Calibre Cloud for Android
I already had my calibre library in Google Drive. I wanted an interface using which I could search easily unlike the Drive app which just shows the folder structure. One complaint though, does not search using name of series.
The idea is good, but the is very bad. When you download a file it freezes all my system until the download is complete. Also, 'open with' button does not work. And when i click on an icon (pdf or fb2) it downloads the file again every time i press the button.
So far, it seems to be really good. I have 1250 books in my Calibre Library, and this app is very fast, with no visible delays in search or display. I use Moon+ Reader, which will download books from my Calibre Library, but has no setting for where to download and then has some problems importing books (at least recently). This solves that problem by downloading into whatever directory I want, then I can import into Moon+. Also, Moon+ only downloads easily from my computer's Calibre server, not Dropbox. I just wish this app would collapse the author view into either single letters of the alphabet, or smaller groups, then expand the group on demand to avoid scrolling through a giant long list (ie, click on either "A", or "ABC", to find all authors starting with "A".
Great app. Synced to dropbox makes it easy use. The only disadvantage no tags or custom columns
This works great. I have a large library on Google Drive so when I downloaded the app it did not load up by right away. I almost uninstalled it but left it for awhile. Now it shows everything. I am pairing it up with my favorite ebook reader FBReader.
I don't see what's so great about this app. It downloads the book, and then ...?
This app is perfect. All of my books were already in box. I just needed a seamless way to access them on the go. Perfect.
I thought I would be able to access my personal calibre server with this. The only server configuration options are for Box, DropBox, and Google Drive. Apparently Pro Version provides what I need.
When downloading my Galaxy tab a becomes unresponsive. Nice idea but implementation had put me off.
Not sure why so many negative comments about the app.Excellent app and does what it proclaims. One tip, please wait for the Dropbox or Cloud sync to complete before looking for calibre library.
Very useful app but I can't see the icons in the top bar because it is cream and the text is off white. Any suggestions to change this appreciated.
The app crushes every time I try to link it to Dropbox.
Please also add onedrive support. Thanks
I'm giving 4 star because of free books. Search engine is pretty bad really very bad.
It'd be great if this app offered support for Amazon Clouds. I have a HUGE ebook library (well over 100 gbs). To support that size a library I have to pay $10.00 monthly via googledrive, box, or dropbox. With the Amazon cloud I'm only paying $60 a year for unlimited storage.
I really like this program. This is a quick note to the developers to let them know that I'll buy the pro version as soon as HP My Cloud is an option. This feature will help me more than Dropbox due to the size of some of my libraries. Thanks!
Found my Dropbox storage with hardly any input from me.
Why do I keep getting "Download failed" ?
The download function freaks my tablet out! If I do open it qorks fine but download not so much. Also, how about allow me to access the calibre library on my WD Cloud drive!? I wonder if this works on pro?
Hangs a lot and takes forever to load and then won't load the most recent books stored in my Dropbox. Would never upgrade to the paid version because the free version is so crappy. You people really need to up your game or get out of the business.
It's awesome, but I can't access my library the way I would like to be able to. I have specific custom columns and have yet to find a way via an companion app to be able to filter by this column.
Unlike other apps this gives me a nice bookshelf view of all my books in Dropbox, and with the pro version it can read my local files. Very nice app
Exactly what I needed for my library!
Just what I was looking for! Thank you! :)
All the book descriptions are white text on a light background ?

Like some other people I had a hard time figuring out how this app is supposed to work. The Drop Box library takes forever to show books which sucks. I'd rather use an app like Aldiko where I can control which ebooks I download, where to store them and make my own seperate library folders for better organization .
To move your library to Dropbox, Box, or Google Drive just open Calibre, select "Switch/create Library" from the menu, Select an empty folder in your Dropbox, Box, or Google Drive folder, and choose the "Move current library to new location" option. Please wait until the library is fully synchronized with Dropbox before attempting to use with Calibre Cloud. If you encounter problems with changes made in Calibre not appearing in Calibre Cloud try closing Calibre to make Dropbox sync the changes. If you hav

Excellent app works exactly as i wouls expect, would love to see the books ratings as something I could filter by. also, would like to have filters for books :)
Like others I could not figure out how to read a book. You need 1 or more EPUB readers on your tablet. Then you select the book you want to read in CALIBRE CLOUD, then under the cover picture there will be an EPUB symbol. Touch the 3 dots in the lower right of the corner of the EPUB symbol and it will bring up a drop down menu, touch OPEN WITH.... It will bring up a list of your EPUB READER APPs , select the one you want to store the book in and read with.
What an awesome app! Before you use it, you need to set up your calibre library properly. It MUST be in one of the three cloud services supported by this app. Mine is in Dropbox. I literally opened this app, selected the Dropbox folder my calibre library lives in, and all of my ebooks showed up immediately. Brilliant app. I'm buying the paid version right now.
Took me just a couple of seconds setting up all together. I just followed developper's site instructions. If Dropbox hasn't buidup mediabase.db this app won't be able to swicht on... that simple as it is.
For those having trouble using this, did you take note to copy the Calibre library database files to Dropbox along with your eBook files? I couldn't get this to work until I copied them as well. Check out the link Calibre Cloud has in the description! ☝
So good! So easy to use! Thank you, thank you, thank you. One small request - how about adding OneDrive to the mix?
Running Calibre on my dated 64 bit Windows Vista system, running this app on HTC One M8, Calibre library hosted on file hosting site, after testing free version will be purchasing paid version for added features but mostly to support development of the entire Calibre software library. Must have app if u have a Calibre eBook library!
Great bit of software, highlights the KitKat SD card permissions debacle though - shame on you Google. Please add support for MS OneDrive though. Any chance of different 'shelf' backgrounds - I like wooden shelves... just bought the pro version anyway :)
Updates after library changes VERY slowly. Good idea poorly executed.

This is a terrific concept however you cannot think cloud without personalized solutions. Everyone knows storage solutions are heading in one primary direction: the cloud. This application needs support with other technologies not just corporate ones. TLDR; where is owncloud support? Score changes when this changes.
