iRig Recorder FREE

The app is fine when it works... But it crashes, freezes during boot-up and recording and also lost all of my recordings for a huge project. It then recovered all the files on its own....but without the renamed labels I used. Then it lost all of the recovery audio.... No information on the site or app about how to recover or troubleshoot.

Initially fails to launch, then usually succeeds after additional tries. No settings for location recording location and app keeps deleting recordings. They only show immediately after making them, but relaunching the app finds nothing.

Update the app please! I just got the irig lapel and I thought the app was able to record with camera! (My friend was using an iPhone and I'm using Android) Now I found out the Apple store irig app has the video function but the Android doesn't? What's up with that? Please update the app ASAP so we can all use with ease, I want to start a project and this is such a hassle to go between apps !

I recorded 40 minutes of audio as a test. It recorded fine but when I exited the app it crashed my phone and I had to restart. Too unreliable for podcasting. I hope IK hardware is better than their software as I do plan on picking up the mic lav, but I will use other software with it.

Some time works good.Too often records with noise and stuttering. You never know will the app provide you a decent record or simply ruin it. Standard voice recording app has less features but is more reliable.

I spent $40 on the little irig mic and thought that this app was going to be good like last time. But nope. This app has decayed from the last time I used it.

The recording quality. I was sold an Irig UA, and was told that with this app I can get studio quality recording on the go. After setting everything up accordingly, the first playback sounded like farts. Im not sure if i have to buy additional mic hardware, but was told with the Irig UA and ths IRig recording app that i would get studio quality which is very false. If there is a setup that someone can explain to get bette quality recording sound, I am all ears. Might as well get my cassette tape n press rec

because of slide widget on registration page. Also it quits playing when the screen blanks. Records garbled.

Not a thing even begins to work from software to the gadgets. Neither Nexus 7, Pixel XL, Pixel C get one click of audio with both iRig2 Electric & Acoustic I bought with any iK App in Google Play. Best Con Job I ever encountered since the Army in Columbus Georgia in the 80's. Pure rubbish not fit for a proper garbage can. Stick these iRigs in a dirty diaper where they belong. Dispose of properly.

Is there any reason why the iRig recorder won't recognize my iRig Pre with microphone turned on when it's plugged into the phone? Does the free version only let you use the on board mic? For some reason, I can monitor audio out with the irig pre plugged in and turned on (using the pre headphone jack) but it's not using the microphone plugged into the pre, and I can't seem to find an option or control to change this. super frustrating for android version. Vocallive for iphone still works ok, but this one doesn't seem to work well. Since the iRig pre is actually featured within the ads for the "iRig Recorder for Android" on IK multimedia's site, I was thinking it would work as advertised.

I loaded the free version and and even bought the IRig Pre amp to plug in a microphone. THE MICROPHONE NEVER WORKED.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE APPS, THEY'RE AN ABSOLUTE JOKE. THE PROGRAM IS A DISASTER !!!!!!!!!

I couldn't get through the adverts telling me about how good other apps were. Never really got to try it for more than a minute. When I did, the volume was poor but that was nothing compared to the delay. The sound came out about a second after I had stummed the guitar. A bad app even for free.

To be clear This App is useful and shows great promise. For some strange reason On My Samsung S5 when recording with the internal microphone you get a static glichy recording. So you will need carry around a external microphone this will not do. The pop-ups advertising great things cause the app to crash if you try to view them. So lots of lost revenue there. I think this app is still in ALPHA release needs more work like being able to use the SD card instead of internal. On a Plus seems to work well with cheep devices.

I love the iRig Mic Cast, with which I installed this app to use. The mic is a very good product, and the switchable gain setting does a very good job of picking up sound from a guitar amplifier, and dropping out environmental noise. The app itself has a good interface, and some useful features. HOWEVER, I gave it two stars because the exported sound files (both .wav and .ogg formats) were absolutely LOUSY with compression artifacts, and for some reason, the exported file was a full second in duration shorter than the raw file, and therefore was impossible to sync with the video I shot, making this app completely worthless to me. Pros: Good UI, Good Features, Simple to use, if you're looking to record audio to use AS IS, you'll end up with a decent-enough sounding recording. Cons: Compressed export SUUUUUUUUUCKS, lots of artifacting, very limited options for getting the files off of your device (no option to upload to drive, dropbox, etc). Not useful for recording audio tracks to edit into video.

The app is fine but the recording is unusable. Terrible pops and clicks. I have a Samsung Note 3 and plenty of memory. I bought an iRig Acoustic microphone, thinking, as stated in the IK Multimedia website, that it could be used with this app. It can, but the pops and clicks make it useless. By the way I get the same pops when I record with the phone mic. IK should seriously fix this and show respect to all the android people who paid for their iRig Acostic mic. Really annoyed by this waste of money.

Seems like good recording quality and can normalize (other filters cost). The pop-ups to get you to buy their other products are annoying but manageable. The constant crashing, particularly when phone screen is off or other apps are in foreground, is not acceptable. When restarting recordings are gone. Kill it and restart and they're back. Still lose the recording from when it crashed. Had this problem on Android 5, same problem on 6.

