Update 12/20/2017 Don't buy Blink cameras! Stay Away! Blink no longer has a functioning integration with home automation platforms like SmartThings! Get your refund if you purchase from Blink directly. ________________________________________ Old review! Extremely Happy with my system! This camera is by far the best security system you can get for the amount of money you will spend for competitors. Extremely versatile wire free camera will give you the opportunity for best placement. The scheduled system arm has already been released for IOS and will be available on Android by end of July 2016. Understand that this is a low power device and will last you for 1 year on batteries. If you use the option for AC power, the cameras are still very good.

Was a backer of the original system. Added two xt for outside, and the "updates" just keep making the system worse and worse. I can't view my cameras, they always "camera is busy". My outdoor camera has not recorded a single thing in over a week, yet it is on a street. How am I supposed to monitor my home if nothing works

Y70%
by Y####:

Do not listen to customers comments or fix issues. Have to keep pressing "CONTINUE" which is VERY VERY annoying to view and also inconsistent in storing videos. Stores only occasionally and then even when no motion taking place and not 24/7 which makes it somewhat useless, plus clip time very limited seconds. Gets aggravating

by Y####:

Inconsistent notifications. Sometimes you get them right away, other times they get delayed for many minutes (sometimes HOURS). I don't have issues with notifications for any other apps. I deleted and reinstalled the app and am still seeing the same issues. Was hoping this would be a replacement for RING or SKYBELL, but it doesn't work as such since the notifications don't get sent consistently and quickly enough after a camera is triggered.

My blink system...three cameras works well....agree that more features when they come will be great. Like options for switching to live monitoring without pressing continue......being able to talk thru camera.....erase all pictures option...etc.....but still best system for me yet

I do not have any problems with my blink system. Sometimes it is busy syncing or resetting, but it does not take long. The only downside is that the blue light gives its own location, and from there, it could get stolen or destroyed by the criminals.

Initial setup was easy. Havent tested range yet but video quality is pretty good and communication to the cameras seems stable so far. Only complaint so far is that the Scheduler in the app should support individual schedules per camera, not per sync module.

Great system! Amazing battery life , and stability. Free storage and more affordable than the competition. You are likely to see a deluge of bad reviews from Smart Things users who are disgruntled third party integration was disabled. This was never an advertised feature , sure HA would be nice but the system is great as a standalone and does support IFTTT. Highly recommended!

Update: Company removes functionality that you depend on without notice. Do not buy these cameras. Doesn't follow Android convention. Buglist: (1)The in-app back button at the upper-left of the screen should always take you to the parent screen. It should not be equivalent to the system back button. This is super-annoying when I entered the app via notification and hit that back button to get to the parent window. It takes me out of the app! (2) The call stack should never be cleared. If I have something else open (Gmail maybe) and I get a Blink notification, clicking the notification takes me to the video. That's great. What's not great is that if I now press the System back button, I go to the home screen instead of back to Gmail. That's wrong. (3) Sometimes clicking a notification takes me to a blank screen. Nothing there. Both in-app and system back buttons take me to my home screen, rather than the parent or the previous as they should. (4) Entering the app from the launcher often takes me to the last thing I looked at instead of the app's main window.

Buggy and slow. Prone to crashes. Common sense features look changing notification tones do not exist despite being requested since launch. Customer support clearly an afterthought at best. Find another home security vendor.

Don't buy. Got the XT pack as a gift. Tried installing but couldn't. I was able to install the sync module but could not get the cameras added. I tried adding them on iPhone and Android and tried resetting the sync module, etc etc as I went through their troubleshooting guides. I contacted their tech support through their website with all the details of what I had done, to get a reply from them 24hrs later that basically told me to go through the troubleshooting guides. Not a good indication to me, will return this.

I for now, own the 2 camera blink xt kit. There is absolutely no way these cameras are 1080p as they claim with the software update. They don't even look 720p. The picture quality is very grainy and almost blurry under all lighting conditions including at night with the IR lights. I called customer service and was on hold for over 30 minutes just waiting to talk to someone. I hung up because I wasn't spending anymore time on hold. Seriously thinking about returning these. I've had them a week and these cameras suck. I know they are battery operated so my expectations are realistic but these cameras are a $200.00 pile of elephant Dookie!

