Innovative: Learn 34 Languages for Android
Fantastic app for storing your lessons while on the move, love the access to the notes and vocab. just wish you could view your dashboard and mark courses as cleared without being connected to the Internet. loved the format of the lessons page everything well separated and a progress bar, but as soon as it's in your library it's a free for all in miscellaneous sub section. it would be wonderful if your library had the same structure as lessons page but not dependent on a connection. and it updates the two versions sync each other when connected. would also be great to have the flashcards on mobile. otherwise the app is fantastic and the issues I have can be dealt with simply by using the site in a browser. ALL THAT BEING SAID. THIS APP IS AMAZING!!ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND USE IT EVERYDAY!!
I downloaded the app on my Samsung tablet and logged into the Japanese pod with my Premium membership. However, when I attempt to view a video all I get is audio, no picture. Furthermore, when I tried to download video files, they say they are downloaded but they never show up in my download folder or in my download history. Can't find them anywhere! 3 emails to company, no reply yet. Very disappointing!
Lessons are unorganized and largely useless due to the amount of chatter from hosts. Also it auto debited me when I open the app for the first time in a few months. There was no prompt, just an email saying it would be $240 for 2 more years. Absolutely done with this app.
I use talkback on my android device. TalkBack helps me to use my phone without sighted assistance. And this app works extremely well with talkback minus a few things. None of the things are major. But one I hit mark to complete. And currently I can't tell which lessons I hit mark to complete on and which I did not. I am very pleased with the innovative language learning app in general.
I find it is better used to immerse yourself in the skill / structures / themes after you have studied them somewhere else. I would struggle using only pod 101 podcasts for instruction, but that's me. If you are an oral learner, this could be ideal.
A really great application. I have been researching for an App that can teach me grammer, vocabulary and proper speaking, and I finally found the one. However, it crashes a lot. Almost each time after I played a video, it still freeze and stop responding. If the App developer can fix this bug, i'd be gladly give this a 5 star.
Does not automatically go from one lesson to the next, you need to manually click to it which is not good for using in the car. And each lesson has the same forty five second intro, which is very repetitive after several lessons. The lessons are good, they explain things well, but I do wish they put more phrases in each lesson, and less repeating of the same weird we learned in earlier lessons. Overall it's pretty good.
Having a listening and language learning app that stops playing literally every time you get a notification is complete garbage design. On top of that there are little to no options in the config for settinp up 'play while minimized' or 'continuous play'. This app looks and feels like it was designed for the app market of 10 years ago. Total crap.
I didn't think I'd enjoy the subscription. But its the best money ive paid so far to learn korean. East fun and interesting. Way better than sitting in some dank classroom with boring people.
*This app is extremely helpful in helping you learn a language But...* they are pushing you for money! I absolutely despise that you have to upgrade to a basic pass to even LEARN a language! And plus, getting people to buy premium and premium + anyway!! Change it now
I've been using to learn Russian and recently succumbed to upgrading. This source is just so useful unlike Duolingo or Babbel as it focusses on listening like in the real world rather than playing silly childish games. Very realistic and professional tool
Learning Japanese. I like how everything is broken down. I used to speak Japanese Natively but I moved to America and didn't get to speak it as much once I moved. Now I'm re-picking up words I used often & my sentence structures are much better now.
The app is a companion to the premium subscription. The content is well-organized and the really support learning. I only wish the app could get an interface refresh because, while still very useful and valuable, the UI design is outdated.
Good for practicing listening. Premium flash cards are a nice bonus. I was a little disappointed in the premium plus; the bombardment with assignments and reminders made it very difficult to keep track of what I was supposed to be doing and I eventually gave up on it.
Content is enjoyable and helpful. Presentation is a bit disjointed as lessons don't build on one another. App functions well. .pdfs don't reliably open but I'm not certain that's not an issue with my device.
It doesn't look like a professional app, to be honest. I think it could use an update in the design. Other than that, it's fine. I use it mainly to download lessons for later offline watching.
