HP Print Service Plugin

It works good when it prints. It prints about 90% of the time. Only thing that it really needs is a touch scaling so you can fit what you want to show on the paper with a movement of your finger as well as a pinch to zoom when it is in "fill the paper" mode. More options would be nice. For now I rate a 3 star because of that.

***Updated 2/15/17. Same exact issues with the app not showing the print button. Have to open it and quickly hit print. HP, interested in fixing this?*** On a stock Samsung galaxy s6 active. When trying to print from any app or android print button the hp app shows pages to print for about 3 seconds. If you don't hit print in those 3 sec the pages to print disappear and it shows "printer is unavailable" and you can't print. If you're quick and hit print, it will print without issue. Would be nice to take a few sec to deselect pages you don't need to print.

What happened to the double-sided option to print? It doesn't appear to be available anymore. I have an HP printer and I would like to enable this option from my mobile then I would Love this APP! 11/2015-Todate the double-sided feature appears or was found but the option does not keep from 1 to 2 sided for the next print. Always have to check. 5/2016-Todate this has been corrected.

It actually works!!!!!!! I'm very surprised and impressed that it worked on the first try and didn't experience any issues. I'm using my old NON-WIRELESS hp laser jet 3050 - easy setup and using wired USB connection - and I'm using a TABLET!! I have a Samsung Galaxy tab A 8.0 inch tablet and I'm using the switch USB connector included with my Galaxy s7 to print. I'm glad this little device has finally come in handy. So far so good. Will update as I use it and if any persistent issues occur. ****** I rarely write reviews but I had to because tbh I didn't expect it to actually work.im very glad it does :))) ******

This app is incredibly intuitive. It just does what you wish it would do. I didn't even know my printer could print 2 sided without manually flipping the paper. I selected it in the app, and presto, it sucked in the first page and flipped it and printed the back. I am very impressed.

I'm not sure why anyone would complain about "too many steps". I went to HP's site, downloaded the app, ran it, done. Now I can print from my phone. Printing from my phone, wirelessly, is simple & easy if I am viewing things with my browser & print things from there and if I'm using some other program I can print "to" this app. Works every time. Use to be slow but now it's instantaneous.

The plugin works well with apps that use it. It reports errors and conditions like low ink. Seems to print in colour even with black-only pages. A little slow as if text is printed as graphics. Sometimes sends bad codes making paper go backwards or a printer error. Very convenient to use in apps that support it. Recent changes have introduced an error printing email from Gmail and Maildroid about unable to change printer settings. WPS and Adobe do print. Dropped to three stars.

Works great with my Boost Mobile phone. Took a while to figure out the correct setting for my phone, but so far so good. Used to work great but now on my Note5 when I go to print, everything is in blk and white and the printer settings won't let me change it to color. SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Once I understood that I needed to use the Cloud Print for email, and the direct plugin for printing from my browser and other applications, such as Word, Excell, or Google sheets, I've had no problems. As my printer does have its own email address, this Does facilitate collaboration! Others can email things I need to preview, via hard copy, directly to my printer. I like that!

Absolutely amazing. No problems. I downloaded app to my Android Samsung 7 phone and can print anything on my phone. From pictures to documents. PDF, Microsoft word, excel no problem with anything I've printed. Using cloud services I can print anything I have. As long as I can get to it from my phone then its printable. Very simple also. I'm 57 & learning to use a smart phone was an ordeal. So if I can use this with no problems then anyone can use it with ease.

It used to work well, but now it rarely works. It thinks I have 2 printers whereas I never had more than one and there is no way to delete the false printer. Furthermore, since there is no way to turn off the sleep mode on my Officejet4630, I have to manually wake it up to print. YES, I have tried all of the online fixes. They don't work!

I like the HP print app. Since some updates, the app would not communicate with my Android cell phone even though the Wi-Fi connection was showing connected on the app. I contacted HP support and it was determined that all I needed to do was turn off the HP app and then turn it on again. Overall, HP has a nice app. Thank you HP!

