AmpliTube / Samsung Pro Audio for Android
Really good, no regrets making this purchase. I'm mostly interested in the Marshall and Fender type amps, and they sound very pleasing. The modelling has nailed the character of those brands down to having to tame the spikiness of a twin reverb and coax the brittleness out of a jcm 800 as I would expect. Really like the octaver and tube screamer but would love a compressor! Note 4/iRig 2 with '86 USA Strat. Cheers!
Irig2 connected to a galaxy s7 active using full version of amplitude hooked to a Gibson Les Paul. This combo should be gold. Would not work at all. Solved this by downloading the Samsung pro audio sdk from their site. Works like a champ now.
Just like the title says. Every time I open the app and change any setting, it stops. It's been this way for a week. Don't waste your money paying for this. I'd like my money back since the app is completely unusable.
The "i" is saying something: Android users beware. Very noisy with Samsung s6. Not many amp models, can't scroll to the right on the crunch amp so can't turn down reverb which sounds dimed. I like the vox amplug better. I really feel like I got ripped off.
Like other users have said, crashes constantly. Don't waste your money on this
OK after much mucking around. You may well need to go into Samsung Pro Audio settings on your phone so that it can relinquish control of USB audio to the Amplitude app through the iRig device. Without that setting all I was getting was stuff coming through the phone mic and nothing at all from the guitar end. Only took 4 hours and no help from the IK website, FAQ's etc. This thing is more plug and pray. 4 stars, it works well, WHEN you get it going.
It crashes all the time I try to change effects :((((( If i leave the predifined effect it works well and there is no lag at all, the sound is brilliant. Otherwise it just crashes :((( PLEASE UPDATE!!
Love this for when I'm at school and need to practice. Don't know how to control buzzing sound in background though other than that works good with my galaxy s6 with irig 2 would be cool if it recorded
Thought I Could Get More Effects, Amplifiers And Record My Playing, It's Good If Your Traveling In Your Car/Van/RV/Camper/Truck Or Just Plan Traveling Or You Could Use It For Practice, I've Seen IOS Do Better They Have More Last Time I Checked. They Need To Make A GarageBand For Android And Windows
The app does not work on my LG stylus two and keeps telling me i need android 5 and up when i have 7
Not a bad app, ok for practice, would be nice if it could run in background or supported split screen mode on my s7.
Worst after i purchased the apps . I cant even run the apps . Please fix it asap ! Thanks .
I enjoy this app, however, it is near impossible to access the tone and reverb knobs on the crunch amp. Please fix this.
Samsung note 4/irig stomp box Be cool if more effects were available
Loads of interference because I have no idea how to turn off the phones built in microphone.....I'm sure it's a great app if I could only fix this!!!!! So frustrating. I've tried tapeing up the in built mic but it's too sensitive I can still hear more clearly through that than the irig. .. I just need a button to be able to turn off the input from the in built mic. Is anyone going to help me fix this???? Been waiting. ....
Regularly turns into digital noise. Will not remain in low latency mode, switches over to middle latency randomly, which is even more digital glitches. I thought this would help me practice songs at home, but I can only run thru half a song before it becomes digitized noise. In app store doesn't appear to have any additional amplifiers or effects in it, so dialing in my sound is pretty much not happening. Not to mention, you must buy the app from the store before you can even use the unit bought.
The best sounding preset is the free one. everything else gets a lot of noise. it is also buggy. Some of the amps won't scroll. it hasn't been updated in a while. Amplitube never ceases to dissapoint me.

After some annoying attempt to configure it well, now it works perfectly on my Note 4! There is no lag at all, the sound is brilliant and I am able to play along with my favourite songs on Play Music (you need to play the song and then go back to the app). Super!
I bought this device months ago and still no update to fix the problem with the presets not displaying correctly and user settings not saving. I regret buying this thing.
The app crashes all the time. Also it's not working with soundcamp. Recording on the go was the main point of having this app and the irig. I don't need an amp emulator, I've got orange head and some nice pedals and this app will never sound better than that... really disappointed with the recordping ability absence. Ios users got more stuff.
