Joe & Charlie - AA Big Book

Exactly what I need right now. Would rather it all be free of course, but definitely still worth 3 dollars

I love Joe & Charlie. Can't remember how I found them but I put them into my music library on my computer so I could transfer it to many of my phones and friends phones. I love how they talk about the steps explaining them with examples and much humour. My wife is not in the program but comes from a dysfunctional home and was always listening to them to my surprise as she could relate and laugh with them learning as they made it seem like a disease not a bad behaviour harming others purposely. I have purchased this app 3 times it stops giving me the premium package I paid for somewhere along the way. And I have to pay for it again. I love what it says too, don't risk your sobriety buy the premium package I wonder if Joe and Charlie know this, don't think they would like it. Order the tapes or cds and stay away from the app.

It's really awesome content and easy to use. Improvements I would like is if it would scroll the text to follow the audio and if it would remember where I left off. This is an often repeated series so being able to reset it as if it hasn't been read yet would help to track progress every time it's started over. Minor stuff, I really love Joe and Charlie perspectives.

I love Joe and Charlie!! They really give you a full understanding of the steps and the big book. I have paid more for drinks so I don't think $2.99 is a big deal, I do wish you could bookmark though, but I just take a note in the notepad on my phone as to where I stopped. I love that I can read along! Perfect for the "recovery junkie" on the go! :) Thank you!

The app has too many weaknesses to give it 5 stars, but the greatness of Joe & Charlie and the features the app does have, make it well worth 4 stars. The weakness are no bookmarks, occasional crashes, and auto play doesn't work.

For anyone who wants to study the big book as it was meant to be studied, this is the way to do it! My only worry is whether the money for this purchase is going where it's supposed to be going.

I'm able to listen to the powerful and insightful commentary in order as it was reported so many years ago. I have several copies on the lessons on cd, but often get confused as to what order they should be listen.

There is nothing better than the Joe and Charlie tapes. I recommend them to my sponsees and I have never had one tell me they didn't like them. thank you for fixing this application. These tapes are invaluable to anyone serious about changing their lives. You could add one thing and it would be 5 stars, and that's a bookmark ability in the Big Book.

Just as Bill said, hearing another alcoholic(s) share their experience strength and hope is the best and often ONLY way to GET the message. Their commentary is amusing and very helpful in remembering/understanding AA and the BB.

My sobriety date is 4/4/15, this app has been very helpful, and a cheaper alternative to the $30 CD/worksheet set found on other websites. Which I will get eventually, until then the $3 dollar is a safe and really cheap alternative to this. Good things will happen to you and all those around you.

If you are on the road to recovery I highly recommend the Joe and Charlie sessions, they really help you gain a firm understanding as to what this thing is all about! They make what seems complex and break it down so that even the most complicated people will grasp it easily!

So grateful I discovered Joe & Charlie! Great having them on my phone. Only criticism I have is I can't get off the app without restarting my phone every time!!!

For the person who is serious about working through the big book and expanding there understanding of the steps this saves time for people to busy to read the book because it can be listened to while your working, driving, or exercising!! Clever and surprisingly entertaining! Worth paying for the full version! Recovery app of the year!

I am using this app as part of my recovery in Overeaters Anonymous. It is invaluable. Wish I could bookmark my spot and have the option to automatically play all but those are minor things compared to the benefit from listening to these amazing guys.

These guys are awesome. Don't mind paying 3 dollars for the upgrade. That's not even the price of a drink. The auto play doesn't work but I don't mind that either. It works if you work it.

Disgusting to charge to "unlock" when 1. It's marketed as "FREE" but most disgusting is 2. These fellows (since deceased) never charged and would never charge to listen to the message of Recovery. Shame on you.

I listen to them every night before I go to sleep & they help prepare my attitude for the morning :)

I absolutely love this app. Charlie and Joe have so much knowledge and humor that not only do they personally relate to the Big Book but they made even the most basic parts interesting. I get something new out of it every time I listen to it. A definite must have for my tool box!

The best app for the newcomer or nearly newcomer or even the old timer. All you need for your daily reading or chairing a meeting. Plus great commentary with humor and spot on info. Seriously, download it today.

God Bless you both and the creators of the technology to be able to access it and highly regard bill and Bob who was inspired and listened and put the action on to create such a life saving programme and spiritual book, but especially God for inspiring these people which has not only saved billions of lives but more importantly spared so many families of alcoholics the heart break and devastation and the children trauma that develops problems which they take through their lives. I love the ability to stream this through my cars Bluetooth. I get recovery on the road! Just wish they would add a feature that would save your last place you were listening. Everytime you close the app you lose your spot. Other than that the paid version is great.

Auto-play does not work, for an app charging $3 that's not good enough.

I have found this app extremely helpful in the early stage of my journey. I never would have read this much in this short of a time and it had such necessary info for me to hear early on. The only draw back I've found so far is that if I am listening and the phone rings, once I answer it continues to play. I have to manually stop it.

Have learned so much listening to this app they have a way of making you understand the meanings of the big book the steps while making you laugh

Great recovery tool !

For every Recovery toolkit. I didn't fully understand the Steps until Joe and Charlie. My first experience with them was a very expensive set of cassette tapes which was worth every penny. To have them for 3 bucks on my phone is incredibly groovy. Agree that the app could use a bit of work. Like having Auto Play automatically play the next chapter and a sleep timer for those of us who like to go to listening.

The app has great content but audio quality is poor and no option to bookmark.

Joe and Charlie are wonderful speakers. They explain in ways I can visualize my illness. I listen to them for many reasons; but, the main one it's to stay sober!

Love this app. Love me some Joe and Charlie. No problems with it.

I am only an initiate Step Worker but this app is a great resource. I love listening to these two guys and draw daily inspiration from the time I spend "with," them.
