Hulu for Android
No auto frame rate switching (we want to see films in their proper frame rate if our TV's support it, eg. 24p)!!!! Need lot's of more info on Movies/Series, Director, Actors, is it in HD, etc?
How has there not been any updates to this app in over 6 months! The streaming quality is terrible on nvidia shield.
Frequently loses your place and only seeking method is miserably slow. Constantly freezing and causing TV to need to be rebooted.
unable to use keyboard to type in search.
They need to update the app and put individual profiles in it like they have in the other Hulu apps
No voice search or recommendation support. Missing profiles
still no Profiles on Nvidia Shield TV
Yes, the 8/10/2016 update wrecked Hulu on a Sony Bravia Android TV (2015 model). Instead of just playing an episode, the big networks (Fox, NBC, ABC) have a short title animation that plays, then crashes the app right after displaying 'Loading' in the top-left corner of the screen. Most movies play without an issue.
Last update crashes on my Sony Bravia Android TV, some shows works just fine and other simply Crashes the app, it was working fine and after the update all went down.... I even reset my Android TV to Factory Settings and nothing, Please fix before i cancel my subscription
The Latest version crashes on the Nvidia Shield when playing ads or network splash screens. Hulu is unresponsive. Waste of a monthly subscription at this point. BTW, switching to commercial free plan does not fix this, as a Network identification screen counts as an ad, and it'll crash. A content warning prior to a show causes it to crash.
The service is ok. Forget about catching up on shows as they only have the last 5-6 episodes of most shows. So many shows I want to jump into mid season but if I can't start from the beginning or catchup if I've missed a bunch of episodes, then this service is useless. And now I can't watch anything as the latest android update continually crashes my NVidia Shield TV.
Simply does not work on my NVIDIA Shield TV. Crashes as soon as an Ad attempts to play. I can watch movies that have no commercials, but that's it. Is this some clever ploy by Hulu to get me to upgrade to a commercial-free plan? If so, it isn't working. If they don't have this fixed quickly, I'm canceling.
Latest update crashes on shield when loading ads. Completely unusable now.
The 1.4.0 update crashes every time it attempts to show ads on SHIELD Android TV.
1.4.0 does not work on Nvidia Shield. Crashes when trying to play any video
Keeps crashing before the video starts.
Crashes on NVidia shield TV pro after update.
The latest update causes it to crash when loading on the nvidia shield. i see many reviewers post it does this during ads and since i am paying for no ads, it does this as soon as it goes to start several videos..there are very few things that play now.
Has 2 incredibly annoying issues: 1) While watching a show / movie it will just stop. Usually happens on the ads. 2) Come up with an error when I try and watch a tv show or movie saying something about connecting to the server and restarting the application... why doesn't it just restart it for me if I cannot use the application until I do anyway... Both issues require me to go into settings and force stopping the application. Sometimes it does not even show up as running so I have to restart the TV (this could be an issue with android tv not this application but it has not happened on another application)
It's been unable to maintain an HD stream since last update on a wired Shield TV with a 20mbps connection, still needed - Add auto refresh rate switching when playing content eg. 24hz, 50hz like blu-ray players do, this is already supported by Android TV. - Add more information to the info pages, like Director and captions and whether is HD. Also would be nice to be able to give priority to Spanish subtitle, but fallback to English captions if there is no other option.
As subscribers, the biggest headache we have is that during any given show, 2 or 3 times per show, the screen will go black, but the network logo will remain. We get no sound or picture other than the network logo in the bottom right. If we press back, and select [resume] from the hulu menu, it goes in and continues at the same point and all is fine. Why should the stream be doing this? (This is on an nVidia Shield Android TV running Android Marshmallow).
Frequent buffering on Nexus Player, despite Netflix and other apps performing fine. Hulu on Apple TV on same network/TV works fine too. Followed all suggestions in help, but doesn't get better.
The UI on this app looks like it is easy to use at first glance but is actually horrible when you do use it. It cannot remember what you watched. Navigating through the menus is confusing and time consuming. This is the worst TV/Streaming app I have ever used.
Works very poorly on my Sharp Aquos LC-70UE30U. As soon as a commercial comes on the screen flickers green, with the proper audio - then once the content resumes it's all terribly stretched and distorted you couldn't guess what you're supposed to be seeing. It may be that Hulu can't work well with 4K or large screens via the Android platform at it's current version. It could even be that the TV attempts to upscale 1080p to 4K and Hulu is confused. Either way, it needs to be fixed. All content is un-watchable beyond a commercial.
Why does the app forgo Android TV's key feature of voice search for an awful single line keyboard? Constantly spits out error code 203 and refuses to play a video. Returning to the video means I have to start from the beginning, including preroll ads. The fast forward feature is awful; there's no way to tell which scene you're on. Why is this a separate app and not part of the main Hulu app? Android apps are supposed to scale across all devices, not use different apps for each device. Recommendations are awful and push random irrelevant shows, not shows I watch or related to shows I watch.
Videos load fine, but app needs improvement. Thumbnails take a long time to load. No Android Tv native interface. Feels very slow compared to other video streaming apps on Android Tv.
So many 203 errors it's ridiculous.
App works great when you're in the app, but doesn't support any platform-specific features. Where are the Android TV homescreen recommendation cards? Where is the voice search? Disappointing effort.
Hulu is awesome, even right now it has ShowTime & No ads version!
Where is the 5.1 surround?
I have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Crackle and more, Hulu Plus is horrible for the simple fact that I'm trying the week trial all find that there is about 8-10+ commercials and they group them so 2 commercials put together make one it's bad real bad. Then there's Hulu Plus CEO defending ads by saying that having ads helps keep subcriptions down, not only are they milking the users but also milking the company they advertise for. Here's the facts, Netflix and others offer the same and without commercials surely if they can do it Hulu Plus can. So far in my week trial I seen more commercials than i have Crackle which is free. So if you don't care about commercials and like to throw money away to Hulu is for you. If you really want to feel your paying for a premium service without ads then other streaming services are for you. I can't justify spending money for so called premium service that is clearly the same as Hulu free and crackle. Overall I'm not impressed because other streaming services really treat your subscription as premium and commercial free and Netflix and Amazon give the user a commercial free experience you dont, Hulu Plus no amount of excuse can justify ads. Period
I find it to be absolute crap that the playback for the T.V shows freezes and stutters every 5 seconds or so but the ads work just fine! Utter Bull Crap
As of the latest version (1.1.2), the Nexus Player version of this app remains inaccessible to consumers with visual impairments who use the Google TalkBack screen reader. TalkBack does not read aloud anything in the app. It does not read menu items, show titles, video controls, etc. In fact it does not even read the opening log in page for the app. These kind of issues appear in all versions of your app across all the various platforms. I hope these issues get addressed since we are paying customers too and would like access to the content we are paying for.
This is the worst company on the face of the planet. They're rude, have absolutely no worries when it comes to their customers, and give smart remarks for answers.
My nexus player just got the update and it immediately crashes every time.
No bueno. Please fix!!! Things were fine yesterday. Unfortunately I don't think we can downgrade on Android TV.
This is what we've been waiting for.

Streaming quality never reaches high resolution on my nvidia shield, even on a wired connection. Works perfectly in HD on my Amazon Fire TV in my other room, on Wi-Fi. Very poor version for Android....
