Instacart: Grocery Delivery for Android
Love, love, love the usability of the app. It doesn't have all the items from Whole Foods. Need to work on updating all the sku's.
Great idea but lots of room for improvement. Many items in store are missing on app. Also I like the idea of being able to make lists but when creating a list of items (for ex hamburgers) to streamline ordering in the future, the list automatically changes some items like the wheat buns for gluten free buns of a different brand and celery for iceberg lettuce. I've never had celery on a burger and I understand how items can get substituted based on availability but the preferred items on the list shouldn't be substituted, only in the cart if substitutions are allowed.
It's missing some items that the store has. For example, I'm a single guy. I don't need 32oz of green beans in a package. I know that Meijer carries a smaller package, and it's not one of the options available. You can place a special order, but it's difficult to convey exactly what you're looking for, when there are 30 different kinds of green bean options. Just one example. Other than that, the service is great. They've never been late for a delivery, and the people who deliver have always been pleasant.
As a busy working mom, this is the only way to shop these days. Yeah, it's an added cost to the weekly grocery bill with the annual fee and service fees, averaged out for our family it's about $10 - $12 more per shopping trip. But an hour of my time is worth way more than that. We use it about 2 times /week..well worth it!
I think the app works well and overall i enjoy the service. My complaint is that this service has an annual fee, service fee, and then tip on top..... I am willing to pay for convenience, but i feel like all of these fees are over the top and the service is not worth it when there is curbside delivery available for only $5.
I really like how quickly I can get my groceries but I have had some issues with a few orders. Once a shopper replaced multiple items with more expansive items. How Instacart responded quickly to the issue. I do however think that the shoppers should submit a copy of the store receipt so that we get charged correctly when items are miss priced in there app. I'm also not a big fan of how long it takes then to charge my card after the pre-authorization drops off. Overall I really like what they are trying to do. There just needs to be a few tweaks made.
I was excited when Publix started doing delivery and decided to try it out. The prices on the app are $1 to $2 higher than the prices in the store. Half of the things I ordered from the app weren't even available in the store when the shopper went to fulfill the order. It would have been cheaper and quicker for me to just go to the store myself and get the things I need. Edited: The app advertises the sales from the store. When I added some bogos to my cart, it applied the discount. When the shopper completed the shopping, it charges me for both items instead of getting one free.
The app itself is ok, but the service is questionable to say the least... Advertised free delivery is not really free since each order incurs service charge and optional tips. Plus I have no words in regards to item replacement... I've ordered ground pork, it was not available so the shopper replaced it with ground beef, pork, and veal. Not only I had to pay 50% more for the item, I also got 66% less of the product I ordered and the rest - goes to waste. Thus I'm deleting the app and not using the service again
Twice I've tried to use this app and apply a promo code. Said it had issues with my info so went back to adjust or double check and then my promo code was gone. After spending the time picking out items, putting in my info and then to loose my promo code... never using this app again.
I received rotten, leaking grapefruit in my last order and hardly anything was done to rectify this issue despite my emails. I paid a service charge, delivery charge, and tip (none of which was refunded or adjusted) yet I received rotten produce that dripped all over my other groceries. It was disgusting and the customer service was non-existent. I've used this service a few times before, but I won't be using this app or service again.
It would be nice if you could contact the driver if they change a set delivery time to insist on the original time. Alternatively, maybe a box to check saying whether timing matters. If I can't run home, the groceries end up sitting out in the TX sun.
It overcharges you on substitutions if they're on sale. I bought an item that was on sale, multiple of them in different flavors, and when substituted even though it showed the sale price during substitution I was charged the non sale price on just those items. So I paid double price for some items in my cart when I got the sale price on that exact item.
There was no free trial the 1st time. The charged me a service fee. Then wanted a tip on top of the service fee. Then a week later they charged me $149.00 for no reason. And stayed they do it automatically
App works great. I just wish they would update it more frequently. They don't have a lot of stuff that I know the store has in stock. The shoppers don't seem super great at picking out produce. I've gotten moldy or damaged produce that I couldn't use more than once.
I would give more stars but the fact they charge you $149 with out even approving the sign up is ridiculous. It's happened to me twice now. They are very good at reversing without arguing but the charge shouldn't happen regardless
*UPDATE* I have been instacart you user for a little over a year and I really enjoy their service. The part that I really like is the same day delivery and also how you can get different things delivered to you from different stores. I am very happy with the convenience thanks Instacart.
The app is easy to use and the convenience can't be beat! The search function could use a little work, I don't like having to go back to the home page to clear it out and start a new search... Unless I'm doing something wrong and it's user error....
