PlaceMap Beta

PlaceMap automatically learns places and routes using low energy interfaces such as GSM data. It opportunistically uses high accuracy alternatives such as GPS and WiFi to enhance the accuracy of place and route detection. PlaceMap stores and manages long term mobility history of a person as places and routes which can be used by context-aware applications for personalization. PlaceMap Beta App uses APIs provided
by PlaceMap to visualize a person’s mobility and interaction with other people. It requires a Facebook login.
Usage Instructions and Features:
To visualize data, the user initially specifies a duration.
The app then presents a map marking all the significant places visited by the user during this selected duration. The user also has the option of tagging places such as home, work-place, recreational point etc. and use custom markers for the same.These places are remembered by the app in future sessions of the app.The user can view a list of places visited by her and view their place profiles which displays the days on which the user visited this place, details of the last visit and the total time spent at this place. It also displays the user’s mobility
profile.