I paid for it and it's not even a little interactive. It's just a bunch of SD quality video with 1 page PDF transcriptions. There's no exercises, there's no way to monitor your progress, basically you are paying for free YouTube content.
I take one star off because the lessons sometimes spend more time on semi useless chit-chatting than the main grammar point. I'd much rather hear many different example sentences and common mistakes using the new vocab and grammar. I take one more star off because the app sometimes freezes and won't restart an audio clip Other than that, it's pretty nice.
It messes up sometimes if I put the app in the background and re-open it. Aside from that, best app I've seen as of now for learning Japanese
I use Japanesepod101. The content is great, 5/5, but the app itself is horrendous. It crashes constantly. You can't select another audio track if one is already playing. You can do ANYTHING offline.
I am enjoying learning a new language... It may take my older brain a bit longer to connect the synapses, but this is inexpensive enough that I'll be able to afford to continue my lessons as long as needed
This is for serious learners only, costs several $hundreds a year to subscribe. And boy do they hound you daily to sign up. The high sales pressure turned me away.
I am using this app to learn hebrew and until now is going pretty well. If you give some time of your day and make the right practice you have very good results. Good job guys !!!
Well designed app except when downloading off files; it defaults to using the internal storage which is limited on many android file systems (as opposed to the SD card) - this really hampers the ability to use the app for offline podcast listening.
I wish there was a button to slow down the phrases of speech for example "Konichiwa" should be slower to understand every sound. Despite how fast native Japanese speakers talk.
This app is sooo cool i already know how to say thank you in 3 diffrent ways in 2 days like woowwwwww (im normaly slow at knowing languegessssh
I like that it is portable and I can use this on the go making the most out of the odd moments. Very comprehensive and has many tracks for learning. I took out the pro+ version to get personalized intructions - great.
very good. have different levels of classes for different learners. the notes are helpful too. but there are small typos in the texts and notes sometimes
The app is great and totally worth the fee, but their agressive marketing that continues even when you pay in the pro membership can be annoying.
It is very good! Easy to use and fun. This would get 5 stars except it crashes quite often. Fix that and this is an excellent app.
I chose the Russian language option to learn. Just by what I've seen, I believe that this app is incredibly helpful and is cost efficient. Though I can't offer too much on this app, I believe that i full of quality and can teach you whatever language you want with ease!
When I try to download the lesson audio it is faulty and displays a padlock next to the audio selection, and I'm not even able to use the audio when I have WiFi access. When it is downloading it stops shortly after it begins and the app claims it's because the sd card isn't properly mounted and hasn't got enough storage space. When I've checked this the sd card is mounted properly and functions normally, I've also spent hours trying to make this work, including formatting the sd card and transfering the whole app onto external storage with over 20GB of storage remaining but it still is useless.
This is a really good app and I love it, however the ability to queue or auto play through the lessons would really be appreciated as driving whole listening to the lessons does become a little dangerous as you have to manually navigate and select the lessons to listen to them
This is an amazing program that will help you to learn a new language. It encourages you to think in the new language and provides simple tools to start speaking right away.
Laggy sometimes, but nothing major. Good first step in learning Japanese.
This is a clever way to learn a new language. It breaks lessons down in size so that they are manageable for anyone. This review is specifically for the Hebrew.
I'm having trouble with the android version. It always stops at some point then I have to repeat the whole audio. Also, is there a way to have an auto play for the android like for the apple devices?
There is a bug in the app. Everytime I listen to the lessons while reading the pdf file (or using any other app) the recoding stops at about 3 minutes to the end. I hope you can fix it soon.
Support is non-existent. I paid for the app, and it wouldn't let me download files. Kept saying sd card not mounted or full, but the card is mounted with gigs free. I keep emailing for help, but no answer. Bad!

I've been using this app to learn Japanese. So far it's the only app I've discovered that really pushes me to practice my listening skills. You must sign up for a subscription to access all materials, but I've found this app to be very helpful and worth the subscription fee. The lessons can be downloaded on wifi and then listened to without burning through your data. Minus one star because the company sends too many emails--even after they're already getting your money.
