About BodyGuard
If you ever feel uneasy walking or jogging alone in a precarious environment, or worry about leaving your phone charging in a public area, this app is for you. BodyGuard intends to automatically sound an alarm to protect its user from many situations, including these.
Introduction:
BodyGuard is the first application from "wiHSING well". Using the device's built-in accelerometer technology, it plays an alarm sound when the device is moved abruptly or irregularly. For example, BodyGuard will sound the alarm when its user is pushed, or a bag containing the device is pulled. The alarm sound can also be triggered by the user turning or shaking the device voluntarily.
Usage:
Tap on the shield image to start the program and tap again to stop the program.
Five security levels can be set at any moment:
- Level 1(Highest) protects the device from being moved. The alarm is triggered when the device is simply picked up.
- Level 2, 3 (Default) and 4 are suitable for walking or jogging depending on the user’s preference.
- Level 5 (Low) activates the alarm only with a violent shaking of the device.
By default, BodyGuard plays a chime every few seconds when it is engaged. The reminder tone is not played when something goes wrong, such as when the app is stopped accidentally or if the volume is on mute. In situations like these, the user should either restart the program or turn up the volume of their device. The chime can also be disabled by the “Chime is ON/OFF” switch.
This application intends to keep running in the background when users switch to another program, but this is heavily dependent on each device brand and the current workload of the device. Users should test out different scenarios before putting it to real use. One suggested way of use (if your device can support it) is to start the program and then lock the screen, so no one can easily turn off the alarm if your device is password protected.