In the past I have seen a 2 or 3 minute delay. (That could have been a printer issue). I have not seen it recently though. Other than that, it is very reliable, and gives you clear choices as to where to print, choose layout, etc... it doesn't just send prints to default locations, with default settings. Very happy with app.

I can actually print from my cell phone and from my IPad. It was real easy to link everything. I use it almost every day. Trust me..... if I could link everything so it works, anyone can. I've been running into problems lately where I have to the off then back on just to reconnect. This is very annoying.

With the recent update, now the driver is "stuck" in "Black and White" printing mode. When you try to change the selection, only B&W printing comes up on my Nexus 7. (The printer prints in color from my Android Phone, so the printer is just fine.) It's just pathetic that the leader in printing, can't write a decent print driver. I just wasted 10 pages, of HP expensive ink, trying to print a single page.

Since I installed the latest update, I can no longer print in colour. The plugin was working fine before and now I am stuck with no option of returning to the previous version. Very very annoying. My HP rinter is always having issues but this is ridiculous. To make an app worse with an update is just pure genius.

Crashes every time I try and change a print option (like double sided or black and white instead of color) and locks up requiring force close of phone to clear status. When printing is done, the HP Print manager stays active in task bar, and when choosing it to clear or cancel, it doesn't respond. Only way to clear it is to reboot Motorola Turbo2.

This app will not print from my gs5, gs7 or tab 4. Phoned them about it and they said they don't know anything about it, considering I've tried 3 different Samsung devices I don't believe them. I was just told to use eprint that is not direct printing, harder to use and doesn't print emails as you see on device. Going to try again to contact customer service to see if they have a fix yet.

This plugin worked great until recent update. Every time I go to print from my nexus 6p, this plugin affects my Wi-Fi connection and I am unable to print. Turned off Wi-Fi direct discovery more, checked router, printer, and other computers... It is definitely due to this app. Needs fix.

I love being able to print from my phone no matter where I am, as long as there is a printer nearby. Makes printing pictures and documents so much easier. I don't have to run to my PC to print an email. Thank you HP! Update 10/13/16. I signed up for the instant ink and I love it already. I literally was so close to running out of ink and I received my ink in the mail with the welcome kit within days. I will be sure to update if I receive my next shipment and if it's cost effective. Thank you HP! *** I had to edit this app because it doesn't always connect to my HP printer from my phone! I can't print and I get an error message saying that it couldn't connect to printer, yet I just printed something. Very aggravating!

It does not display my printer right away. I notice that the the light has to be on in order for your device to pick it up. Even when it's lit up, my phone displays that the printer settings could not be completed and it will not let me print. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge plus, I've updated everything several times but still have the same problem.

Same issue as other Nexus 6P users. Worked great until recently. Every time I try and print using the plugin, it disables my wifi connection and it won't come back until I cancel the print job. It also disables wifi when checking printer information from system - printing.

3 major problems. 1)There STILL isn't any means to select the paper tray to use, and it defaults to the manual handling tray (tray 1 A4, no other options). Means I have to go up to the printer and manually insert every sheet, one by one, when printing from my phone. 2)There isn't any way to select alternate output size. So while the default paper size of A4 is correct, I can't print an A5 or 6x4 image on it. Everything has to be expanded to full page, which is pretty annoying. Made worse by problem 3. 3) Neither 'Full page' or 'Fit to page' will fit a photo on a page. It's always too big.

It gets the job done! Though, it is loud during it's random maintenance and when you try to cancel a print, it makes a lot of noise for quite some time. But the prints are good quality and it is very easy to use. I love the scanner! Good job.

This app works sometimes but not sure if it is the app or my phone. I love that I can print things from anywhere with the email address that is specifically for my printer so when my computer has problems and I end up at the library I can have color presentations printed waiting for me at home. That's awesome!

