Use your phone as a portable bar code scanner to your computer via wifi, for the most common 1D barcodes
Usage :
For the first time, install the bar code software in your windows pc. To do that, start this app and go to Options and push the Pc setup button. Follow the instructions given. Save BarcodeServer.exe to a convenient place. Consider adding it to the startup items, if you plan on using it often in that computer.
After the pc setup is done, choose the options that most feat your needs : end char terminator ( CR or TAB ), pc beep after scan and single shot or continuous scan mode.
Bar code scanning :
Ensure that the correct destination pc address is selected as the host pc. If not in the list, add it, pushing the plus button.Press the start button to start scanning, and align the bar code with the central window. After successful scanning, the code will be transmitted to your computer. This app works the same way as a true bar code scanner, so please ensure that the focused window on the pc allows keyboard input. (ex. notepad)
Notes : the barcode scanning engine included is the one provided by the core functionality of zxing.org. Many thanks for providing such a great facility.

Barcodeserver.exe is damaged. Failed trying to download through app. Extracted file with phone, but after multiple attempts to move to pc (dropbox, USB, email attachment), no success.

Seeming delay on barcode transfer to pc, maybe about a sec or two. has a bug on the context menu on the taskbar in windows 8, will not transfer barcode if context is open. The center screen ad is annoying, ad on bottom is tolerable. Also no faqs or support!

Works exactly as advertised on LG Nexus 5 with Android 5.1.1 Install app, Install computer service, Configure app, Open any text editor (word, notpad, etc), Scan barcode or QR code. Only gripe is the interface on the app isn't as polished as most, when selecting IP address of computer, nothing is displayed in the drop-down box making you think nothing has been selected. Tidy up interface for 5 stars.

A very useful app, handy for light projects at home (I mostly use it to scan ISBN barcodes for my library manager). Not to difficult to get running. Wouldn't mind spending a couple buck to get rid of the ads. I have 2 suggestions for improvements. First, put an address button in the server app. That would make the PC side more convenient. Second, a way to delete address in the connect list, or otherwise reduce the accumulation. Still, of the 4 or 5 IP/Bluetooth linked apps I tried, this one is the best overall.

The software works for a few time after that it shows advertisements one after another and there is no scope to use it any more. Even it does not close while showing advertisements. I tried to find it's paid version but there is not paid version available and developer's website is no longer exists.

So the concept is great, and I like the ease of setting up. The pop up full screen ads every time it loads and every few scans kills the functionality of the app. Also, after installing this app Google warned of suspicious requests that violate terms of service; Lookout scanner says it is safe though. Banner ads instead would have earned more stars.

It is really working thanks but this app is not reading mobile phone imei barcode. Maybe it read imei but I couldn't do. Other barcodes is not problem app is reading and sending. But I need imei barcode reader, can you implement this functionality?