I bought the irig lavs and this is the app for it. the mic came with an unlock code and you have to register an account at irig to unlock the app. I don't want to open another fricking account for that! I payed for the mics, give me the app to use them! this app as it is is a massive ad bomber for irig products. def my last irig products.

Earlier versions always crashed at startup but this one, tested 12/26/2013 works fine. Nice to have input monitoring and recording, thanks

About to delete it. Just went in to transfer my recordings and they were all gone. 2 days of mastermind just vanished. Totally useless piece of junk that hangs up after 3 or 4 recordings Don't waste your time

At first, optimizing volume would make things louder. Now, it makes things more quiet. Makes no sense. Wasted $2.

Every other recording is garbled. Useless for catching interviews at events. Pointlessly bad

The app itself is very ordinary and crashes regularly but the reason I gave it such a rating is because I just opened the application and all my recordings were gone! I didn't clear the data or cache or anything!

I have an iRig keys which i can only enjoy plugging in to my computer. There are other programs on the web and playstore (note not app store - not everyone wants an iPhone ).. which allow me to play iRig keys through my android device... the problem is why is there no apps from IK media side for android devices ..only apple. I guess this is not a comment but a complaint. Please reply a.s.a.p.

When I went to music rehearsal, I started recording. After music rehearsal was over, I checked to make sure that it had recorded properly, and it had. When I got home my recording had disappeared which meant that I had lost everything I did at rehearsal. Not a happy bunny

Pls see this I need help. I really need to know if this app can connect to PC because it is a great app and I want to use this mic to my youtube vids.

The app is decent usually but crashes often. But recently it went ahead and deleted all my recordings just by navigating away from the app?! Gone. I've tried many Data Recovery programs to no avail, even removed and investigated the SD card- nothing. Very disappointed with this company.

Well I'm trying to figure out if this software is worth paying for but I'm having a hard time because I keep having to close these popups telling me to buy this and that. I'm left with the impression that IK Multimedia is more interested in grubbing money out of my pocket than it is in writing quality software that's actually worth paying for! I guess if I were some hotshot recent MBA head with a degree in advertising, I'd give that app five stars. As someone that wants to RECORD, however, ONE STAR!!!

Stop advertising your other products on top. It's annoying when I'm just about to hit record and then suddenly I've got to clear not 1 but 2 ads. I have all your softsynths, including Sampletank 3, T Racks Pro and Amplitube, so it's not as if I'm a new customer. It's offputting and unnecessary. STOP IT NOW

I composed such an on the spot beautiful song and when i play it? BOOM!! Instead of capturing the words ideas and everything that is coming out from my mind . now i just lost it.. I cant understand my voice because there's too much distortion or noise or something that i can't explain...i was.. T_T i was very disappointed with this app!

It is really buggy. When I try to record song ideas with my guitar, I get what sounds like a really bad sounding recording. It sounds like distorted digital sound

Ok love the app when it works it works well, depending on the device. Case One An old Motorola Atrix II the program works but depending on CPU load depends on quality. Case Two Samsung s5 Mini works well apart from a advertising hint that crashes the app, The mike on this phone sucks but the external mike from other head sets gave great or better results, Once I loaded up the CPU got glitchy recordings. Case Three Some cheep android tablet well surprise surprise it works well enough but due to configuration of the tablet no external microphone. any how once I have made recordings I save them as ***.wav and use a thrid party program to use SMB protocol to get them to a desk top DAW end resualts are Ok. Comment on Case Two This phone has some serious issues and I cant base my comments on that phone, More than happy with the APP. Being able to set the record volume level is a real secret to this app being as good as it is.

Everything I record seems to disappear after a few days. Very annoying. No idea why this is happening. Please advise!

I downloaded this after my usual audio recorder packed in started using it at a music lesson I'd paid for it seemed to be working fine so I paid for all the features. Got home with all my nice tidy geo tagged files made a cup of tea and thought I'd listen to my lessons. Sadly when I went back to the phone they were all gone (20 recordings) decided to try to record some more and manually save them but can't I get internal error message. The is utter garbage. Samsung GS5

Randomly glitches up to point that audio is unusable. DO NOT BUY. Cost me jobs.

So I've only used this a handful of times. It seemed to arbitrarily delete files so I lost confidence. Then gave it another go for NYE. Captured loads of great soundbites. Tried to download. The app deleted them all before I got the chance. Devastated.

I bought the iRig microphone and downloaded the free app. The microphone seems good since it works with another recording app. The problem that I am having with the app is that it is not easy to find on my Android phone and I wanted to play back the files. It just does not seem simple to find. Not user friendly or intuitive. The files weren't a WAV file nor a MP3 that was created. It was some strange *.raw file on my Android phone when I plugged it into my Windows7 computer. Just not intuitive for me since I was trying to create a podcast file and I wanted to find the file on my Android so I could convert to a MP3.

I tried using the input monitoring with earphones & had a high pitch noise,all I was looking for is a good audio clean up app,recording sounds & cleaning the hiss etc,too many purchases needed to get the good bits,uninstalled.
