Calibre Cloud Pro for Android
My Calibre Library metadata is up to date and all the books have covers, Calibre Cloud Pro does a 97% job of cataloging them, misses some covers and metadata. My library is on my Google drive, all the books are ones I have legitimately purchased though stripped off the DRM and converted to epub. No matter how many times I clear the covers cache, or stop the app and clear cache and data, still fails to download the covers. What am I doing wrong?
I use this app all the time, I love it. It is very much worth the upgrade from free to pro versions. My only regret is there is not an iOS version of this app, so I can have the amazing functionality on all my devices! Great app!
Does not work with ownCloud 9.1 I have tried changing schemes (https/davs), creating a new user with a weak password, different formats for the URL, using URL to go directly to /remote.pho/webdav/path/to/Calibre(%20|+| )Library. No matter what, it always says "No Calibre Library Found". Seems to be unable to list files/directories even. Regular login attempts involved passing URL & pass from laptop to phone using QR code. Made dummy user with only a Calibre library directory and a password of foobar, which was typed in directly. This *DOES NOT* work with ownCloud. Remove it from description. It's false advertisement.
Does the job, but it freezes my Samsung S4 while it is downloading something. Emailed the dev over a year ago about it and got no response, nor was it patched out. Don't bother with this one, there are other Calibre+Dropbox apps that work better and haven't been abandoned.
Even though I have a butt... it still deserves 5 stars. I would like to decide how many books I want to see on the grid. This grid option gives me covers sizes that is too small on my Galaxy tablet. Please please please can you look into that? Thanks.
Currently the app downloads the book to the downloads directory. It would be better to be able to save it directly to the desired directory for example KINDLE.
I'm not sure if it's my device updating to Lollipop, but I have tried multiple times and can no longer download or open from the app. Too bad...used to love it.
Pros: rock solid as advertised, works well with Dropbox and eBook readers, respects downloaded cover art in Calibre. Cons: filtering options weak (no tags is particularly sad), design it too tap heavy (3 taps to download).
I have a huge ebook collection that I can access with any of my devices thanks to this app. And this gives me the best of both worlds by letting me have one library to maintain on my Dropbox space, sync annotations (with dropsync) and still pick what reader I want to use. I like aldiko or moon+ for fiction, but Montano for its awesome annotating capabilities for all my scholarly reading. Perfection would be being able to sort and view by category or tag and search by author. When you have hundreds of books and articles seeing one massive title list is pretty overwhelming. Add that and it will be perfect!!!
Have sent error messages to author, no response in over 6 months. Initially rated 5 stars, but I can't give it any love if it doesn't work.
Great application! It works fine!
Used to be good, i had it for year or so but recently it just stop working on all of my devices....
Worked fine under KitKat. Crashes to desktop under lollipop
I really like this app. It works very well. No extra unnecessary features to clutter up the UI. I love the fact that I can access my calibe libraries that are stored on my Google Drive or on Dropbox. I just have one request. I wish Copy or Mega support was included please.
Would be great if grouping could be differently
Finally an Calibre Android Client that lets you wirelessly access books
At least using webdav, when downloading a file, it freezes android until the download completes. Occasionally, Android restarts. Trying a downloading more files, the system might recover, cpu will heat up and the battery will drain. Too unstable to be useful.
(ETA: no update in over a year now, another star off for apathetic developer. )lack of ability to search by series is vexing. Also, when listing books by series any number after the decimal point is ignored, so if I have a book 0.5 there is no number at all, and say a book 1.5 would be listed as Book 1. The app would be practically perfect if those glitches were corrected. No response from the dev.
What an awesome app! Before you use it, you need to set up your calibre library properly. It MUST be in one of the three cloud services supported by this app. Mine is in Dropbox. I literally opened this app, selected the Dropbox folder my calibre library lives in, and all of my ebooks showed up immediately. Brilliant app. I bought the paid version seconds after trying the free version.
