iBaby Care for Android
Great when it works but 80 percent of the time when you go to the app you are not able to get the video to work. No point in using it if you can't see the video, just get a normal sound monitor. My wife has a Samsung s6 and I have a Droid turbo. Both have the same issue.
This app has been a love hate relationship. I love the quality of the image regular or night vision. But it's such a clunky piece of junk that has only started to work reliably since the latest update. I get that I'm on android O and I'm on the bleeding edge but it was such a trial to get even my password setup correctly and multiple resets to just get it setup on multiple devices.
Update:. In reply to your response... There is full signal. The Wi-Fi infrastructure is not the problem. Again I ask... Can i have a refund. The camera itself may be nice when it works.... Unfortunately, this doesn't matter when the app is not reliable and renders it useless the majority of the time. I have updated it, uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times to no avail. Add to that the questionable permissions and you have an epic fail. I wish I bought the Motorola when I had the chance. Is it too late for a refund?
Terrible app, cannot even get the monitor to activate with S7 edge. And yes I have tried the resets, reinstalled the app and say right next to the router while trying to activate it. The FAQ online are useless and it took the help desk over 48 hrs to respond, with the same suggestions in the FAQ. Wish I could return this but it was a gift.. praying with a little more effort, patience, work with the help desk and software updates i won't have to purchase another product. But in case i do, does anyone have a recommendation on a similar product?
There's better ones on the market. I like it though. Don't necessarily have issues with it though I wish there was a wall mounting option. I also have never been able to use the temperature feature. I asked customer service and they said as long as it's plugged in it should read temperature. It definitely doesn't.
app just loads and loads now. i cannot recommend anyone to buy this camera due to its inconsistency. router is in the next room. wifi is fast enough. the product just isn't good.
We use this to help keep our mother safe and secure in her own home since her stroke. All of us children can use it whether we have iphones or androids, no matter where we are. Peace of mind for mom and us. So helpful! Great picture and sound. Great to keep track of her room temperature, too, since she doesn't seem to feel the heat anymore.
No support for long wifi passwords?? How can you not adhere to simple security standards? I couldn't even use this service because the mobile app does allow enough space to accommodate my wifi passphrase. 9/1/2017 - in response to iBaby Care: the standard for WPA2 passwords (one of the most common home standards) is up to 63 characters. A 30-second google search could have told you that a 32 character field is only half of what's needed. Try googling "wpa2 maximum password length'. It's lazy programming. I'm not providing a serial as the item is already boxed up and going back to Amazon. I won't support a product that does not have good security or usability.
It's great when it works, which lately is not very often. I have the most up-to-date version of the app, but it cannot connect to the camera but just loads and loads. Super frustrating.
The hardware is amazing, really high end. The software is really lacking and done in an amateur league. My advice is to replace your product manager and focus on software, this is really where users engage with the monitor.
It was a great start then came useless updates. 'Fixed bugs?' More like created more. Can barely get any video since the recent update. I have to take out the power from the camera to reset it every day. There were great reviews before based on which I purchased this, unfortunately adding features is complicating things and not optimizing it at all. Contemplating on returning it but it may be too late. Dont tell me about my Wi-Fi. Router is in the room beside it, and I have 1gb/s net. Using S6 Edge+ (7.0) and iPhone 6. Works better on the iPhone though.
Now not only can any one listen when they feel like it if not on sleep mode but the app stoped working so I re downloaded the app it will not let me log in to the app says my email dose not work any more at all so I have to re set the whole baby camera to get back in
Unable to install camera with Pixel running Oreo. Plan to ship back since their customer support isn't open and their online FAQ is not helpful for troubleshooting.
*UPDATE* The app is not sending sound notifications at all. When i first installed the app, if i turned the sensitivity up above minimum an alert would trigger from the baby kicking in his sleep or grunting. Now, Baby was screaming from his crib for several minutes when we heard him from down stairs. The sound alert never went off, even though I have repeatedly raised tyebsensitivity. This has been an on going problem. What good is a baby moniter that doesn't consistently monitor a baby. If this were fixed, and the app was consistent, I would be satisfied. (Please also see clarification at end of original review) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * When it works it is awesome, the sound sensor and alert is great so you can get chores done in other parts of the house. However that's when it works! For the last few weeks the sensor hasn't been picking up angry wails, let alone the early wake up noises it should. Then this week it freezes every time you open it-with a noise sensor alert in the screen even though baby is asleep making no noise. *clarification* when I open the app to check on the baby, it pops up a noise alert then freezes. When he is sound asleep and NOT making noise.
This app won't even let me sign up! It just says registration time out over and over again. Good to know you buy something for over $100 and the app that you need for it doesn't even work!
