What are users saying about DO Button by IFTTT

C70%
by C####:

Using it with my LIFX, but it's very slow to respond and does not indicate if lights are off or on.

C70%
by C####:

Doesn't work every time and the lag is considerable. Would also like the ability to be able to change the widget icon on launchers with that function.

C70%
by C####:

Would be nice to know the current device's status.

C70%
by C####:

I love this app, I love all the things it supports and the wide range of channels great job guys!

C70%
by C####:

Honestly, I did not think that was even possible. A non working app, operated by another non working app. Add non-working customer support, and you have the perfect trifecta of failure.

O70%
by O####:

While ifttt on the whole is excellent, the Do button just says "email yourself a gif" and then crashes. Uninstallung and reinstalling hasn't helped.

C70%
by C####:

DID NOT WORK 1st time used ,

C70%
by C####:

Can't name small widgets or change icon for button. Buttons are two big on main screen. Not pretty. Need other layouts. I don't find it too useful the way it is.

C70%
by C####:

On Samsung S5 the android device recipe "show me the way to go home" is not launching maps navigation at all. Yet this recipe works fine for the same location on my wife's Samsung J5...? Can't work out the problem.

K70%
by K####:

You should be able to invoke the recipes via android shortcuts. This app has a widget but doesn't use the Android shortcut API, so you can't easily call it from other parts of the OS. I'd love to be able to have Tasker call a Do recipe for example, or assign it to a hardware button. Android has supported shortcuts since 1.0, why doesn't this app? Seems really silly, this is obvious for this app.

The DO button makes testing devices and features easy before implementing them in IFTTT. I couldn't be any happier!

C70%
by C####:

It worked at first. I made a recipe to text my girlfriend a custom message for things like when I drive or when I get home and for the first like 3 times it sent the text instantly but now there is like a 5 min delay for the past like 4 times for each recipe. This might be just because of my own custom message and not using an ingredient but I don't think so. If so, they should fix that. I'm going to try one more time later and if the delay persists, I am going to uninstall. EDIT: Uninstalled

C70%

This app is basically the future. But there's just way too many bugs and issues for it to be completely functional, which is a big regret. Hope the developers can smooth things out so that it can be perfect.

Not impressed. They've obviously spent a lot of time and money getting in bed with software developers and hardware manufacturers to create channels to turn your lights on and off and change the thermostat, but they've ignored the really simple stuff, like placing a call to a contact. What person in a decent relationship wouldn't want a home screen shortcut to call their spouse? What field sales rep wouldn't want a shortcut to dialing someone to check in, or to ask for something in negotiations? What parent wouldn't want a DO button to dial a child when they're worried about them? Infinitely more universally useful than tweaking a specific brand of thermostat, and yet utterly ignored. And yet they enable liars by providing a fake call to get you out of a bad date or a meeting. Go figure.

Scrolling through a long list to find the right button to press is extremely inconvenient. I would add buttons to my home screen, but I use too many at once for it to be organized. Please, please make a button array for not only quick pressing, but quick finding. Maybe even some folders or some sort of organization would be an amazing addition to this app in my opinion. Again, its a great start- this app could be extremely powerful, especially in use for multiplatform customizable universal remotes.

I wish I could get this application to work. I've uninstalled and installed it many times. Each time the same result. When I click on add recipe the collections tab never loads it just keeps spinning. Adding recipes online works and they can be seen by the mobile app. When going to the developers website their support area is very weak basically it just states uninstall and install again. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with Android 6.0.1

C70%
by C####:

.... But when I open the app there is no direction on how to create a Do recipe. Edit: I found the button to make recipes, it's in the bottom right hand corner. Please make it more obvious!

K70%
by K####:

Don't use,all the functions but love what I do use.

C70%
by C####:

Awesome idea for an app. I use it primarily for Smartthings. It's pretty quick to activate what I have set up. Widget option is very cool. BUT, I've added a couple outlets and switches to my system since installing app and the new ones aren't showing up as options in the app. Also needs a few more options for some of the commands. I have a couple map buttons but that's really hit or miss whether it works or works quickly.

L70%
by L####:

Tried simplest recipe, the one that gets you out of an awkward situation, and phone received no call.

C70%
by C####:

I love being able to trigger actions on my phone but building "do" actions through the web is not something I've been able to figure out which is annoying. I have to do a lot of manual copying to make do buttons because this doesn't integrate well with other ifttt tools. Also "do" buttons aren't icons so I can't put them in folders.

C70%
by C####:

Very nice if you don't need to trust it to arm your alarm. I get inconsistent reliability.

C70%
by C####:

Using recipes to track personal behavior/task data in Google drive spreadsheets (e.g. intake of medicine, water) Inclusion of geolocation and timestamp fields work well. (Nexus 5x)

C70%
by C####:

This apps is brill I can add buttons to my smartphone to control my Nest and my TV it's really handy thanks IFTTT

C70%
by C####:

The whole full screen button thing is superfluous and time consuming. On the recipie list you should be able to execute buttons right there.

C70%
by C####:

This app has been super handy with my wife's pregnancy and now tracking the baby schedule. Many other awesome uses as well

L70%
by L####:

Great companion for Logitech Harmony Smart Control, and a good UI for automation in general. Would be nice in a future version if the large widgets could be "locked" to a specific recipe, and if widgets could be configured to toggle between two recipes (eg: on/off). Keep it up IFTTT!

C70%
by C####:

I use it daily to instantly record events like workouts and to send text messages. very handy!

X70%

I use Do Note all the time, but can't find a good use for Do Button. I would really like a button to set my alarm for "one hour from now" as I use a 1-hour timer all the time. App seems to work properly, just can't find a good reason to use it.

C70%
by C####:

A lot like Do note without the symmetry of working together. Had to recreate and duplicate too many recipes.Nice idea, not ready for prime time.

C70%
by C####:

Mostly I use it to set specific scenes with my Lifx bulbs, but it works brilliantly.

A70%
by A####:

I don't have any issue's with this app or any of my existing networked devices.

M70%
by M####:

Easy to set up, easy and quick to use.

A70%
by A####:

In the previous version of this app, you could enable one of 3 buttons without having to scroll through one's buttons. Current version adds clicks, and makes this less appealing, in an ease of use perspective.

C70%
by C####:

Honestly the options suck and this app is useless. Id like it if yall make this able to move all your files from one cloud storing site to another like from dropbox to onedrive etc.

X70%
by X####:

It works often but sometimes fails for no good reason. Wish there was more detail on the button.

H70%
by H####:

When it world it does exactly what it says on the tin, but sometimes the "show me how to get home" gives me the success tick but doesn't do anything

A70%
by A####:

Does everything I tell it to do and doesn't give me any lip! :-)

C70%
by C####:

There is a huge delay after you click a button. A huge feature that is missing is simple activation of apps or widgets.

Genius! Works great on my Galaxy Note 4. Can the developers please add the option to adjust the size & transparency of the floating button as well as showing the status of icons, e.g. whether on or off for the lights.
