The Championships, Wimbledon 2017 for Android
App is probably the best of the 4 GS apps but could use a bit of improvement. Player notifications do not always work. Clicking on a player should show more info, i.e when the next match is, and sometimes the results page doesn't update unless you clear the cache. But over all it is indispensable for following the tournament.
I thought this app was GREAT! I wasn't home all the time while the matches were being played, but I was still able to keep up on the action. The only reason I answered not sure to a couple of them is because I didn't try that feature yet. When I was home, I would try holding the phone up to the TV and the score would update a half a second quicker on my phone than on TV. GREAT JOB!
The app is good but designed porly. You have no option to search for your favourite players play schedule. It has a ton if features that i think a app for folowing a sport event should never have. No way of seei g when a player will have its match. All categories are mixed together with no system at all
Useful, but could do better. The most irritating feature so far is when you view a player's details and return to the previous page (showing the matches) it takes you to the top of the page instead of the match you were looking at. Please deal with this. And add a feature to see schedules, ideally. Thanks!
a little buggy, you can open a stale page 2 days later and it does not refresh. navigation from home screen is confusing. they had a cleaner app a few years ago. now uses a few ux metaphores at the same time, messy.
Irritating. The info provided I'd comprehensive but you do have to wait for it to update. The most irritating thing is that having chosen my favourite players, it insists on sending a message when they are warming up and after each set is completed. I've switched off all the notification settings but it still insists on sending scores of notifications. Annoying
I like it ok, but not as well as ATP and WTA app. I like history of players matches against each other, and if you got go back, it doesn't take you back to court you were looking at, but starts at the beginning. The news, photos, and shopping are good and easy to navigate.
It could be so much better. The other slam apps are so good. Every time I open it defaults to previous days order of play. Takes ages to refresh despite having opened the app yesterday still defaulted to Saturday's order of plat Y. Clunky and poor despite good graphics! You could do so much better!
Reinstalled app resolved some big issues I was having with the app. Would be great to broadcast live and choose between courts - example: Centre Court, Court 1 and Court 2. The app can take some time to load pages, but otherwise I am ok with the information I am looking for.
Notifications now all get sent twice, which is better than not at all I suppose, which was the case for the first few days. Google is much better for finding out the order of play and actual timings of games. Score notifications are received slightly ahead of games shown on the red button, so this app has ruined a few tense points for me! Could do with a few seconds delay to avoid spoilers. Ended up uninstalling it.
As a tennis fan I appreciate the vast contents and graphic presentation. Though the navigation is all over the place, and after almost two weeks of use, I still don't remember where pull-down and slide-in and pull-up menus are used. Given tje lifetime of the app, navigation should be kept simple IMHO.
Scores are not always up-to-date (does not refresh from previous use). Also the user interface is nothing like other apps which makes it hard to navigate at first
Very slow. Froze occasionally. News on and off court sub-par. Unfortunately the only reliable score sheet. Will uninstall right after singles finals
It looks good but fails on the basics. For instance watching live scores it seemed like quite a delay waiting for the score to update. Player bio info is basic and confusing - it's not very well laid out. Pretty disappointing
This app was racist. The first ten videos were of 10 white tennis players in a pre-tournment press conference. It wasn't until a minority player won that they showed a press conference. It was a full week of tennis before they started showing minority tennis players. The focus was entirely on 2 people Andy Murray and John Konta. It still is. I came here to watch alot of different players not just Wimbledon's faves. I can get that from an international tournament. I expect better from a Grand Slam Tournament. Btw over half of those 10 players are gone. You need to rethink your policy on diversity and inclusion. I am not impressed.
Even with good network speed, it takes ages to load. Order of play is not updated until the play starts. It is updated on website way before the matches begin. Basic engineering problem. You update database, every platform should get that information. I don't know whether you didn't hire good IT firm or there is a peculiar reason for making these pathetic apps. UI is good. The one star is just for UI
Scrolling down the Order Of Play is very unsmooth and jagged. This needs fixing, it just makes the app look half finished. Everything needs to be more fluid.
Absolute mess, it's slow, clunky and finding information you want is very difficult. Only good thing are highlights videos, and post game interviews.
Still the best app of the grand slams, but not much innovation or level raising content over previous years. Still a solid way to follow the action and it's a nice and stable app.
