Beware of this app. How this thing is able to use so much data is beyond me. Uninstalling from my phone yet again. I can't trust this even to just work on wifi only - because at that point, I can just grab my tablet and use the same app. Of course, this app behaves very differently on Android and iOS - on my iPad this tries to get me to pay after a small number of articles are downloaded. But on my phone, somehow you can download 800+ and GBs worth!

For years I have been using this app for nth news feeds, and I have loved it, but today I hit my breaking point. I have not been able to read a single article without being prompted to install apps. I can live with a advert banner at the top or bottom of the screen, but common, launching the play store to install an Asian dating app is taking things too far. I am sad to see igeeky get removed from my device, but I just cannot stand this any more.

Used to like the app but now advertisements are making my phone buzz no stop anytime I have it open. Totally worthless

All the geek news I want from one app.

Loved the app for its great ability to gather all the latest news in tech. That was until recently when now it's hard to enjoy the app when every few seconds an ad interrupts you. For me, I'm moving on

Uses a ton of data. 1 GB in the background.

D70%
by D####:

THE BEST APP FROM APPLE AND NEWS SISTEM IN TECH.

S70%
by S####:

Can be somewhat intrusive. This app stores all data on internal storage despite the presence of external xSD memory card, and internal data storage takes up more space than the app itself! Also, app has a HUGE appetite for using cache.

I work for verizon, so I like to think I know quite a bit about these things. I downloaded the app and didn't even use it much. I noticed it was always alerting me to new articles. I thought this was just a nice gesture. Apparently it used nearly 4gb of data in one month. I went in and switched all the settings to WiFi only. I'll see if this helps.

Excellent!

I don't like the fact I can't have it download/update for certain sites only. Like pick & choose exactly what sites it's syncs to.

Very very good

Great app news sourced from diff tech sites

X70%

This app is great, keeps me up to date with all things tech. It is a bit of a battery hog, and for whatever reason when I installed it on my nexus 6 (after having no problems with this on my s4) it was updating via cellular data enough to eat up a whole gig on its own in 2 weeks. Still, keep an eye on it and its great.

All the new tech and gadgets, and just geeky stuff

I like that app, hasn't really crashed all that often; still crashes every once in a while but not near as bad as others

R70%
by R####:

My staple tech roundup app. Would recommend it to anyone interested in tech news from around the world.

R70%

This app is very useful esp for people who want to stay up to date with anything that is tech related.

W70%

I only had articles sync enabled over 4g and wifi for the rest. Nonetheless 1gb used in 1 week. Removed it. I'm giving it 2 stars and not one because it worked okish until this incident.

R70%
by R####:

This app doesn't seem to work in Korea. There are no articles.

Doesn't seem to work in Sweden. Can't find any articles.

One article comes lot of times so reduce it to don't eat data for better save money and environment (power saving) any how gadgets news very well

X70%

This app used 2GB of data in less than a week - somehow?! I have subsequently been charged an extra £12.50 on my phone bill!

F70%
by F####:

Quick and readable blocks so I can quickly scroll through headlines. It will be nicer if I could remove apple based blogs.

X70%
by X####:

Love this app! Absolutely the best tech news app in existence. So much better than the iPhone version.

X70%
by X####:

My daily go-to app for tech news. Doesn't get any better than this

X70%
by X####:

I have been using it for the last couple of months. Very good app. Good job!

X70%
by X####:

Sucked my data plan in one day without even asking for any sort of permission. Never ever use on mobile data. And the interface also looks quite cluttered.
