Hands Up Don't Shoot

The chant 'hands up don't shoot' has been used to give voice to the unequal power structures and systems in place that govern many. We now take this chant and situate it in a digital age where social media is used to congregate, mobilise and raise social awareness. By creating a downloadable Morse Code inspired ringtone we intend to provide a tool for disobedience every time your phone rings. This artwork can cross into different spaces and enter both public and private domains, activated involuntarily by an 'other'.
