HTC Camera

Update took away many options: to change type of photo ie filters when shooting, removed ability to use manual settings. I shoot in black and white frequently. Altering it after is not the same. And no matter what I do photos are all somewhat blurry, from front or back camera. Focus is off. I have reset and cleaned and reinstalled the crop me in etc. And what happened to the 360? I bought this phone for the camera. It was great til the update. Camera ZOOM appears to work much better

Since completed the update the split picture mode is now limited to half screen split.y Before I was able to adjust the size and placement of my split images. So I could get a closeup selfi with a mini clip of what I was looking at and vice versa, AND put it where I wanted it within my image. I really loved this option and it gave it a more personal feel because the focus was on larger image and appears more connected. The half screen double shot just looks like two individual images bunched together

You need to bring back the live effects. Being able to take photos with an active filter set this camera apart, allowing filters to be used during actual composition with excellent results. HTC used to pride themselves on being at the creative edge with mobile photography. You are not trying anymore! And please dump Zoe. There are already a million ways to share photos that are tried, tested and super popular. HTC are too quiet to compete with them. Instead be brilliant and focus on what happens when we do!

You guys need to straighten up as a company. It's like you want to fail. The m8 camera was actually decent but you go and change the quality from average to worse as if to make everything else in the phone seem better. If you take a look at the reviews on every other play store app, the 1 star rating is always in the top 3. Please fix the camera and everything else that was fine when we bought the phone before you go bankrupt. Thank you.

I love the camera on my Desire Eye, one of the better phone cameras imo, but recently I haven't been able to use the front camera. About a two- three weeks ago it'd black screen in snapchat and I'd have to do a soft reset and it'd be fine, now I can't even open the selfie camera in the camera application. I had it working a couple days ago for about 20-30 minutes then it stopped again.

I've just begun my overseas trip which will be full of panoramic views to capture.. The best feature of the old camera app was the careful capture, following the black rectangles - no need for a steady hand! Also, the ability to capture verticle. Come on HTC, you were way above Apple there for a moment. Remedy these things and get back, so I can get back to capturing my life.

Only HTC can make an okay camera worse. What happened to all the features of the duo camera for the M8? They are virtually non-existent as far as I can tell. How can you call something an update when it really isn't? Ever wonder why HTC is always playing second fiddle to the likes of Samsung? This camera app is a prime example.

It used to be a fast application... I don't know if the app was updated anytime in the past few months, but the app takes sooo long to open, and when I hit the home button or the multitasking button, the it takes up to 15 seconds to respond, and will sometimes crash and bring me to the lockscreen... Please fix this app!!! I just want my good camera back.

For my uses the camera itself works fine. Never really used the dual camera so I can't really say anything about that. One big problem I have since a few months, is the jumping to my taken pictures. It works fine so far that it opens the album app but it opens it with the tab "Timeline" instead of the folder "Camera Shots" as it was in older versions. At least a option to choose which one it should open is something I would expect but couldn't find. Another missing setting is the photo resolution.

My phone was working fine but then suddenly it's not working. It won't let me access it and I've sent dozens of error reports. The report says it has crashed. I went to where I bought it from and they said to restart ur phone. I had to delete most of my photos and transfer the remaining. I have restarted it and updated the app but it is still not working :( will give 5 stars if it is fixed.

After update thers no those effects,no icon in the camera menu. I downgrade the cam and its ok now. But please check that and fix it. And why only m8 and butterfly 2 own zoe mode? Thats the best mode in the camera and you erased it for mighty desire eye?

On my camera, all other modes other than the "panoramic" and "camera" modes have suddenly stopped working. I was using the "selfie" mode, demonstrating the light on the face of the phone to someone , then I clicked the home button. I went to open it seconds later and all other modes except "camera" and "panoramic" have vanished. I've rebooted my phone, did a recovery, reinstalled the HTC camera update, updated all apps, aleared the camera apps cache , etc still no other capturing modes...

Bought E9 plus a few months back, and the selfie cam was fine till suddenly it doesnt work anymore nor appears as an icon in the cam options. Even sometimes the cam app itself doesnot open and requires to restart the phone! Please support to fix this!

I am using HTC desire 826 and loved the front camera before installing this update. But after this update thre camera has lost everything that was good about it. I can't touch and focus any more while using the front camera and all my selfies are mostly blur. Also many options are not available when using the selfie mode. Plz do something about it.

This is a nice easy to use app. But the HTC M9 camera is a real piece of crap. The 8mp camera on my HTC DNA took nice clear hd pictures, but the 20MP cam on the M9 takes forever to focus, and the picture quality makes it hardly worth using. The DNA was a way better phone don't buy a M9.

Started as just a poor camera but took pictures. Then only let me take selfies and showed a black screen with back camera. Now just a blank screen. All latest updates. Just freezes and refreshes to home window. Regretting getting this phone. Missing out capturing precious memories with my babies :(

It won't work at all now! Please fix it! (I tried to open the app and it simply blackscreened and returned to the home screen. I reset the app to base settings to see if it was an issue with the phone, and it worked kind of - no front camera option - then reinstalled the updates and it had the same issue as before. So clearly an issue with the update. If I could return it to the previous update it would be fine... )

Bring back dual capture! It was so much better than whatever there is now at capturing both scenes. I have also been having issues capturing a 'clean' 360 shot in a while. As I'm going around areas which have already been captured require another shot thus giving a terrible result.