This app is constantly not working with Android devices. It is currently down again with my Samsung Note 5 and my husband's Moto G4+, however the app works with his work IPhone SE.
App no longer working with Android 8.0, please fix! Update: Now working on Android 8.0.0 (Pixel XL)! Thanks for the quick response and update!
i dont like the monitor login because it always say time out so Im go to take it back.
The app does not recognize my already established account.
Not working on Pixel XL Oreo.
Great, when it works. Can't rely on it.
New Notes: Connected now and please with response rate and clarity. Changed from 1 start to 4.5+. It's very good to be fair :) OLD NOTES: Packing and everything looks great. When you buy this thing... But it's app based. And you can't bloody connect. I'm fuming at this. I'm going to assume the recent android update has stuffed this. Will be checking for a fix guys and very soon
Whenever I open the app on my phone it's usually on the loading screen. Sometimes it may work if I close and restart the app, but I have to do this multiple times and other times I just give up on it working and just check on my baby from time to time. Whenever it does decide to work it goes in and out and gets stuck so my baby will start crying, but the app doesn't register that. I have no issues with my internet anywhere else in my house and I have even moved the monitor to different locations, but same issues. This monitor/app was suppose to give me peace of mind, but it just causes more concern because it hardly works.
The baby monitor is very inconsistent. When it works it is wonderful. Problem is it's very unpredictable. Called company a few times and problems persist. Very disappointed. Do not buy this monitor.
Works really well 95% of the time. Sometimes it struggles with day/night mode and sometimes the sound stops working, which is always unnerving when it is your kid. Support is helpful.
No longer works at all with Android 8.0 (stuck at a blank screen on startup). Before this, it would work but with unreliable notifications and often get stuck and require restarting.
This app for Android devices is extremely unstable. I've had better luck using this app with my iOS device. I am using the latest 2016-2017 Google Pixel phone and it is slower and more glitchy than my old iPhone 5s - both phones are using the same device settings. Until iBaby makes an improvement to the Android app I will just have to continue using the iPhone 5s. Update: now both my iPhone 5s and Google Pixel are having a hard time streaming the video. Very unhappy with this product. My wife has emailed them several times and no one has responded. The app states that I have excellent connection yet loading takes a long time and when it does, the video stream is glitchy. When it works it is nice but unfortunately it rarely works. I'm about to buy a Google Nest camera.
We have had trouble with the app since the beginning. We ALWAYS have to log out and back in again at least once to get the app to work. Since the monitor needs the app in order to work, we have a non functioning monitor 50% of the time! I had to buy a 2nd monitor to use half the time! The sound comes in and out constantly, so the only way to really use it is set sound alerts and hope the app is running in the back ground (which it normally isn't for us). It freezes constantly. We REALLY wish we would have gotten another monitor. The only positive is if it is working, it is nice to be able to log in when we are not home, but this positive isn't good enough to make up for the fact that it doesn't work half the time. You depend on your baby monitor to be reliable, but this one is not.
This is the worst! Constantly buffers. Constantly uninstalling and reinstalling app. Completely unreliable for something that is supposed to watch your baby.
Unable to open app since my pixel XL upgraded to Android 8.0. please fix!!
pretty good. can be laggy at times and little slow to start up.
Doesn't work after phone updated to latest Android version. Still works on wife's older phone. Needs update?
Used to be great but now we can't connect anymore. Its jist keep on loading. My wife's iphone is good and fast but for android its the opposite. Pls fix the app
Spyware detected through this app. I had the updated version of this too. Uninstall this ASAP.
Not working with Android O
Was given to me as a gift and I used my Android ZTE ttopair it with. I was unsure at first that it would work and sure enough at my first intent, it failed. I blame that on my negative thinking.. second time was a success!! It was quick and so simple. It put a big smile on my face. I recommend this app. And by the way im a real reviewer :)
I've only had it a few days but this is so far a fantastic setup with both my Android (S6 edge) and my wife's Apple iPhone 7. Crystal clear video and lots of cool features with barely a delay (less than 0.5 seconds). Very impressed thus far.
What good is a monitor that doesn't work on your phone the way it is advertised? This is a complete waste if money and a class action lawsuit should be looked into.
My antivirus application keeps warning me about this being a potentially dangerous application and that it contains something called TencentProtect.B. I'm uninstalling it for now

Currently running Android Oreo. I've read some of the reviews and seen the responses that you will have an update shortly to allow this to run on that platform as well. I will be happy to change my rating once I have actual access to the landing screen and see how the software interacts with usability. Although I'm not optimistic reading many of these reviews who sang the software is running perfectly, but there are still many issues.
