MythTV Go for Android
Doesn't work
Works well. With ads. :/
Great, it works! Supports IPv6 and supports the native video player. Can watch a recording live before it has finished recording.
This is the best player for Myth, good job.
Gets better every update.
Visu
The only app I found that I could use to stream myth recorded content to my tablet. The UI needs work. Very difficult to fast forward and rewind. No commercial skip. Confusing UI. No apparent way to see live streams.
Works, but needs a little extra setup on the backend host.
It works and I like it
This app works great for me, but only after I read the developers web site where he describes how to debug problems with mythtv-backend. In my case my mythTV backend was not compiled with x264 support. After fixing that the app worked without problems. Those people giving a low rating should investigate their mythTV setup first. When I used VPlayer to play the content it would stop after about 30 secs, but MXPlayer worked OK.
I put this on my phone so the kids would be able to watch some TV when needed. While I have gotten this to work successfully on occasion, I cannot depend on it. What I do like is the ability to select resolution type - much more bandwidth friendly thant myth web, which is not intuitive and is clunky IMO. This, however, is spotty and crashes sometimes for no reason. Currently am running fe 13.10 with most recent major release of mythtv. System connects but is not able to stream due to some java I/o error.
I've been using it for several versions now on Gingerbread and it has always worked perfectly for me. I use BSPlayer for streaming. The auto discovery is an excellent addition. I can't wait to see what gets added in the future. Well done!
Not sure what the problem is, bs player free opens but says nothing added to queue. Flashes the menu prompting whether to keep or delete the steam before bs player opens. Maybe an issue with the htc linkify or multitasking quirks. Gonna try on cmx next. Great interface so far!
Using on a HP Touchpad which shouldn't even have androind running on it. Currently running Cyanogenmod 9 ice cream sandwich and with BS player and this app all is working well. Even works over SSH if you forward the correct ports. As for adding scheduling recording etc, mythweb already does that perfectly well for me.
Impossible to get back to configuration menu (without reinstall), no option to select player. Just doesn't work, sloppy app.
Video never plays. ics/gnex
Works well.
Would like to see recording scheduling, managing recordings, program guide, etc. But playback is awesome and works very well.
Works great. Thank you Dev. More features would be great e.g. view epg, set recordings.
Works fine up until BSPlayer starts but BSPlayer says nothing added to queue
I've tried using all kinds of upnp apps as well as setting up a Darwin Streaming Server. All those solutions worked. This app though made absoulty everything effortless. DOWNLOAD it and BSplayer and you should be good to go...no more headaches.
Even works remotely. Thanks for a job well done.
Works great. Better interface than the other android MythTV frontend - MythFrontend. I've personally released Android Apps to work with free / open source projects, but I've never added adverts or suggested I might charge for them - because the developers of the original projects don't. MythTV doesn't include adverts. You don't have to pay for MythTV. I think it's a shame this has adverts and that the developer suggests he may charge for a version.
Lists the shows fine, but then just fails to start the stream
5 stars because it works instantly and very easily. The only issue is can't skip forward in playback. Fix that and I'd be very happy to pay for this app as it stands. 'Videos' playback would be very nice to see.
Crashes every time you start. Might be because I have a few thousand recordings.
The only thing this app does successfully is display ads.
Well done. Had it working in 1 minutes time and most of that time was spent installing bsplayer. Nicely done sir! Very much looking forward to your other ideas.
