Ibotta: Cash Savings & Coupons for Android
Easy to use. You're already shopping. You might as well make money doing it! The app has a lot of different store options to choose from, and even covers local chains. I just cashed out a $25 Amazon gift card today! Sign up with the code "MYKDPIA" and you'll get 10 dollars when you claim your first rebate (which can be as small as a gallon of milk)
I just started using this app. It was good but recently, I had an issue that arose. I did not think the outcome would go well, because I had to rely on contacting the support via their app, and I DO NOT like not being able to speak with some via phone when there is a concern that needs to be addressed. But I must say that the staff worked with me and resolved the concern. They are great! One thing to be aware of, you must have a physical cash register receipt...Not an invoice or email receipt.... as proof of purchase, in order to receive the rebate.
This is how I used to feel: Love this. Hardest part is me remembering to do it lol!! I do wish that "any brand" deals counted towards bonuses. But still I'm making $ off things I would already be buying! But now I have been trying to cash out my money to PayPal for 5+ days and can't get a verification text code to even get to my money. And you customer service is not helping at all sending me repeat emails with the same NO help message. Please just help me get my money or send me a check or whatever so I can become with this.
Getting a couple bucks back is great. The app runs a bit sluggishly on my HTC One M9, but it gets the job done; product scanning is always easy and accurate. But averaging just 1-2% back, with the high payout minimum, it takes a while, and I'm not sure it's worth my time browsing coupons and scanning products. My eligible products seem to have diminished compared to a few months ago.
10.00 code: dmwpkhn. Not gonna lie, when I first tried Ibotta I assumed it would be a scam. I thought there's no way they'll give you real money just for scanning things you already buy, well there is! So far I have earned over $70, thank you Ibotta! Don't forget to use the code at the top for an extra $10 to start off with! Happy savings everyone!
Great app, lots of store options, shop smart, do some browsing and be patient it adds up around Christmas time. We got a $10 rebate for signing up and buying one name brand item from a store, and then $5 per friend referral. At a minimum you can get $1.25 for each grocery trip if you get any brand of: eggs, bread, milk, juice and bananas (literally essential items we buy twice a month). The rest are all name brand items and you gotta browse the other stores in the app for decent deals. Can't complain about free money!!
This app used to be very easy to use with quick turnaround. For the past 2 weeks it's been very slow to process receipts and it takes me 5 or more tries to upload a receipt. Keeps saying loading. Also there used to be better rebates but lately there aren't as many common items- most are new brands that I haven't heard of and are not available in all stores.
Edit: Use the code rwbqtid to earn an extra $10 when you redeem your first rebate. They have really improved the app and earned an additional star from me. Pretty user friendly and consistent. I dropped it down a couple stars because they've increased the limits in which you can cash out from $10 to $20 and they've deceased the produce rebates drastically. That combined with a lack of many vegan options and there's not a lot I can use this app for.
EQFUXWO is my code, use it and receive 10 dollars added to your first rebate! I was a bit skeptical at first but this app has totally been a game changer!!! So easy to use, and I get rebates on the things I actually need to buy! I've gotten up to 13 dollars added to my account from just a quick run to the store, and the varieties of gift cards to choose from is a huge plus too. I use my gift cards and get rebates from what I buy with them! It's a win win! Good luck shopping future IBottas!!
Rebates are good. Be careful though. Sometimes they don't calculate properly. Do a manual add before cashing out. Also sometimes all of your items will be pending but don't always get credit for all with no notification otherwise. You will need to resubmit. Customer service is pleasant but not customer based it seems. No apologies for simple errors and in one instance complete oblivion when that was addressed. Anyways my point, be on the look out for any mishaps.
I don't know why I didn't start doing this sooner. Not only does it save money on things I already have to buy, it incentivizes buying the name brands I like, too, which is more often than not a serious indulgence on a budget as tight as mine. (And a good business strategy for Ibotta.) The app works great. I've had no problems. It isn't spammy. On my S6, it doesn't lag, make the phone get hot, or drain the battery. The barcode scanner works even in poor lighting and is very fast. Well-designed and easy to navigate. Does what it says on the tin and does it well.