It has had spotty service here and there. It's back to working for now but a few months back I could not get it to work. For now, I'm happy.

Good starter home monitoring system but lacks many customizations. Can't even change the order of the cameras on your home screen which is the most basic of features. Would be nice to exclude zones from motion detection. My cats set it off as they walk across the living room floor. Would also like the option to arm specific cameras at specific times. Right now arming the whole system on a schedule is the only option. Adding a ball type of attachment to the mount vs the current fixed hinge that is currently supplied would be a major improvement. I will say the 2 customer service experiences I had regarding 2 defective cameras was excellent so I would still recommend overall but I'm really hoping for multiple software upgrades in the future.

It's ok I just don't know how to turn down the volume on the alert it sends me, not the best but for the money I spent it will do . If I turn off the alert then it doesn't record when someone passes by.

Update 12/25/2017: The app continues to log me out even after following all the instructions i have received by email for case# 104347. As of today, the sync module will not connect to their servers. I have multiple internet providers and have been able to do everything else online. Not sure if this is related to Amazon buying them out or not. I was really looking forward to buying the new door bells and some out door cameras. I guess that will wait to see what will happen now. 11/12/2017: I love the product but the app has a problem of logging you out of your account on your device. This doesn't help when I have it set up to automatically arm when I leave the house and disarm when I come home through the IFTTT app. This is an issue that needs to be corrected as prior to the most recent update this never happened.

As of 12/19/17 I can no longer recommend blink cameras. They removed the smartthings integration with basically no notice. This was a major reason for me buying the system and the fact that they've removed it is unacceptable.

B70%

Takes too long to pull up an image or video on demand... 8 to 10 second lag every single time... Motion sensitivity lags too, our toddler can leave his room and get halfway down the hall before it triggers the camera

Y70%
by Y####:

WHY do I suddenly have to re-login every time I open the app? WHY does my IFTTT disconnect? WHY did you BREAK my smartthings login?? WHAT are you not telling your customers?

Y70%

Crashing all the time connection is bad even when it's right next to the modem don't ever buy these

UPDATE: Created my own workaround for IFTTT in my region and it works! Now Blink is activated or disabled on geofencing, finally. New app has a big improvement in speed! Was a fan of the old green color though but oh well. Please for the love of god stop discriminating on your paying customers location for IFTTT!! I still don't have geofencing functionality and having to manually remember to arm/disarm is unreliable. At this point I wish I had gone with competitor Arlo, customers are treated equally with all features. You have a good product but without all features it's hard to tell.

I have 4 cameras, including outdoor cam. I think they work well and bought them because I read that they were to add a siren to the system later. Well the siren alarm is here but it is NOT TRIGGERED BY MOTION DETECTION AND IT IS NOT AT ALL LOUD. What a let down. If my home was burglarized, I guess I will have to rely on the police dept to view my clear video and try to catch the thieves... Dismal prospect for return of stolen property. If you just want to monitor your home Blink is great. If you want to deter a burglary look elsewhere.

Very pleased simple to install and connect. Camera performance good just bought the outdoor cam so can't comment yet on it's performance, would like the option to arm individual cameras OR all cameras as now to make daily use of the system more flexible. Throughly recommend the system

Keeps forgetting password. Current version of app (on both Android and Apple) keep forgetting password and notifications stop. The only way I can log in again is to reset password. It's fine for a day and then it will do it again in 24 hours or so. Suxs.

I researched a lot on security cameras and finally settled on Blink. Overall, I believe it's the best because I have ZERO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS!!! The quality of the cameras are excellent and the customer service is great. The app works great on my Samsung S6, S8, & IPhone 6s... Thx u Blink!

You get no sound notifications when cameras are active. Defeats the purpose of having them if your not notified by a sound. I have everything turned on but no sound when alerted.
