ithlete -Train.Recover.Perform for Android
Most days it will take between 5 & 10 attempts to get a reading due to the connection dropping out. Some days it won't work at all. I have a friend with a different chest strap who has the same problem and it looks like others her have as well. Not good for a $10 app especially when elite hrv is free, works first go every time and has more features
I like the software's look and feel. It has a lot of promise. But, as other reviewers have noticed, the Bluetooth connection code makes it believe the signal drops. Using ithlete side by side with free HRV apps make it apparent they are the problem. I've been getting connection drops any every other day. Hopefully they will fix this in the next update.
I used the finger sensor on a Samsung S7 and no longer have connection issues. Now this app is a key part of my recovery schedule.
I was losing connection all the time recently until I changed the battery in my hr monitor. It was at 18% which I thought should be fine. Since the new battery I haven't lost connection once.
I find this app essential for checking my health and recovery, I need to use the finger sensor with my Sony xperia x , as the Bluetooth is so unreliable , however I have tried the finger sensor with a few android devices and found that it does not work with some devices.
After overdose of caffeine and only 3 hour sleep, it measured green triangle and best result of the week! Lost faith if there is any "science" behind. This app requires pricy hardware to buy. Even for free this would be expensive.
Keeps dropping out. Takes several goes to get a reading. Very disappointing for such an expensive app.
Reliable and very helpful. I also bought the finger pulse reader which works by cable. It was worth the small extra bit of money.
Take like 10 times for app to recognize Bluetooth chest strap
Quick, seems to be accurate. This is my preferred app for HRV.
In use for several months now with Polar H7 strap and no issues. However today the app cannot recognise the strap even though I have changed the battery and confirmed it's working in the Strava app.
I do really like what the app is capable of but it's so glitchy for something i have paid $10 for and stops working frequently when trying to take a reading. I've got free apps that work everytime. I've resorted to taking my readings in aeroplane mode (it doesn't solve the issue but improves it). I have a cardiosport monitor. My friend who has a different monitor has exactly the same issue. Sometimes i have to try 10 times before my reading works, not ideal when i get up at 4am to head to the gym.
Does not support +ant heart rate sensors
Works great for me. This has helped me get my recovery game together
I tried some other HRV trackers simultaneously and this one seemed to have the best algorithm for results that matched the way I felt. The results seemed to catch my internal mental stress and when I had little sleep and it showed me a lower HRV and recommended I take it easy. I used it with the pro trial subscription. I really like the one sentence daily activity recommendation with Pro and the graph that tracks other things like sleep too.
I tried this app along side 3 others and ithlete produced the most accurate results. It also had one of the better user interfaces.
I like this app for its simplicity and ease of use. The Pro upgrade is good, and as a chiropractor I have started using the Coach app to keep track of my patients too.
I use it with finger sensor. Very few problems
Very good app- very easy to use, intuitive and well laid out
Works well
I can quickly see effects of stress and lack of sleep on training ability. I can upload the results to the cloud so that I can view the graphs on my tablet or computer too. This app incorporates a standardized breathing rhythm when checking your morning HRV, which makes the tracking more accurate.
Great tech for keeping you healthy and fit at the same time. A++
Ithlete Pro is surprisingly accurate! More than 90% of the time my subjective sense of energy and recovery is reflected in my HRV score and Ithlete's training recommendations. I am quite impressed.
I can never get it to work unless I restart my phone every time. Measurements are usually close to Bioforce, but about 5-10 off from Sweet Beat. HRV is a good overall health check that you can do from home, but it's still too new to really say how good. For now, I just use it to tell me when to stop exercising.
Use it every day to monitor my recovery & spot early signs of overtraining etc
I'm not convinced of the usefulness yet. Am trying to be very controlled following the breathing rhythm, but taking repeated readings can vary by 40+. I find the Polar Ownzone very accurate, which is why I wanted to look more at HRV, although do have to be careful setting it up too. This is quite an expensive system to get started. Will continue, observe and report back after a few weeks!
Much improved!
Haven't had a cold in 4 years since followings its readings to the T..I'm looking for any excuse not to train so I never over ride the dont train or take it easy days, which has really improved my health ..
wonderful app.
Works fine on Android with a Polar H7 hrm. However, you need to pay for the app and the data it gives you isn't that helpful - you really need the Pro account (extra $50/year) to make sense of it (unless you can interpret your HRV and RHR). I found EliteHRV did the same job and was free to download.
It should be simple and effective to get a reading. I spend many minutes in the morning trying to get the app to detect the RR interval. Sometimes I can't get the strap and the phone / app at all.
I failed to get the finger sensor working on my LG G3. But the Polar H7 chest strap works well. The information is clear and feels accurate to my general physical wellbeing. I recommed this app.
Too bad, no ANT+ support.
I've been using it with several phones (htc one's , sony xperia z5, etc) but not one of them has working save button. You can easily enter daily information , but saving it is real challenge. Is it slow app or just small button do not know. Just awfully annoying.
It took me over 30 minutes my first time using it to finally get a reading. I kept having to reset because it loses the pulse. Works better on my iPad, but will still take several minutes sometimes for it to calibrate the sensor and has lost the pulse a few times too.
Have used for over 9 month's and find it extremely useful. You have to invest in understanding what HRV means this isn't simply about measuring HR!
Doesn't work on android
I can quickly see effects of stress and lack of sleep on training ability. I can upload the results to the cloud so that I can view the graphs on my tablet or computer too. This app incorporates a standardized breathing rhythm when checking your morning HRV, which makes the tracking more accurate.
Honestly, ithlete. If you want to actually have broad usage and relevance, you need to put out a product that can consistently be relied upon to deliver the information. I've had two finger sensors, the first of which was garbage. To your credit it was replaced. The second seemed to work fine; however, it is now more consistent in not getting the measure, after 20 to 40 seconds , then I have to restart. I explain the value of this measure to people, but find it very difficult to be my name behind it.

Issue with Pixel phones, must have location services turned on! And it won't tell you. Maxed out on a bike ride and next day got on of lowest readings, as expected. Elite HRV told me I was good to go for a hard workout, what a joke. I was wasted!this has a very nice graphic to follow along with your breath during the test. Product support tries, but they're obviously overworked.