So far so good! I love not having to try and remember to use my clipped coupons!! I just simply scan the barcode of the item purchased, then scan my receipt! Easy peezy!! And as if saving my family and I money is great enough, the app makes it fun for my 11 year old son to go grocery shopping with me! He enjoys helping me find items at the store now! It's become like a game for us!(who can find the item first?) Lol! Saving money + happy kid while grocery shopping = VERY happy mom!! Thanks, Ibotta!!
THE PEOPLE WHO CREATED THIS POS APP SHOULD TRY SIGNING UP ON IT!!!!! IT WILL NOT GET PAST TRYING TO INPUT MY BIRTHDAY. IT KEEPS LOSING ALL THE INFO I INPUT BEFORE THE BIRTHDAY SECTION BECAUSE YOU SIMPLY CAN NOT INPUT YOUR BIRTHDAY WITHOUT FLIPPING THRU THEIR RETARDED CALENDAR THAT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY!!!!! WTF???!!! Update ... you try doing that .... all I get is a pop up calendar that I have to swipe thru for forever it seems like .... it would be nice to just manually input the info without the ridiculous calendar. And since the calendar doesn't function properly I can not get past it to sign up for an account.
I loved the app until my mom tried using it with a referral code and it will not give her the bonuses or send the referral bonus to me because she does not have a device that can install ibotta on. It should not matter what device a person uses to sign up on as long as they are using a valid email address and referral code that is what should qualify as a new account....
Wow. Not what I thought it would be...this is the real deal. The app allows us to unlock great rebates from all the places where we shop, even gas station purchases, and then we transfer over the accumulated holdings to our linked PayPal account. This amounts to ACTUAL savings; buy for 20 dollars, apply the rebate, watch the cash come back home. Great Service, Fantastic Idea, and qualifies as an actual Consumer Protection Resource. Thank you!
After verifying 4 purchases, my account balance has not increased. I know the "Did you do this... Did you do that... Is it within the proper time frame." The only thing I did not do is contact customer service. When I sign up for an app, I want it to work. I don't want to have to bother work customer service. It would be an awesome app if it did work for me though.
App is easy to use, and it's awesome to get paid for buying stuff then watching a short ad or answering one question. The cash i earn gets added to my account almost immediately. The Barcode scanner makes it easy to input products. I wish more things that I buy were available for rebates more often. Many of the rebates are for expensive, organic versions of normal products, or specialty products that not many people use. The rebates I use the most are those that apply to any brand (of milk, for example), and those that apply to fresh produce, but these are not always available.
Only thing I don't like is that a lot of the items are stuff I've never heard of let alone ever seen in any store in my area. Also all the beer, can't buy it in normal stores around here. But other than a few ehhh rebates the rest is good
Still too much booze and packaged processed foods, not enough produce and fresh foods! Other than that its easy and user-friendly. I rarely find things I'd buy and now even less so with only one produce item listed at a time. Will probably stop using now
I am in my 60's and earned about $125 with this app. I scanned the receipts unsuccessfully several times and they told me I had too many errors and I couldn't use this application any longer. I had cashed in the dollars twice. SO GLAD I DID THIS> I was out $85 with no recourse. NO appeals. I think I would have rather used the coupons and gotten the cash off already!!!
I was going to give this a 5, but I've noticed that it will randomly update products throughout the day. I bought 2 things that had rebates but by the time I got home, in a matter of less than an hour that I saw them, they were no longer available. Other than that, great app and great redemption places
Using this app with the extreme couponing techniques I've learned has saved me so much money! Easy to use with coupons on things I already buy. High dollar coupons mean we can try stuff we otherwise wouldn't. Instant transfer of money! Highly recommended!
I just joined and used app first time today ,3/31/17. I didn't open app on phone to remind myself of items I unlocked. so didn't use it properly yet (flat tire;ride; back in time for work) but loved way app enabled me to get a focused picture of register tape
qdskepr, code to join my team so we can help each other out. I shop alot since I have 4 teenagers in the house. Wish there was more of what I buy. Easy way to make some extra cash for what you already buy. Who wouldn't like extra cash. Coupon savings and make money.