Instacart is very easy to use. It is just a little expensive to use all the time in my opinion. However, if you use it once in a while it is so convenient. The shoppers really try to make your order complete as possible
App prices should reflect currently advanced. Pictures do not match description. i.e. Polish Ham is titled Tonys Finer Foods USDA Choice Sirloin Tip Roast >: l
The app (and the website) would not add my credit card. Checked with the bank and there is no reason the card shouldn't work. Have logged out, cleared history, etc. I've added discounted things to the cart, only to go back and see that the discount disappeared. Removed and readded item, still no discount in the cart. It's a great idea, I'd use this often if it worked but it doesn't.
I don't mind grocery shopping but since I had my baby boy shopping is a pain, to push a stroller and a cart so this saves my sanity! And I love that they send you a picture of who is shopping for you!
app worked initially, now it says "internet connection offline" even though I'm connected to WiFi. have to use the mobile site. s7 edge. annoying.
It's super convinent for someone like me who doesn't have a car and needs to get groceries. Easy to navigate. Some times it doesn't always update on the app, but I still get texts, which is nice.
Very easy to use. Very snappy on loading up different items as you search and add to your cart . Have not experienced in a crashes lag or anything else to note. Just really easy to use making my experience just as good as being on a desktop
This app/service saves me a ton of time. So convenient for both moms and busy professionals alike. They even listened to my suggestions and added a vital feature to make the experience even better. My shoppers have been pn point and very very freindly. Keep up the good work with this fab app.
The app is great, I just wish that I could add instructions. For example...I buy chicken legs by quantity instead of weight. Otherwise, I have enjoyed using this app...there is human error on both ends sometimes but that's just the nature of it.
Reporting to Texas board of safety and sanitation. Driver didn't even bother to knock. Set cold food items on the ground outside and left (100° day), all foods were melted. Missing items I was charged for. Instacart manager refunded but had a total 'i don't care' attitude.
Made my day a littler easier! wish there was a way to not have to purchse addtnl bags. would easily trade out bags for future credit/use.
I have only used this service once. I love the concept, and the convenience. However, I was brought rotten strawberries. I'm trying again, as I assume it was a lack of experience on the shopper's part. I wish there were more stores participating in this service.
Ordered a few times and paid $99 fee for waived delivery fee over $35. Orders have arrived too early, have had items replaced without my approval, the prices are incorrect on their website. I ordered cherries which are $2.99 /lb at whole foods but on the app show $5.49/lb. One order the cold food arrived at room temperature. The customer support has been another issue itself with email correspondence which they clearly state they're going to resolve the issue and limit email communication asap. Which sounds fine, but in reality they brush their customers off. I googled them and saw their employee review score below 2 stars. While the idea is cool, the execution is terrible. Waiting to see what Amazon comes up with the whole foods takeover.
App fine...service not. Shoppers can pad your bill by upwardly adjusting weights on produce and meat. They only need your approval to sub a different product. Customer service is horrible
The app crashes constantly. I'd give it 5 stars if I could actually use it again.
Grocery shopping gives me the worst anxiety and this is so convenient and between Target, Cub, and Whole Foods has everything I need. So happy!
Easy to use, but it's a little difficult filtering products. Sometimes products show up under the wrong category. For example they show onions under the fresh fruit category.
I used to love Instacart! it integrated with my Yummly recipes and was all so easy. They made changes I am bummed about: 1. They made the service charge default and the tip not default. The people who work for them get stiffed and some vague service charge gets added. you can easily change it, but that was the first moment I felt minor disapproval. But I kept using it and giving more tip. 2. But now when it imports my Yummly list, Instacart selects everything for me (probably the most expensive option) instead of letting me scroll through all the options and choose. I might be able to figure it out but I don't have time with two kids climbing on me. too difficult to use/not worth it anymore!
First order, poor, but instacart is necessary. NEEDS to ID customers who reject substitutes!
As a customer, your experience depends almost entirely on the quality of your shopper, but you have no influence over the actions of said shopper. If you decide to specify a specific replacement for an item that the shopper could not find, you have no guarantee that the shopper spends any effort finding the replacement.
Better than Amazon Fresh. A little expensive but considering you are getting a personal shopper, it's well worth it. The app itself is pretty flawless.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! I felt like the prices were high. I asked to see the receipt from HEB from the driver. This service overcharged for every item. I emailed them and they are trying to state that the printed receipt from the store is not accurate. I am disbuting the charges with my bank. Dont get robbed like i did. Stay away!!!

Be careful with the free trial of their Express, they may charge you a day ahead of when they're supposed to.
