LE TRAIN-THEATRE 1993 > 2012 : TOUTE UNE HISTOIRE !

Sorti de terre en 1993, en pleine campagne, et porté par une forte volonté politique, Le Train Théâtre est théâtre municipal de Portes-lès-Valence dans la Drôme [26] et depuis 2010 équipement culturel de la nouvelle communauté d'agglomération : Valence Agglo Sud Rhône-Alpes [130 000 habitants].

Le Train-Théâtre est une scène généraliste, devenue scène musicale, puis repérée pour ses actions et ses engagements autour de la chanson depuis près de 15 ans.
Un projet artistique élaboré et conduit par Patrick Ducré durant 10 années, puis relayé par Luc Sotiras, directeur depuis 2004 qui développe à son tour le projet et l’axe des Arts de la piste.

Construit au sein d’une ville cheminote par les architectes Robert Boursin et Roger Kahn, son baptême sonnait comme une évidence, ce serait Le Train-Théâtre. Aujourd’hui, cette salle de spectacles de 450 places, fait référence par sa programmation audacieuse, variée et cohérente quant à son projet artistique, mais également par ses qualités scéniques et son équipement technique performant.

Le Train Théâtre est : Scène Conventionnée pour la chanson depuis 2009 et « Scène Régionale Rhône-Alpes » Il bénéficie aujourd’hui d’une reconnaissance des tutelles : le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, la Région Rhône-Alpes, le Département de la Drôme et le soutien de nombreux partenaires.

Il revendique son appartenance au groupe des 20 Théâtres de ville en Rhône-Alpes ; un réseau qui développe en partenariat avec la région Rhône-Alpes et le Ministère de la Culture une réflexion et des projets innovants dans les secteurs de la diffusion, de la création et de la conquête de nouveaux publics. Mais également parce qu’au carrefour d’esthétiques musicales dans différents réseaux.

Plus qu’un simple lieu de diffusion, Le Train est aussi un lieu de résidence et d’accompagnement.

Le Train-Théâtre fait la part belle à la jeune création, accueillant talents régionaux et artistes d’envergure nationale et internationale ( AAH! les Deferlantes festival de chanson francophone nord américaine ).

Les « Résidences chanson » et les « compagnonnages » apportés aux artistes depuis plusieurs années, font de ce lieu une « maison des artistes » où il fait bon s’installer pour travailler quelques jours… TRAIN-THE THEATRE 1993> 2012: A WHOLE STORY!
