Muhammad also transliterated as Mohammad, Mohammed, or Muhammed; Arabic full name: Muhammad Ibn `Abd Allāh Ibn `Abd al-Muttalib was a leader from Mecca who unified the tribes of Arabia into a single religious polity under Islam. He is believed by Muslims and Bahá'ís to be a messenger and prophet of God. Muslims believe that Islam was not his own invention but was revealed by God, and most consider him to be the last prophet of God Muslims thus consider him the restorer of an uncorrupted original monotheistic faith (islām) of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets.