I like the app but I noticed it slowed the download speed a lot compared to downloading via the Google Drive app. Large files (PDF) are impossible to download without putting the system into a hanged state
Even though I have a butt... it still deserves 5 stars. I would like to decide how many books I want to see on the grid. This grid option gives me covers sizes that is too small on my Galaxy tablet. Please please please can you look into that? Thanks.
I use the pro option of having my full library locaclly. Only thing is, it does not show all the metedata when looking at a book's data. Just a few bits of info. The app has not been updated since May of 2014 (as of Dec 30, 2014) so perhaps it is no longer in active development.
Great interface, easy to set up (as long as you read the instructions
...use it with Dropbox. One item though for older eyes...would be great if the fonts could be sizable...
Great app. Would be nice if a stacking(by author, series) option was added.
I installed it, kept crashing, so uninstalled it and reinstalled. Then, when I go to connect to Dropbox it keeps asking me to authorize it when it is already authorized. Haven't been able to use it and want a refund.
Great interface, works well and a good price. I would've thought a batch download or offline sync function would be essential EDIT - no longer works at all - hangs at downloading books even though it updates the library. Why is it so hard to get Calibre to play nice with Android and the Cloud?
I've been waiting for something like this for years! I always decrypt and store my ebooks in Dropbox via Calibre, so this is perfect.
I bought this for the sole purpose of sending a 300 MB book to my Kindle cloud so that I could sync reading between devices. I haven't found a way to do this other than by emailing to my kindle account, but Gmails smtp server refuse that kind of file size. So the pro version of this app promised to do send to Kindle and send to Play books. Neither works at all. Send to Play books downloads the book and opens the Play Books app but the book isn't there. Same with send to Kindle.
The app works very well, but needs a tag and author browser to be complete, not just search.
Would love ftp support, save me from mounting an ssh folder locally :-)
This app is a must have if you use Calibre as much as I do. I have a significant 300 - 500 book library on my Vista system running Calibre. Run the Calibre host on a pc on the network placing the library somewhere on the cloud (secure), combine 'cloud' app and a good eBook reader on your android platform and you have a powerful system for managing and reading eBooks on both your android and Windows devices.
If you keep you calibre database of books in the cloud, this is an excellent way to get it.
This is my go-to app for accessing my Calibre library! I keep this app on my phone and can send a new book from my library to my Kindle Paperwhite (or read it on the phone) as soon as I finish one. Speed is great, the Compact Grid is very slick, and I really like the new send-to kindle features that allow you to choose the device! I'll give it 5 stars, but I really wish I could search by series.
At last, all the hard work of categorizing and labeling my ePub's paid of. Took me a while to get the correct url to connect via WebDav to my synology NAS but now it's working smoothly.
Ben wanting exactly this for so long now. Amazing!
Does exactly what it says. Please add One drive cloud support though...
I have been looking for something like Calibre Cloud for a LONG time! I was so happy to find this app and it does exactly what it promises. HOWEVER, I have had a few issues with this app. Missing covers that are perfectly fine and show in Calibre on PC do not show in the cloud app. I have tried clearing cache in the app settings as well as clearing data in Settings and still have trouble with missing covers. Also, I have had trouble with uploading books to Google Play Books from time to time with numerous failed attempts before my book is finally uploaded. I've even had a few problems with it sending a requested book to Moon Reader Pro, so IDK what is with that. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and use of this app. I deducted one star each for the above problems to form my overall rating. I highly recommend this app even with the glitches and I look forward to using Calibre Cloud for a LONG time!
This app is clean and easy to use. It does exactly what I require and did so beautifully. The only annoyance is that it requires full Dropbox access (if you store your Calibre library in Dropbox) but that is caused by Dropbox not allowing more fine gained access. A great app that is worth upgrading to the pro version to remove ads and support the excellent developers.

Instead of just looking at a list of books in Dropbox, I can see the cover, read the description and hit download and open in Moon Reader Pro. This is the only Calibre library app I know of that let's you sync using Dropbox or Drive over your data connection instead of just Wi-Fi. That means I can get to my library from anywhere. Love it!
