AIM OF THE HERITAGE RANGERS
To contribute to the development of the youth in achieving their full potential.
To introduce youth to traditions and practices that enhances their sense of adventure, discipline and productivity.
To train the Ranger in Volunteerism & Civic Responsibility, Community Service & Unity, Heritage and Patriotism and to ensure that youth serve their communities as responsible citizens.
To Develop Academic, Social, Intellectual and physical qualities.
To promote diversity in our Communities through knowledge and understanding.
To Preserve, Protect and minimize the impact of humans on the environment.
To develop leadership skills.
MISSION & DUTIES OF EVERY CADET FIELD RANGER
To promote Afrikan Unity, and cultural diversity.
To ensure social cohesion amongst people of all nationalities, races creeds, ethnicity and religions backgrounds.
To Fight all forms of Discrimination, Alienation, Racism, and Xenophobia.
To minimize human impact on natural environment through greener living conditions and promoting recycling.
Maintaining, guarding and preserving the natural heritage and environment on our continent.
Promoting safe circumcision for boys, and a healthy drug, HIV/Aids and crime free environment for the development of our youth.
PRICIPLES OF THE SIBANYE RANGERS
Duty to Others – Promotion of understanding and co-operation in society, recognition and respect for the dignity of humanity and the natural world.
Duty to Self - Responsibility for the development of oneself, to be trained, to enshrine learning and entrench a culture of reading.
Duty to the Constitution and Basic Human Rights – To have the responsibility of always adhering to the principles enshrined within the constitution and the maintenance of the International Conventions on Human Rights.
Respecting Religion – To show tolerance understanding and respect for the religious or ideological convictions of others
No Political Affiliation – The Organization is not connected with any political body
PARTICIPATION and MEMBERSHIP
Membership is voluntary.
Members must be able to subject themselves to the required training and courses to skill them in line with the volunteer work that the organization fulfills.
Members must be School going youth/students from ages 14 to 23.
Members must have no criminal record, involvement with gangs or criminal activities.
Members must ensure to have a neat and proper bearing
Members must have and/or develop good communication skills.
Members must have a controlled approach with regards to aggression (easy temperament and decisiveness in action).
Members must have and/or develop good field knowledge, be trainable, physically fit and have a healthy disposition with the ability to walk and/or run long distances.
Members must have and/or develop a keen sense of smell, hearing and eyesight.
Members must have a natural love for community, heritage, culture and keen interest in nature, animals, wildlife and and/or living or working in the bush.
Members must at times be prepared to leave all creature comforts behind and follow a program that involves being close to nature, rough and tough conditions and bush life.
Members must participate in the required amount of community, environmental and fundraising activities in order to maintain membership active.
Members must have membership fees paid up to maintain membership active.
