Crashes every time I try to save as a notification sound.

Application works great on lite..add the upgrade and it freezes. Hope that helps.

Sorry guys. Worked relatively well despite lag on my SGS3. But on Nexus5 doesn't work at all. Tried uninstall reinstall, clear data, different voice synthesiser, nothing.

Just one issue: 9/10 times I tap the Android robot and nothing happens. If I type something else, then exit then return, THEN it works... Strange...

It is a very disappointing app. It will load a pdf file; however only every 20th page works fine. All the other pages are blank.

Purchased this to have it read PDFs while I drive. Did not function as expected. Added a lot of unnecessary words such as " double space" and it couldn't read more than a page without x. Waste of 2 bucks.

Does not work in the one pdf I tried, argument exception. I did have fun translating text to different languages and back again with the kids.

Added this app to my top 10 list of must have. Share any text to have it read to you. Very useful. Nice fix too.

It did not translate the document as the devs claim. It only showed a bunch of jibberish. Been scammed

It wouldn't open the pdf I wanted to be read aloud. I cut and paste text into the text window, but when I "press the android" to read it nothing happens. Completely disappointed.

Selects the wrong Google TTS voice every time. Only reads US English which kinda sucks.

Application works great and translation function is awesome.

I love how you can make it have a British accent!!! But I wish it would do more, yuh know be more of your all over personal phone servant. I just got it tho so I may still discover even more good things in it than I have.

I have spent days looking for exactly this app! My search is finally over! Thank you ideedle! I sound horrible and wanted to record ringtones that would let me know easier which app was trying to notify me. So now when a Facebook message comes in I really know it's Facebook. I know we can have different tones for each application, but can you really remember what tone is for which app. Now it will use a voice of my choosing and actually say the name of the app. Or whatever I want it to announce. Great!

I wanted this out to review my notes so that I could study during a long drive. Unfortunately the app is incapable of reading a large amounts of text.

I have ALS and like most it affects my hands. The dialogue window does not resize when typing so the keyboard covers the talk button and other controls making me constantly open and close the keyboard making far too hard to use with my bad hands. So far i think Type and Speak is best Android app for ALS.

this is ok for a few words/ sentences. but 80% of the times where I'm trying to play a bigger files., like scripts etc. it doesn't work! so I waisted My money worth this app I feel!

Looked for an app to read pdf ebooks out loud while I drive. The boastful claims of the developers, at least for this feature, are quickly disintegrated once you try to use this app. Repeated browsing for a pdf file is a pain. There is no way to save your location in the pdf file, so if you're reading a long book in segments, you have to painfully browse to the file each time, then manually page through the file using the non-friendly interface, to find the location where you stopped last time. The whole process is user-interface torture. Furthermore, the app translates pdf to text then reads it out loud, but pdf contains all kinds of text markings that should not be read out (like carriage return, html-like markings). After 10 minutes I want my money back. The technology may be promising but the current implementation is not product-quality. 1 star.

I bought this app because I was looking for a Read-Out-Loud app quickly to read through some PDF documents. When I did a search, this app came up. However, I realized it was pretty unrealiable. Some of the issues I had are: 1) It crashes several times. 2) Memory issue - If you've open multiple documents before then you can have a situation where it's reading the previous document instead of the current document. This is so weird. 3) There have been no updates since I installed this app. If you are looking for a more reliable Read-out-loud app, take a look at an app called ezPDF Reader

Great Utility. Overall this is a wonderful tool to have and use. I bought it at the same time I downloaded SVOX, and I bought one SVOX's premium voice packs as well. So all of that in combination, really makes this app a joy to use. You don't of course have to install all of the extra things I did to you use this app. They just complemented it well and suited my needs. I find it very fun to type in ridiculous things and have them spoken back to me, especially with the SVOX Dark Lord voice, just hilarious! And the ability to save what you type, in wave format, well it's really what puts the icing on the cake for this application. I have noticed at times, though, at least on my tablet. That the app starts to not function properly and the little enter/play button just does not work at all, it gets stuck. Actually, even on my phone, the only way too get the app to play. Is to hit the Return key on my phone's keyboard. So besides that issue, I'm cry satisfied with this app. A feature request for me, though, would to be able to choose the bit and khz for the exported .wav file.

I will be rendered mute for a week or so by invasive corrective surgery. It looks like it will be useful for communicating under those circumstances, but lacks many simple features that could vastly improve usability. It desperately needs resizeable/rearrangeable buttons on the soundboard. Adding/removing categories would also help. Most of the negative comments that I see are apparently from people with reading comprehension difficulties unable to understand the purpose of this app.

Don't blame the app for the failings of Adobe PDF readers tell them you want page resume I think some ppl need to learn who is to blame for what and blame the culprits in this case Adobe
