وبه التوفيق والهداية
قال الشيخ الإمام الحافظ، شيخ الإسلام، مفتي الأنام، بركة الزمان، محيى السنة، جمال الدين أبو الفرج عبد الرحمن بن علي بن محمد الخزرجي - رحمه الله تعالى - : الحمد لله الذي جعل الأعمار مواسم، يربح فيها ممتثل المراسم، ويخسر المضيع الحسير والحاسم. فهي موضوعة لبلوغ الأمل، ورفع الخلل. زائدة الأرباح لمن اتجر، مهلكة الأرواح لمن فجر، الحسنة بعشر أمثالها إلى سبعمائة ضعف وأكثر، والسيئة ترد المستقيم إلى حال.
وبهذا العمر اليسير يشتري الخلود الدائم في الجنان، والبقاء الذي لا ينقطع كبقاء الرحمن، ومن فرط في العمر وقع في الخسران.
فينبغي للعاقل أن يعرف قدر عمره، وأن ينظر لنفسه في أمره. فيغتنم ما يفوت استدراكه، فربما. بتضييعه هلاكه