The day of desktop computers and line-in printers has come to an almost completion. I enjoy ease of printing from almost anywhere. Load the printer with photo ready paper and print your selfie for family members who aren't smartphone literate messaging for an aging parent or grandparents.

Cant spool more than 2 print jobs at a time. it freezes up on the printing. And most of the time it tells me the printer is not available but if you wait it comes up, so it is very slow as well. But for 1 print job options and being able to print from your phone and your tablet is a great idea. 3/23/17 they did an update recently and now i can only print in black and white. i dont know why and i cant find a link to contact customer support to resolve this issue.

Works OK on the mobile. Tends to connect a bit clunky, in as much as it tells you that the printer is not connected (when it is), but if you persist a few moments, it works, and when it works, it works well. Pretty handy features like landscape option and colour options, the number of copies to print etc..

Hit print, icon comes up, immediately disappears saying "printer not available." Unless I wake the printer up manually first it just doesn't work. Might as well log on to pc if I need to go in the other room instead of optimizing the wireless connection

This app used to work great. Not sure if an update to my phone or the app changed its usability but now it is hit or miss. No matter my location, the wireless function has a hard time finding printers, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. Very frustrating when u really need it to work and it doesn't. Edit: As of late thus app has been working great not sure of why the change in productivity but I'm happy.

The options panel is focused primarily on selling supplies. Can't see the printer that you used before? Maybe you should try it with the auto-order setting on. I used it when I set it up, and it installed and ran fine from my phone. Now? Printer can't be found.

Requires NASA engineer hacking skills to get anything to print.. did i mention the printer is a dinosaur ? Well i finally got it to print..but only b/w.. but not by simply hitting print button.. things should get easier, not increasing difficulty. Anyone know how to get it to print color pics ??

I bought this printer for school and oooooooh my goshes, it's works great and it totally awesome (yes I used the title). I am happy with the printer. The printer does an amazing job but as for the app, I'd like the option to print multiple slides on one page instead of full pages. It's such a waste.

I don't think I've ever written a review on anything but I have to say that this app and buying HP printer with automatic ink refills was the best investment I have ever made! The printer was only around $50 and the quality is excellent and I never run out of ink! My model is 3633 and I love it! :-) :-) :-) :-)

This print service won't find your printer unless you're using HP's default networking scheme. I've configured my HP 4700 dtn with a fixed IP of 192.169.101.249 but the app insists on "searching" for the printer on 192.168.0.x. It won't even try the IP I've configured. It never finds my printer so it never prints. QUIT SEARCHING FOR MY PRINTER! Send the data to the configured IP!

I have long searched for ways to print from my device. And while I admit that I did not do a ton of research I have downloaded several Oddities as far as applications go and I must say that this app actually does the job. I am now able to print recipes from my phone to my computer. This makes my life much easier. The truth is I still can't figure out how to get the print correct because the text is very large period but I am working on figuring it out. Overall this application is a 10 out of 10

Would like to see a few changes... I don't always want/need to print the entire file, would be great to have option to print specific page or select page to print. Also, a smaller font would use less paper...And to print on both sides of paper so I don't waste as much paper... Just a small wish list.

Finally am able to print something without having to run to my laptop. Also app works so easy from my tablet. I hit print & I right away it prints exactly what I want from anywhere in the house. Haven't had this app long, but so far it works Update: when I first started using this app it worked well. Now after several updates it only works about half the time. One time it will work first time I hit print, but more often it says "HP print spooler not responding". Then I have to keep going back to try again until it finally works.

Every time I go to use this app I get a message stating that HP print has stopped, I have reported this every time andyes it did it agian today. Then when the app does open and one presses print the HP app decides to be unavaiable Great one has to set the printer up all over again. Great if one has lots of time to waste if not I would find a better print app than this one

Love it works with my PC works with my kindle fire and works great with several different cell phones & tablets we use in the family both Android and iPad. Also I've found the key to use it from any divice that some may not know about my HP ENVY has its own email address so even if people who aren't using the app can send documents to my printer from any email account love love love this.