It's a decent app with a major lacking feature like whenever I check the player profile or match detail and go back to scores it starts from the top... it needs to be fixed because it's irritating.
The app is beautiful and so well put together. Among the slams, this is definitely the best looking and the most user-friendly app. When opened, the first thing that hits me is how vivid the visuals are. Beautiful.
It wants to take video and photos without the users knowledge. This is one of the permissions you give this app when installing
Great for stats and following a match when you can't watch it on tv. Sometimes the app stops updating, which is a glitch I'm sure they will sort out.
It was ok. I'd open it to see who was playing but it would always say "no play in progress", then I'd go to scores and all of the live matches were shown. So what is it, no matches or live scoring? That, and if you don't DISABLE NOTIFICATIONS this *+&*+#@ app will send you notifications for the matches you are recording at home, like the men's and women's final matches, I pick up my phone and boom, well, Venus lost, thanks for ruining that for me. Next day, Federer wins, again, thanks a lot. Next year they need to have the option, as soon as you open the app for the first time that asks "do you want us to ruin the outcomes for you by pushing notifications to you or do you not want us to ruin these matches?" You should have to OPT IN FOR NOTIFICATIONS.
Major Tennis event but this app is designed as club tennis event. Don't mind paying if it provides relevant information.
Order of play so slow. Can't even get schedule of play the evening before. ATP app does give next day schedule.
Disappointing app. I used this both as someone visiting Wimbledon and just keeping up to date on our days. The best aspect was the live updates which were prompt. However when matches finished they disappeared from the live scores tabs then took a while before appearing in results. The app is poor at refreshing. Open it in the morning and you get yesterday's order of play. Generally you had to kill the app to get it to update. As a visitor there is nothing useful like a map, seat plan, or shortcut to the court you have tickets for. Instead you get useless junk like a tick box for "eat strawberries" etc. The app is full of useless stuff to be honest, clearly not devised by tennis fans. Still, it's free, isn't riddled with ads and the scores, results and order of play features are genuinely useful. A little refinement and it could be really good.
Doesn't update. Apparently the scores as they stood today at 1145 are still the same. Even though they aren't. Otherwise the app is really good. Shame about this one, critical feature!
Great app. Best of the grand slam apps. It is annoying that I get alerts from matches. If I watching the match the alert can spoil the result. Can't figure out how to turn off notifications.
This app has been very useful for keeping up with games when on the move. Scrolling through the rounds of a competition could be improved. It always reverts to the top of the draw rather than staying near the player being researched.
Cumbersome app which takes up a lot of processor power but fails to deliver the information people want, such as. Schedule of play, schedule fot favourites, who's left in the draw etc. Notifications stack up regarding the same event. Why would I still want to know that Andy Murray is warming up when another notification has informed me that he's eon the first set? The new notifications should automatically cancel the previous ones. It becomes annoying having to cleat half a dozen if you have been otherwise occupied, or if you were watching another match.
I thot F.O app was worst but then I was wrong coz this is even worst! Pathetic UI and slow as snail. Dunno Wat IBM ppl r doing.
Very easy , intuitive navigation. Very fast updates - score changes 5-10 secs after actually happens. Seeing status of many matches on one page is a good feature.I like it!!
Better this year with 3 audio, 1 video stream. Slamtracker sometimes refuses to load. Volume on audio could use amplification. Much less buggy, easier to get around.
Excellent app. Perfect for use during the Championships. Only qualms was that it needed you to put in a date to plan trip even if you didn't have the date planned.
A bit too slow. The draws display is anoying as you don't get to see the tree. The favorite function that lets you filter all data is cool.
Absolutely useless concerning order of play. Maybe only for Android users, because on IOS didn't have such problem.
Really love this app. I work a lot and when i have a day when i dont see any matches i jus click on the app and know whats been happening at wimbledon ????
The app is not organized well and does not seem to have correct information either. It is hard to navigate through the app and find information easily. The cast option does not work well.

Google search result has far more accurate, and easily readable, data on when and who is playing in upcoming matches. I cannot rely on this app to advise me when matches are commencing for my favourite players. I am better off looking for draw information elsewhere. Very difficult to customise app by nationalties (despite "favourites" option). Still no idea why this app wants to access my phone records ?!?
