Breaking News

Leaving this review if only to counteract the idiot who rated it badly because of the news sources he chose. After the "Breaking News" app that many of us knew and loved went away, this one, at least partially, filled the hole left in this news junkie's heart. Maybe not as awesome as the curated and nearly instant alerts I got with the other thing, but it's certainly the best thing on Android right now for getting notified immediately of breaking stuff - even if that does mean wading through some false positives.

Good news app with many different and good sources. Only downside is that only one notification comes on at time and only one is shown in the notification center for me. So the most recent news is the only one I am alerted about. I have to open the app to see any previous alerts.

It's good, but when something big happens, I'll get the same news from every source. I know the app probably can't do anything about it so I guess I'll just uncheck some of the boxes?

It's OK. I miss the ability to filter out all sports related news and it seems like Trump saying something is breaking news, or the Oscars when they're really not.

Everyone has the same disinformation

Lately when clicking on some breaking news headlines, it just takes me to a Google search page. I can do that myself.

It only directs you to Google search, when you click on any news instead of the real source.

A problem with the license caused me to drop out of this app, but months after discussing it with the dev, he notified me that the issue was fixed. That deserves respect. I have loved it! Simple, to the point breaking news from multiple sources. The best.

Good replacement for Breaking News app... would like to be able to change notification sound.

Great replacement app for the breaking news app that NBC has decided to shut down. Nodifications work well. I did notice the the widget said "updating" untill I got a breaking news nodification and then it started to work. So let the widget stay untill you get a notification. Other then that it's been great!

Like the app but cannot turn off (annoying) notifications many times a day. Must include this option in your settings or will uninstall as immature!!! Like breaking news at my pace.

Unchecked sources but they still show up

This app is indispensable on my phone. One of the very best. However, there are times when the notifications just stop coming. Normally, I have to uninstall and reinstall, but this time that's not working. I've done everything I can think of to get them to work again, to no avail. The app is updating the news just fine, but I am not getting notifications for a single one.

There are two columns and when you tap on the left, that article appears on the right. But it's a really narrow display on a phone! I imagine it's awesome on a tablet though! :-)

Just got a new phone and it works very well! You still get the news to me faster than anyone else.

I no longer get notifications. In the past, notifications would occasionally go on the blink, but now they don't work at all.

Just installed the pro version. Crashed once while in selecting a source. Also not able to open each article.

Great news app until it stopped notifying me and kept crashing, so I just uninstalled and reinstalled it so hopefully this will fix it. UPDATE: It now is working great!

I like the app, the problem is the only reason I wanted this app was for the push notifications which seem to work one day and then stop. Disappointing.

Adds aren't too annoying and provides real breaking news long before the usual carriers pick anything up. Must have to stay in the know.

This app is great for staying up to date with the latest news as soon as it happens. I use it with an app called voice notify so I get the latest news read to me.

A nice app but pushing a new news every 15 minutes hardly justifies the term "breaking" in the title. I an not quite sure how the app selects it's news, but if the dev considers making his app a little more selective in the messages it pushes, if at all possible, really being "breaking" rather than something of a news-firehose, I think this could be a lot more valuable.

I downloaded and installed the app last week and paid for the pro version and ever since it crashes whenever I click on the notification to open the app. Very angry and much disappointed.

Great app. Only after paying to remove the Ads I realized that we cannot change the themes to "dark" like in the iOS version. The app needs as much attention from its developers as they give to the iOS version. Adding your own notification tones should be something to consider. In the iOS the app is worth its 5 stars, but unfortunately not in here. If I knew I would have not paid for it. Love the app, but very disappointed at the lack of continuous improvements from its developers in this platform.

Not too cumbersome, gives me what I'm looking for. I do run into issues, from time to time, where the app stops working. I usually have to restart it. Last time I had to reinstall it. Might be the phone, LG 3 - hubby has the same app, he's got an LG Optimus and doesn't have this issue.

Just installed the app. Gives one or two sentence. No details. May be one of the apps I would delete if I needed more space on my overloaded phone. No more no less. Have a great day!

App works as promised and keeps me informed as news breaks. Although I wish it didn't have the ads, it comes with with the territory since it is a free app.

Provides breaking news from the news sources you want. Even when the government controlled news outlets restrict what hits news feeds Breaking News gives you a choice to pick which ones you like and provide them first when others don't!

Breaking news usually appears here before it is on other sources. Keep up the good work!

As a die hard, obsessive News Junkie who must be in the know and the first to know when News Breaks around the world, this is my first choice and it's THE BEST choice!!! My ONLY HOPE TO IMPROVE IT MORE, which is NOT a complaint... Add more English based foreign News sources. But, I have tried and do use MANY others (like I said, I am a News Junkie) and this is the BEST BREAKING NEWS ALERT APP on the market!!!

There's no feedback option in the app so I have to leave it here - the notifications still work, but there's no content displayed in the app now. Happened suddenly. I've paid for the unlock. Blu Studio 6.0 HD.

As it happens u get the very latest news from around the world without annoying audible notifications.

Hard to see the page, hard to navigate, and unable to share news

Works on my samsung galaxy s4 but not my samsung tab 3 sm t110. OtherwisE it is great.
