About IBM Connections
IBM® Connections is social software for business. It enables you to build a network of colleagues and subject matter experts, and then leverage that network to further your business goals. You can discuss ideas, work collaboratively on presentations or proposals, share photos or files, plan and track project tasks, and much more. IBM Connections is a server product that is deployed on your company intranet or the IBM Cloud. This IBM Connections mobile app extends access to that server for employees who are on the go directly from their Android™ device. This app can also be securely managed by your company administrator through server side policies.

In order to access your company Connections server, you will need a userid and password along with the URL address of the server. The app will prompt you for this information. To use this app, your company must have deployed IBM Connections 3.0.1 (or higher) with the latest APAR applied for mobile (Connections server 4.0 CR1 or higher is recommended). Connections 4.5 CR2 offers the highest level of performance and features. App management features are only available on servers which also have 3.0.1.1 CR2 or higher applied. Check with your company administrator if you aren't experiencing all of the capabilities described.
In order to access your Connections files on IBM Cloud Engage using the app:
- When you start the app tap IBM Connections Social for where you want to connect.
- Enter the userid and password for your account.
If you do not have IBM Connections deployed in your company, but want to try it out for free, just log into IBM Greenhouse, which is an IBM product trial site.
- Using your web browser go to http://greenhouse.lotus.com
- Tap on Sign up Today to create your userid and password.
- Download this app. When you start the app tap IBM Greenhouse for where you want to connect.
- Enter the userid and password that were created when you registered.
It is that simple to get started!
You can use the Connections app for accessing IBM tradeshow events. You can update your attendee schedule, network with colleagues, and share feedback about sessions too. Just look for the access link at the IBM events this year.
If you are an end user and experiencing a problem, please contact your company IT help desk. If you are a Connections administrator experiencing a problem, please open a PMR with your IBM customer number. I have uploaded mp4 videos on my community and was trying to view those videos on my Sony Xperia z5 premium (android 6.0.1) but was not able to. I didn't even get an option to download. For excel file editing, options to view/edit only appear after I downloaded IBM Editor. Was wondering if for videos, another app download is necessary? Kindly assist.

Su mayores inconvenientes: estabilidad: Look & feel y usabilidad. A diferencia de la App de correo (Verse), es muy inestable y genera mensajes de error muy frecuentemente, por ejemplo realizando búsquedas indicando que no hay conexión con el servidor. En Look & feel es demasiado plana en las actualizaciones de estado, sin posibilidades de personalizar la visualización, es como si en diseño hubieran contratado ingenieros y no diseñadores gráficos. En usabilidad es limitada en el manejo de actividades; no tiene aplicación para manejar eventos, que en la versión web a veces llaman eventos en otras sucesos. Todavía tiene mucho por mejorar para evitar el mensaje recurrente "IBM Connections se detuvo" y para que sea mas agradable su uso

Excellent APP. I moved form iOS to android. Works great, except for links from emails (open in mobile) are bringing up the app but with null, null in server address, user, etc. I checked with other colleagues. Those on Android have the same problem. iOS works as it should

Has any developer tried to use this app seriouly? E. g. if you try to find a document, you get huge icons, but the filename is truncated after some letters. That way, I get hundreds of documents presented looking equal to me. Software for information management should have information in mind (and useability). That way it is a typical IBM product.

Blogs, forum posts, etc. all work as expected but wiki pages in my company's installation do not display.

Links do not work on status updates or forums unless you are on mobile devise. If using a computer all links are obsolete. Really inconvenient!

App as such is good. However, the option to save the password is missing. I understand the security implications, but: when I need to open a link from Verse: 1. I need to log in gateway, 2. then a connections web page is open and I need to log in again, then, 3. Connections app opens and I need to enter the password again :( This just doesn't make sense since my phone needs to be password protected due to security policy.

Not able to see any contents on my wikis, communities and pages I'm following. Always the app gets crashed while navigating between communities . Worst experience ever. Still it is same as before. When are you going to fix this issue?
