Anki is perhaps the best memorisation software for self directed study. It's just a shame this app lacks the function to colour text when adding new cards. As such I really can only use it for reviews and need to add cards via the desktop app. I'm not sure why this feature is missing on Android, it shouldn't be very process intensive. If it were added I would be rating this one 5 stars.

Wish it had bold, italic and underline buttons. Also wish it had a button to create the cloze brackets instead of manually having to type them. The apple version does both of these things. I have to create cards on Apple and study them here because the android version is better at reviewing (shows estimated times, studied time is summed up). That's all this app needs to make it perfect. It's literally a small fix so I really hope the development team adds it.

Nothing beats it for me. This is the perfect app for anyone who has to take a comprehensive final at the end of the semester. Only giving you the cards you're having the most trouble with more often. Just keep slowly studying everything each day and by the time the final rolls around you're already prepared for it.

The app is great and very useful. Unfortunately, you cannot set the media folder to the external sd card. Often times I run out of space on my phone because I use media-heavy decks. I'd like it more if it had the option to install on the external sd

I love this app. It's simple to use, and the SRS system is so helpful. The only problem is that the system for using pictures is very awkward. Because you can't actually upload a picture, just the picture name, it tends to get pictures confused, causing me to have to remake many cards. Other than that, it's a wonderful tool.

N70%
by N####:

Great app, but for me, it doesn't push notifications until I open the app. Which makes it almost useless, because I'm very forgetful. Edit: so if you put the widget on your screen this fixes the problem.

There is a bug! When I tap on the input field and start entering an answer, the input field loses focus. This does not always happen, but very often. Sometimes this opens the card editing mode. It is very annoying. (Google Keyboard, Swift Keyboard etc.)

S70%
by S####:

After hours creating cards, my downloaded photos no longer save to the note and random pictures from other cards appear with each new note. Lots of wasted effort.

Q70%
by Q####:

Was 5 stars until the new update. Now when you study it doesn't flip the card. It shows you the front and you have to scroll down to see the back. Kinda annoying when you have 300 or so Japanese words to study. #sorethumb

Best software to assist memorization. Wish I had this when I was in school. Can help learn a language, facts, history, biology, math, whatever. You can easily get started with prebuilt decks or create your own. Anki is designed for remembering stuff long term so while it's invaluable for cramming it works best over time. After 3 years of using Anki I'm still surprised at what I can remember. Using Anki is like building muscle memory for your brain.

I love this app! It really helps a lot when it comes to remembering things. Would be great if you also added a function similar to the one desktop version has - cards multiple choosing to move them all at once.

D70%
by D####:

I use this app a lot. It is complicated learning to create deck and cards, and one needs to be alert if one syncs several devices. After much experience I now create input as tab separated files on my computer and import them. I also include a sequence number as the sort field (not displayed on cards) as otherwise changes to the sort field create a new card.

O70%
by O####:

Human memory algorithm included. I use this app every day for learning and reviewing vocabulary in several languages. Not only does it keep my score for each card, but Anki bases its schedule for showing me the cards on my score and the algorithm for human memory -- when and how often we need to review new material. Superb.

T70%
by T####:

Its really great but I wish it had more tools such as writing in italic or bold fonts. I especially need folders to organize my decks into subjects, too bad it's lacking here. Another thing is that I don't get my notification unless I open the app, which makes it a bit useless.

S70%
by S####:

SRS is great for helping manage large amounts of flashcards without feeling like you're being overwhelmed. Of course, if you miss a day or two it piles up quickly, but that's user error ain't it?

S70%
by S####:

I can't believe it's free. I used Anki for exam study. I downloaded the program for my windows PC, and would make flash cards as I study. They then sync to my ankiweb account which also syncs to my phone where I would review the flashcards when desired. The better you remember something the longer the interval between showing you flashcards - I cannot rate this feature enough, and, it's free!

by M####:

I love how it can be used for language learning, but it does have some faults. The main thing that I find to be inconvenient is the lack of ability to add downloaded audio. It only allows you to record yourself, which is not helpful for language learners. Please fix this

L70%
by L####:

If there was a way to make the program harass me to study, then I would give it 6 stars. It's truly a necessity for anyone learning language.

