About SMS Export
Use "SMS Export" to export all of your sms's.
This really simple application creates an export file (.csv) on your phone containing all the sms's which your have RECEIVED (In Box) or SENT (Sent Items).
The export file can be opened with a spreadsheet program (either on your phone or on a computer) to
■ view and print sms's in bulk form
■ use the spreadsheets filter and sort capabilities to view only certain messages or conversations
■ use the spreadsheets search capabilities to find sms's containing specific phrases
Can be used to backup sms's in a form which:
■ can be viewed and understood by a human
■ is independent of your make and model of phone (and operating system)
Use the share button to get a copy of the export file off your phone
This application does not:
■ export draft sms's or sms's which are still in the process of being sent (i.e. still in the outbox)
■ export mms's
■ filter within the application
SUGGESTIONS WHEN OPENING IN EXCEL
Format Column B as a Date (Short Date or Long Date)
Format Column C as a Time
Format Column D as a Number and decrease the decimals to none
PERMISSIONS REQUIRED
■ Your messages - Read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
• Must read SMS's in order to export them
■ Storage - Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
• Needed to write the export file
■ Network Communication - Full network access
• Needed for sharing the export file
■ Network communication - View network connections
• Needed for sharing the export file
■ Development tools - Test access to protected storage
• Needed to write the export file

Thank you! This is the only SMS export app that actually works. Tried a bunch and they all have flaws. I use it to archive messages and convert the CSV file into XLSX. The only thing I would love to see is the ability to filter what gets exported, particularly by date so you don't end up with more messages than you want. I would also be willing to pay for an ad-free pro version. Thanks again!

I downloaded this app but when I clicked on 'export', I got a message that version 1.4 became obsolete in December 2016 (now). It advises to go back to PLAY and download the latest version. But the link takes you back to the PLAY page where you download version 1.4....duh!

Only one side of the message was captured

It was easy and exported over 5k SMS. I opened the sent email in windows and excel showed me the messages. I was able to filter in excel.

Bulk exports ALL of your messages onto one spreadsheet. I need messages from only one person so having every swinging message from every person in my phone consolidated on one spreadsheet in chronological order does me absolutely no good. I can get closer to what I need by manually saving and exporting. The exported file from this app is hardly any easier to read than if you don't use the app at all.

Loved it. The App downloaded and did the export and shared to Gmail with no hassles at all. My only grouse (Well wish list -really) is- if you can do this- why not also have the number format and time format coded into the prog? All the very best to the developers.

I've been looking for a way to transfer my texts to my computer for so long now!! THIS IS PERFECT. it converts it to excel you always have it on your email and computer. Very, very easy to use. Highly recommend it.
