The Official Bath App for Android
The Official Bath App is brought to you by the Bath Business Improvement District and Bath Tourism Plus, the official tourism organisation for Bath and the surrounding area.
Just flashes up then closes down
Crashes, slow loading, not good UI. Looks like the local council copped out on price for a developer
Wanted it to use new live parking updates but after looking at a couple of menu items it crashed and wouldn't reload.
eek
Lots of useful info but keeps crashing, hard to use & sometimes info isn't entered correctly resulting in incomplete sections. Great idea but just start over & make it better!
If it was fixed, it could have been awesome... As it stands, unusable..
Uses outdated app design standards, doesn't scale to different screen sizes, low resolution pictures... I could go on.
Crashes constantly, rubbish user interface, information not helpful.
Useless if you want to know what to visit. Useful for shopping. Just like yellow pages.
Really handy app for when visiting Bath - being able to clearly see where everything is plotted on map and in relation to where you are is incredibly helpful. Made good use of the events section too, great to be able to see what's on around you during the dates of your stay.
Most of the comments are clearly from the development company. Good effort collecting the data but it's not really going to be that useful. One template used for all cities doesn't work and key info is missing. Well done bath council on wasting your money.
Great info and easy to use. Really useful to see what's on whilst in the city and was impressed with the augmented reality feature. I like!
Decent enough info in the app. Please get rid of the 'wipe to enter' screen though as it is unnecessary and slow.
Utter Rubbish - Old Data and Crashing App. No help in my visit to Bath!
This could be a useful app, but isn't. Rather than spend the money on better information and keeping the data full and up to date, it was spent on 'wipe to enter'-a compete gimmick suggesting the app was commissioned by a committee of nontechnical people who hadn't thought through actual use cases and were dazzled by toys. Constant GPS nag makes it annoying, uninstalled.
Great idea for an app, very poorly executed. What is that opening screen all about? It's not fun or clever, it's just a waste of time when you're looking for info. All the 5 star reviews on this are clearly the developer trying to paint a turd gold.
Just been to Bath and this app does serve it well. Slight annoyance? The "Wipe" screen to enter. I mean really, must we? ;)
Kept crashing so gave up, Sony Xperia T
Constantly uses memory, battery and location services even when not required. Why?
Clunky and slow
It seems there are a lot of features in it, but it is slow responding, crashing and it is draing the battery for the location. It could use some optimization.
Best app I've used. Easy to use, told me everything I needed to know about Bath. Highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Bath.
Unusable
Crashes constantly, rubbish user interface, information not helpful.
Agree that the splash screen is pretty useless. Otherwise functional but generally uninspiring design. Not sure about the obsession with turning on GPS, most apps work fine using network to determine location.
Crashes every time at "attractions" so no use at all
What good are Solicitors and Publishers to a tourist?? Typical things a tourist would want an app for: where to buy postcards & find a post office, local restaurants, activities, etc. I'm a Bath resident and think this app has lost its direction.
Useless if you want to know what to visit. Useful for shopping. Just like yellow pages.
SK.MOHD.MOSYAKIM
Several features (tours, attractions) keep crashing, can't use it.
Crashing all the time
Off to Bath soon so this app looked promising. It began updating - took ages despite being on my home wifi - crashed. Restarted, it began updating, crashed again. Shame. Seems to be working now but I can't tell if it has updated or simply given up on it. Agree about the silly startup screen (clever the first time, irritating afterwards) and the nagging to turn on GPS. I know Bath. I don't need the GPS when I am walking the streets. This app has loads of potential so I hope they keep working on it.Being able to check out opening times, prices etc. of the attractions is very handy.
Wipe to enter screen is ridiculous and impractical and constant prompts to turn on GPS just annoying. This app is being updated almost daily but they are clearly not listening to feedback and actually making the changes people want to see. What a shame as it could be great.
Good idea, but too complex in layout. Also noticed that map slow to load in Bath to find places ...
Massive application but ability to move to SD card has been removed. Hopelessly amateur, uninstalled
Very useful, although the mapping and routes assumed I was driving rather than walking, which doesn't make much sense in the centre of Bath
Not bad, handy informative app. Like the steam effect!
Not bad. Runs a little slow. Can see it being useful but wipe to enter is annoying. That does not display right on Galaxy Nexus/Jelly Bean and is just terrible anyway. They should remove the splash screen or have option to disable wipe to enter perhaps. UI is not great, but works just about, few display issues. There are probably better alternatives on the market? Love the idea of a Bath App but while this one provides useful data, it does so poorly. :(
And the constant hassle to switch on GPS, that's rubbish too. The five star ratings are likely from the developers...

Have only tried this for parking spaces. It crashes every time on my Android phone. Have just updated and looked at the King William and it doesn't even have a location, what good is that? I am a local and don't even know where this pub is. A lot of work to be done on this app!