You don't get points or tokens like most other apps, that you have to watch thousands ads just to get a few points or tokens, this one gives you real money wile you shopping, its like a coupon book that you can save money and trade it later for gift cards. I love it
At first I thought this app would be a scam. I tried it and so far with the help of the startup bonus I have over $ 20.00. More items are being added to shop for thanks Ibotta. I saved 80.00 and transferred to my PayPal to startup my Traci Lynn Jewelry consultant business!
Bought new phone, provided ALL recent phone numbers, and still can't verify my number so I can start cashing out again. Piss poor, automated customer service doesn't allow for any other form of verification.
The app is easy to use and they have a very quick turnaround for processing once you submit a receipt! I have bought a few things that fit the description, but the app wouldn't except them when I tried to claim the rewards. To offset this I just check barcodes with the app while I am in the store. Overall it's a great app!
I used to love this app but recently its all organic and random stuff i NEVER buy. There used to be milk, peppers, onions things normal people buy and lately i havent used this at all. Unless you are vegan and drink a lot of alcohol this app is not even useful anymore.
This is a very bad app. When you will redeem your money they would not give you . They will say some error is going on like this. This is just waist of time. I was supposed to redeem my $80 an they deactivate my account. Now I can't even log into my account. They are not even replying my emails I have sent them many times.
Editing my review since this app has gone from almost useless to completely useless. I used to be able to get at least 25 cents on milk and cereal, but I can't even get that anymore. My last few grocery trips have yielded zero rebates so I'm done with this app. It's ok if you shop a lot, but for people like me who buy generics and stay cheap it's pretty useless. Plus, you have to earn at least $20 before you can cash it out. It's also incredibly slow and laggy, but that could be my phone I guess.
I decided to try this app again after a long hiatus, and am disappointed to find most of the rebates are for expensive items. I suppose if you spend a lot on pricey groceries, it would be a good app, but not for someone on a tight budget. Also, the scanner doesn't work. Tried for ten minutes to scan an item, to no avail.
I don't know what has happened since I last reviewed this app, but customer service is useless the past couple months. They don't read anything, they just send a form response based on keywords that doesn't solve the problem. I've had two instances lately where a product fit every parameter of the rebate but the upc wasn't in the system, and their "fix" for adding them is bogus. It never works. Update 4/2/17 If I scan something in the store and it doesn't match even if it fits the description in every way, I don't buy it. Take note, manufacturers.
I love "saving" money, so this is app is great for that. One thing that I think could be different is being able to do multiples on some items. Who wants to buy just one yogurt (example)Even if the rebate is a little less.
I linked my store card up to the app and it credited me one shopping trip. After that..I open all kind of rebates and buy them and it has not credited me one single penny. It's a broke app. Be careful
This app used to be better Just a few months ago they have you money back for things most people actually buy like any brand eggs, milk and bread, but now it's random stuff that I wouldn't go out of my way to purchse... kinda disappointed! I really thought it was cool at first!
I reffered like three friends of mine and i helped them and they all put my reffereal code. And they did not get 10 dollars and i never got my 5 dollars from each. Ibotta has been slacking for a year now. I wont give it 5 stars till i get my 5 dollars each from my three friends and they get their money as well.
I wish the rebates that were available for walmart were also available for Kroger. I miss out on a lot because I rarely shop at walmart anymore. And I'm also having issues with the app. It will not open and load hardly at all anymore unless I'm on Wi-Fi. I used to have no problems pulling it up in the store
I wouldn't recommend this at all. When I went to Walmart it was fine but once I went to wawa or best buy it screwed me. I wanted my 2% cash back but I can only get it if I scan the qr code AT CHECKOUT!! total bull

Used the app for first time today. It was simple and fast to learn and use. My issues are that I cannot add people to my group if they are already members. I also would like to be able to make a list in the app, and check them off as I add the items to my shopping cart. Currently you can only see items that you've unlocked, and there is no way to "check off" those you've picked up.
