Australian Open Tennis 2017 for Android
So far so good. Negative: App closes when you exit a video, which is annoying, please fix. Update: video problem sorted but videos are often sluggish other than the adverts. Player alerts do not work. Schedule and draws are clear and easy to access.
Skin deep. Looks good, but terribly disconnected and unusable. 1. No linking between player profile and scores. 2. Draw view is unsearchable and incomplete without brackets. 3. Draw view should be linked to profiles and results. 4. IBM's keys to the game are not insightful. I wish IBM would give up or improve it massively. I would rather have more pure stats than the Keys to the Game.
Alerts are not working at all now for favorite players. Lack of cross links and references makes it harder to look things up quickly. For instance it would be nice to look up a player and see when he/she is playing. Links in news article just bring you to the web pages within the app. (e.g. schedule links to web page schedule, instead of in app schedule)
The IBM slam tracker data doesn't get updated as frequently as it should.. I need to go to the main page and come back to scores page to see the updates.. and this is on WiFi connection btw.. hope this gets sorted....Otherwise.. a great app!!
I would have liked the ability to click on players names in the schedule to read their bio. My phone struggled to keep the feed updated. That may have been a service issue and not an app issue. Overall this added to my Open experience.
Overall worth while. Any issues are minor. Have noise encountered any of the problems others have. Maybe I close my other apps
The should not have to send you too a website to get the info you need. If I wanted that I could have just used a browser
It's a good app. Next year, please add pull down refresh. Found myself having to force close it, so I could reopen it to get updated info.
I gave originally one star : (For people not at the place this app gives less information of interest like played games statistics.) But click "Match Centre - Powered by IBM SlamTracker" and it's there. What about calling it "Match Statistics". Still: its a Non interactive app with few or no search options. (Like between Schedule and Scores or Players and Schedule)
This app doesn't give all the latest scores of the day (if it does its not obvious). Why aren't the names in the scores hyperlinked to their profiles? Whomever designed this didn't have the end user/fan in mind.
Every time I clicked on an article, the app stopped responding and returned to main page. The videos took long time to load and the phone heat up after using the app. Overall, bad experience this year because generally you have developed a great app over the last years.
Too much slowness and crashing. Some cross linking to profiles and other event schedules, news, video would be good.
Good...but. I'd like to be able to keep track of the scores from recently completed matches. The only way that I've found to do it is by checking the DRAWS and figuring out who's in and who's out. Clunky.
Kept me completely up to date on all matches when I was not able to watch. Epic battles this year! Need to get some tickets for next year. Go Federer!!
Tough to navigate to get scores - completed matches and live. Not so user friendly.
No completed matches, don't like news layout (what's wrong with a simple list of headers?), no links inogical places (can't click on a player to go to their bio if in match scores etc). Best I can say is it works more consistently than the 7Tennis app.
Alerts not working for favorite players. At ios app alerts are working flawlessly, what a shame for android user that every time we have to suffer.
App constantly cuts out, and the updates lag considerably, to the point where you have to exit and re enter the game to see the updated score. Once again the aus open app lets me down
The app is OK... too much emphasis on stories rather than easily accessible results. The new tournament logo is stupid.
Alerts don't work, requires too much toggling back & forth to get info I want. Needs work but better than '16 version!
The match highlights are by far the worst of all tennis events. Following the ball is uncomfortable at first and nauseating after several views. Wake up Australia.
It's terrible. Way too many alerts I'm not interested in. Slow to load. And doesn't show completed matches for day
Not overly user-friendly. Can't cross reference and notifications function doesn't seem to link to anything. Frustrating.
The app has all the news from the Australian Open. You have to scroll through the front page to see the days available stories. A summary list of stories at the top with links would be more efficient. All in all a good app.
Too cluttered. Have to keep switching between live scores and the schedule - annoying. Radio does not work well. Won't even bother to try AO TV Live because it is horrible even on desktop PC.
The app provides enough data and in pretty nice format. However I don't like UI as its a bit laggy and lacks finesse
In general is a good app but lacks link between a name of a player and bio, also there are no stats about finished matches, only by checking the draws one can see the scores. I found more helpful to go directly to the AO site.
I just look for all the results both 'just' passed & the current matches being played. Easy to navigate the app I must say. Tks Trev ☺
This app is better than ever before. Just a pity we don't have an Aussie in the singles finals.
I like the app, the only things I don't like about it are: 1. Can't click on a player on the draws page and see their profile 2. When I get push notification about matches, clicking on them opens the browser and the app
Does what it needs to do. It's not the Wimbledon app of course but that's like the best GS app around.
Has scoring and schedule updates and can be used to schedule play and scoring notifications. Sometimes a little difficult to locate information.
Live score update is slow and you have to hit the back button to get N update..can't match cricinfo like features but good to have if you cannot watch live
Only thing I'd change is being able to filter live match scores by event. I'm mostly interested in mens singles
When watching a live match the point description doesn't correspond with the score in the table. The logo on opening takes FOREVER to load and is super annoying!
Very nice content but quits all the time, especially after the update. Players alerts didn't work.
I guess the coverage of the AO on Tennis channel has been my source for watching matches but the latest news and scores have been discovered first on the AO app.
The app is missing an entry for completed matches. The slam tracker is missing player biography, I had to go to the menu under players. It would be nice to be linked under slam tracker and find out additionally when and where these players have met and their score then.
Tracker hardly ever worked. Crashes with can't connect...worked fine first 4 days of open then the problems started. I guess their servers couldn't handle it??

The app has a lot of good content. I don't use all the features but of the features I have found areas are lacking or not working. As the main functionality of this app remains the same each year I would have expected it by now the kinks would have been ironed out. I find this app still the best to follow aus open with and will continue use but i wish it was better
