine.

This app was awesome for helping me get to know my way around cigars, now for the past 3 weeks, I have not been able to access my journal. Very disappointed since I have an abundance of info and would rather not have to start over with another app. I'm giving you another week, then I delete.

I loved it when it worked. I'm waiting for the next update to fix the last update. I am almost ready to uninstall it but I hate losing all of the cigars I have saved. I'm still new to cigars and rely on this app alot. Hope it gets fixed soon.

This was my favorite cigar app, but all the cigars in my journal disappeared. I have the latest version. I tried logging out/in. And I tried the beta version, buy cigars never reappeared.

Loved this app, then things went awry. Hoping for that update soon...

Has yet been able to identify my sticks. Uninstalled.

Sure beats tha heck out of trying to keep up with bands in my wallet so i can keep track of likes and dislikes, cigars i don't want to buy again and the ones I do. Only problem I can identify right off is being able to scan my stoggies... (I suspect it has a lot to do with the cam on my older tablet). And I'm not able to rate any of my journal entries. My account is new so maybe it hasn't had time to be active for ratings privileges. Works good enough otherwise that I'd pay to keep it add free.

As far as what I wanted, a cigar journal, this app is amazing. I find it easy to use, good cigar database. That being said, it crashes semi frequently and sometimes won't load my journal sometimes (which I'm sure is because of Turbo 2), but that doesn't stop me from seeing the greatness of this app.

Recently had problems with an update that lost all of my history. An update to the update restored everything back to normal. Thanks Cigar Scanner for helping out.

With the update that brought back my scans, I go back to giving this 5 stars, love the app. - I really liked this app until the new update erased the cigars I had already scanned in and all their info... Very disappointed....

Even after the new update all of my cigar history is gone...

Quickly identifies most cigars and let's you keep a history of your favorite sticks and add personal notes. Sticks not picked up by the scanner are usually added quickly. The down side is the app can be unstable and crash at times. One time they identified one but when I got the notification it didn't add it to my scanned cigars like the first one did. Hope the kinks get worked out, I'm liking the idea of having a detailed history so it's easier to remember what I like.

Excellent app! I've had 7 others before this, and none came close. And the variety of tools is awesome. Only downfall is, when u scan a stick, it gives u several variations of that model, instead of just naming the one in ur hand, but it's still incredibly useful! I love it, and recommend it. Great way to keep track of sticks u like (add them to favorites), and sticks u don't like, so u don't buy them again.
