法鼓文化简体版

“法鼓”一词，佛典中有多处提及。如《妙法莲华经》云：“惟愿天人尊，轮无上法轮，击于大法鼓，而吹大法螺，普及大法雨，度无量众生，我等咸归请，当演深远音。”所谓“击于大法鼓”就是敲响佛法净化心灵的鼓声，使人心获得安乐与平静。由于法鼓山的地理形貌，犹如一个纵卧的大鼓，故引经典之喻，取其似鼓之形，“法鼓山”之名遂由此而得也。