I have been trying to register and no matter what email I use it tells me that is invalid, does anyone knows what I need to do? other than that the app is awesome
I seem to be having the same troubles as a lot of people with this app. Lots of crashes to the point where it won't load up and i have to reinstall and restart device, only for it to do the same. As well, all types of background noises, really distracting to say the least and presets are totally screwed. Using S5 phone paired with the Irig 2. It bummed me out because it seemed to be a great solution for Android users. Sadly it seems like its been like this from the start and there have been no fixes. Waiting to hear from support to see if im going to return the irig 2 and bail on the whole idea.
Sound is good whilst it works, but as soon as you start using the various effects and amps the app crashes.
The app is good for guitar lovers especially those on the go and portability of this device iRig 2. But it needs to conjuction with the music player and video player to have muti window so that we can practice both app is open in windowed not tabbed.
You need your phone screen to stay open or the sound will stop. So you can't put it in your pocket and play. And it has to drain your battery.
All default presets have become non functional on the Samsung Professional Audio version of my Note 5 android 5.1.1 version. This is my third attempt at resolution from IK support. I have not heard back from anyone in over a week. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled app as suggested with no help. I will be rating this app as a 1 star on the Google marketplace until somebody at least attempts to help me.
Cool ap, but...even after receiving receipt by email...UNABLE TO GET FREE EFFECT...at least give me what was for sale and paid for
1 amp, 3 cabs, and your pick, from the 11 available, of a few non bass specific pedals, not even compression. Refunded within 15 min. If you need a few more bass options, you need to buy an iPad and the HD version. Meanwhile, the guitar options nearly quadruple.
Whole thing blows, doesn't even work
Keeps closing on my s6 edge. Could be better but that's android for ya. Gonna switch to iPhone soon and get jamup pro from positive grid.
Does not work properly built in mic will not turn off with Irig2 even when S voice is disabled
Started out awesome then on crunch Channel you can't scroll the amp left or right. And now its crashed and will not work. Please fix of replace money. On uninstalled and reinstalled but still doesn't help.
Works good for what it is, using my galaxy s6 and irig2. Not the best modelling but it gets the job done. I also figured out that if you use Samsung's music player you can play music and reopen amplitude to play along. This should be a feature in the app itself but atleast there's a loop hole. Originally I wrote a poor review but it seemed my irig was have interference with my air conditioner... a little strange but whatever.
Disclaimer,Im not a sound nerd. I get it... if I want perfect I'll need to invest in the real thing. I have a Samsung s6 and iRig2.Was I provided the 1st flatulent duck playing a kazoo preset- in that case IK nailed it. $40 for the iRig 2and $20 for the app. iRig 2 cant be compatible with the headphone input of the s6. Works well in my iPad. I think to be usable Android users will need to invest another $30 in a mini cable. So boo to Amplitube and iRig2.
Same as some others. I have a Galaxy Note 4 and the latest op system for Android and I do not get along. I can't get it to launch at all. And this is the paid version with all the bells and whistles. . Not good...
Worked great for about ten minutes. Then it started sounding like I threw my phone in the microwave. It's not the guitar (I have 6 and tried them all, active or passive makes no diff). It's not the cable (tried 3 brand new high quality cables, just for giggles ). Turned on airplane mode, and made sure to close all other apps. Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I will note that the most recent OS update has screwed up a wide variety functions. So maybe it's not IK'S fault. Either way, someone needs fix this!!!!!
I recently bought the iRig 2 hoping to have the flexibility of Amplitube on both platforms. The Android for Samsung Pro version works pretty well but it has not been updated in 5 months. Someone tell me if I wasted €20 Euro? Other than that the app is ok but way behind the iPhone version.

Pretty average to be honest. It could use a few more cab sims and effects. The amp sims are fairly basic and dialling in a half decent tone takes a bit of work thanks to the limited tools. It barely gets the job done. Don't expect it to sound good.
