The Daily Mash for Android
Not funny anymore. Main guy must have left.
Content is great app is passable
I've been a user and subscriber to The Daily Mash for well over five years. I've bought the books, bought books for friends. Lately I wonder if they've lost some staff? The Pictures section hasn't been filled for 2-3 years now, the Sports section is very sporadic but worst of all is NO PSYCHIC BOB! I don't know what to do with my life without the advice of the all seeing, all knowing Psychic Bob. As my subscription is due for renewal this week, sadly, I won't be renewing. Bring back Bob, bring back me... The Mash was great, the App was always a little poor, but I lived with it for the fabulous writing. But without Bob?
Ugh. I hadn't installed this in a while. Tried it on the Nexus 6P, and immediately renewed the subscription. Looks abandoned, which would be about right as it seems it hasn't been updated in nearly two years. Random feature always returns the same article. Subscription countdown stuck at -1047 days. All content categories except News show only a few stale items. Doesn't persist favorites between device installs.
The app is dreadful. It rarely works properly and continuously tells me that I need to renew my subscription despite me having paid only two or three months previously. A waste of £1, which is a shame as the stories are great.
Paid to renew my subscription, worked OK for a couple of weeks, now won't update and tells me my subscription has expired. Please sort it or refund me the money - it appears I'm not the only one...
It wont toss you off and it makes a rubbish butt plug but It will make you larf...best pound you'll ever spend, unless you got a wnning scratch card. .or you really like super market trolleys..
Hilarious, brilliant satirical content, consistently the best and funniest I read. In-app billing was broken but a couple of emails with the developers achieved a resolution whereby they refunded my payment, after which I was happy to resubscribe. Result!
A quid for crappy ad-ridden UI? More content free on the browser version. Total piss-take.
Latest problem is not loading Sports or Features. Does anyone read these reviews?
Continuing subs-related issue means I don't get to read Mash stuff at all right now. Yes, there's the mobile site, but it's clunky in comparison with the app and ad-laden.
Doesnt sync properly, doesn't pull across psychic Bob articles anymore or other non-headline articles, sharing facility is a bit crap and limited.
The content is brilliant, but the app itself is very annoying. Says subscription expired when over 6 months left to run,I see I'm not the only one. No reply from website as yet.
As with other people, the app says my subscription has ended. I emailed them and they said there was a problem with their server and it should be working "in a few days"... Still waiting. They said I could look at the mobile site - which then asks you for £2.50 a month. It's not the first time this has happened.
Problem with subscription. Renewed at end of January and kept telling me I had no subscription. Had to renew again in Feb
I would go to four, except the most recent update gives you the same result for all random story requests.
Subscription expired early. Says I need to renew annual subscription despite renewed only 2 months ago. May be related to Android system update to 6. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no joy.
Same story as many others. Keeps telling me I need to renew even though paid a few weeks ago. Please sort that out, I'll have to stick to the ad-riden website :(
Daily Mash "journalist" announces plans to write formulaic satire.
Renewed subscription not recognised, I paid for nothing.
In app billing needs fixing, can't see any articles right now and haven't been able to for a couple of months. Shouldn't take this long to fix.
Charged me £2.79 AND £0.99p when reinstalled on phone. OUTRAGEOUS.
How about fixing the fault that says sub has expired when it has months to run.
Great content, but now not working saying subscription expired even though I renewed in December.
Since the app began restricting access to random stories to one per day this app hasn't been worth the tiny subscription fee. Get out of my life.
I used to love this app. I've subscribed but it refuses to update - it tells me I'm nearly a year behind with my subscription, which is not correct.
Then exits. Tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but with no success. Started rejecting me again for no reason. Not impressed.
Articles are mostly good but the app needs refining by a proper developer. I'd like to be able to click on a Facebook linked article and be taken directly to the app instead of the add laden site.
Everytime I choose a random story it keeps bringing the same one up. Can this be resolved?
No ads = win
The Mash is the funniest site around - ten times better than The Onion. The app is great but as others have said, it keeps saying I need to buy it again. Sort it out please.
I purchased thus app via the Mash homepage. All was fine but now when I try to return to a menu it tells me the app is not licensed and I must buy it from the Google store. So I deleted it, re-installed it again but the same happens.
I've written to The Daily Mail to express my outrage. What about the little children that might come across this so-called 'App'? I've had to scrub my phone with bleach.
Will not share to Facebook. Crashes at share page. Very funny stories, but I want to share them. Answer my e-mail please, developers.
Problem below resolved itself a day later. Still the best news source in the UK. [It suddenly decided a sub needed paying when my playstore account told me-correctly-it had 365 days to run]
It wont toss you off and it makes a rubbish butt plug but It will make you larf...best pound you'll ever spend, unless you got a wnning scratch card. .or you really like super market trolleys..
I'm getting sick of seeing articles be shared by the Daily Mash FB page hours before they show up on this app (which I had to pay to use!). Sometimes, an article never makes it to the app at all! I'm glad I'm not solely reliant on the app, as otherwise I'd miss out on some decent articles. (N.b. I'm not referring to reposts of older articles; I've seen brand new content on FB which never showed up in the app) :(
Doesn't use the standard android share buttons, so can't really sure. The UI is a bit dated. The whole thing could do with a bit of attention.
My partners IPhone has more stories delivered daily than my paid for android app. Also a back feature would be good as it will randomly change stories at the slightest shake when in download random story

Great content and the recent issue with subscriptions was resolved over email with the developer. Great customer service - thanks.