Packed with features, I think this is the best flash cards app. Quizlets is also very good but it has many limitations. Ankidroid allows it's users to edit (bold, italics, colour, photos, audio etc.) and move their cards anyway they like (if you have installed the PC app too). This is what made me to switch to ankidroid. The UI could have been more user-friendly though.

One of the most amazing apps in all mobile ecosystems! Has a really good algorithm. Loved the black theme. Kept my AMOLED screen running for 20mins at only 2%battery. However, I wish the app was more attractive with material design. And for stylus smartphones I wish there were more options to make the white board input more customizable including brush thickness adjustments. Since I learn kanji writing is important. All in all an amazing app. Keep up the good work.

by S####:

Great app! Would be really nice to allow a third column which lets you set a hint, or notes which you can view as you are tested. Also, reading from external SD card not supported is a missing basic. Great work otherwise

S70%
by S####:

This app helps to learn all the things you can imagine. It's feature rich, highly customizable, and because it uses Leitner method, it's very effective!

I have updated review after using for 3+ years... Original Review: love how it knows when to bring the cards back. Works terrific on S4 Updated Review: Now using on S7. Still love it, but the developers make it way to difficult to report problems or feature requests when using on mobile and there is basically no user help - just a forum. If developers are reading: I need a way to reset my entire deck to start over. I have 2000+ cards and my review times are ungodly long and no longer helpful (some cards haven't come back in over 4 months). Also the tags are still there for decks I long ago deleted. So that means I have to slog through to hundreds if EMPTY tags to get to the ones I am actually using. I need a way to see if a particular tag is empty and then delete it.

by S####:

This app is so difficult to understand how to get started. It's very user unfriendly. Can't figure out why it's become so popular.

S70%
by S####:

Works great. But recently, doesn't display the card's front when I hit 'show answer' when being quizzed on the card's back.

S70%
by S####:

I have been using it for some time now. And this is a great app. However, I would love it even more if there were some features which could motivate you to revise your flashcards. Like some sort of reward point system or something like that, which gives a positive reinforcement to learning. That would be JUST PERFECT!

S70%
by S####:

Very useful, can carry your revision everywhere with you. One suggestion: could you make taking photos/images for flashcards easier? For example, provide a menu or file manager type function to delete images, see previews etc.. Thanks!

tolle lernapp basierend auf lernkarten, braucht etwas einarbeitung da seht komplex einsatzbar, lässt aber dann kaum wünsche offen um schnell viel wissen in sehr kurzer zeit anzueignen. vielen dank an die entwickler

In a deck i want to see all questions. But it shows only one by one questions with sequence from older to new. How can I fix that? If i have many questions first i have to go through all questions to see new question.

V70%

It helps a lot on my studies but it kills time whenver I suspend each card. Wish you have a select all button

B70%
by B####:

An amazing app all around. Its unbelievably useful to keep track of what i need work on and what is easy. If there's anything I would say negatively about it, it's that it has a set time when everything resets that can't be adjusted.

L70%

Html code is shown in notes' contents, which makes it difficult to edit them and cards with furigana appear wrong because nbsp isn't recognized as furigana separator

Its not working for me at all. Tapped on get shared deck. Crashed. Then tapped on register. Crashed..

S70%

I like it very much, but I hate that I can't do folders in which I could put moredeks from the same chapter.

V70%

As a medical student, I find this app invaluable. I love having my cards synced and available to study on the go. The customization and ease of use are perfect, and I can even edit cards on this program. 5/5.

S70%

Addon features especially for notes containing list (cloze overlapper) were cards are shown in sequence is a very much needed addition. Please consider it in your future updates

S70%

Love it. However, can anyone tell me how to change the font from the app? I am studying Japanese kanji. But it shows the Chinese way to write them. Can't seem to find a way to change it.