Really disappointed that they took away the filters on the camera. Would not call this version an upgrade. All my friends' iPhone pictures are far nicer. Hope you reinstate and improve filters on the camera app soon. Preferably before Christmas. It be nice to have a few decent pics of my own instead of piggybacking of other people's.

i have message here before, and you answered me to go to the HTC support, can you please at least give me a chat support to resolve my problem of the Camera or i'll be returning this. As what i have stated last time my camera always crashed and it says ''UNABLE TO START THE CAMERA''. Thank you and have a great day!

It shows time line pics, which starts to display all the pics of phone. Basically the preview link in the camera should display only those pics which are taken by the camera only. It has become useless. I have to use the gallery option to display the recent clicked pic by camera. It shows what's app, hike, and other sources pics in camera preview link.

WHERE ARE THE FILTERS??!!! The country filter is the ONLY reason I stay w HTC phones! Pls tell me your bringing those back, I've read hundred+ reviews of people complaining about this feature being gone. I'd like a response letting me know if this feature is coming back, if not- I will be done using HTC phones.

If I were HTC, roll back the last update as the camera software is now screwed. The only option I have is selfie mode. What a load of rubbish. Msg me if u want to know more HTC. I've even just uninstalled and reinstalled. Great as I'm in Manila wanting to take pics! WTF

HTC DESIRE 826 (Indian version). Initially the camera was great, but after the updates, the photo quality has been affected and auto focus works very rarely. Tried re installing, the older version didn't have the auto focus issue much. New one still has it. Even a cheap mobile can focus easily. Losing trust in this brand!

Had HTC M-8 phone for less than one week. Purchased specifically for dual camera. Took a few really good pics and videos. Suddenly main camera will not work. Tried multiple factory resets and setting changes. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! This was a mistake.

Awful camera app. When I try taking pics in the dark, the flash goes off before the picture has been taken leaving me with just a black image. Also the shutter speed is slower than than the average little chef waitress. Gone to using a third party camera app which is much better.

Seriously HTC what happened? M8 didn't have the best camera to begin with, but it did have some good features, where are they now? Used to like the 360/panorama but now the stitching is jittery and not at all smooth. Stop changing things that don't need to be changed. I'd like to go back to original.

Day by day my Desire Eye becoming as boring and ugly as an iPhone. Why is HTC removing features? What happened to live filters? Why can't I apply blur when taking a shot? It sucks to go from having unique features to no features, like all other phones. Terrible service HTC. Also, where is my Live Slideshow Wallpaper?? Give that back!

My front camera lens has stopped working now and it takes forever to open the camera feature is one reason for selecting the phone as I nearly changed to Samsung as this is my 3rd HTC phone think I'll steer clear of HTC in the future as other phones seem to run better

My camera sometimes works and most of the time it doesn't , when I open it it's just black and after 5 seconds it closes and I don't have the selfie camera no more, I don't know what to do. When I open camera in some other program it says "can not connect to camera" , sometime it tells me "camera stoped unexpectedly", but most of the time it's just black for 5 seconds and it closes. Please help!

My camera can't work. A pop up screen always showed out n asked me to send the report. This is not the first time to hv this problem. I went to the HTC maintenance department before. But the same problem comes out again after two months maintenance. I don't want to reset my phone anyone. It is extremely inconvenient to recover all the data. Plz reply me asap.

I bought this phone just because of its camera. But i am really dissappointed with the quality. Its 13 does not look like so. Colours are neither vivid nor clear. I switched to it from grand 2(8 mp camera) but that 8 mp is much better than this. Kindly fix this and make it worth the money spent on this phone.

The htc camera is not working. Whenever i click on camera it does not start, it just hangs or gives error report. If by chance it starts sometimes, then the front camera option is not seen only. If anybody from htc reads this, kindly give any response

Camera takes good pictures. However you really got to work hard to get them right. I scan a lot of my work paperwork and even with good lighting it's still a challenge. Maybe after a few more updates HTC could get it right.

Camera just won't open. Tried using other camera apps and had the same issue. Have now sent dozens of error reports. Very upset. Have only used HTC for years now but this is unacceptable. Will be looking into other options next time.

I don't understand since the camera been updated in my M8 recently, it's always opened in landscape position instead of potrait and made all pictures been captured upside down. I need to edit the pictures again before can be used for any purposes. HTC, please help or improve the application.

The timer on the camera has stopped working and the setting for the timer isn't even there anymore in selfie mode. Now it constantly takes pictures with no warning. The timer indicator shows correctly at the bottom of the screen but it's just not working. Fix please!

One of the reasons for purchasing this phone was of the features that the camera boasted of which is the Filter option available while taking a pic. However this option vanished after the software update on my phone and now I'm forced to use filters after taking a pic by going to gallery. This is a more painstaking process and I would really like to have the Filter option made available while taking a pic. Please help me get this back.

Ommmm, can we have our live camera effects back plz?? The country filter was one of my favorites and now it looks like it's gone after the update.....
