About TexTab

Notes:
- Install the app on both your phone and tablet!
- If you have trouble connecting, turn bluetooth off and on on both devices. If that doesn't work, restart both devices.
- If you don't receive incoming messages on the tablet, and you are running Go SMS, make sure to uncheck "disable other message notification" in the Go SMS settings.

TexTab is an SMS app for Android phones and tablets. It allows you to send and receive SMS messages on your tablet, as if you were sending them from your phone. Once a connection is established between your phone and tablet using bluetooth, you can send messages using TexTab, and received messages will show up on the tablet.

Features:
- Honeycomb optimized, though not required
- Contact information is pulled from your synced Google contacts
- Widget to enable/disable TexTab. Widget also displays connection information
- Notifications for received messages on tablet

Please note the Lite version, which has a limited number of sent messages. Try that first if you'd like to make sure everything works for you before buying!

A great application for those that like to text over a tablet but can utilize their current cell phone. Occasionally the connection breaks, but from my experience Bluetooth is a challenge for developers. Highly recommended. David.

App is simple and to the point. I wish the widget was more functional though but other than that, no complaints at all.

The keyboard must be fixed. Everytime I accidentaly clicked the next button it automaticaly sends my message though i havent finished typing yet. Pictures are way too big. There should be a way to customize font size. And most important is an interactive and attractive user interface. Tablet talk offers great user interface but I chose to continue use texttab because it works better. Hope that this would be resolved and I promise to give you 5. Meanwhile 4 stars are what it deserve.

I'm using TexTab on Samsung Galaxy 5 player with the Sony Ericsson Xperia android cell. And it works like expected. But I'd like serious changes: 1. There is no customization on display. User pic too big. 2. Why bluetooth? Why not wifi? My Galaxy 5 already needs a wifi connection to access everything else anyway. Besides, I think wifi has a longer range and does not need line-of-site access. 3. Why is the main txt screen setup that way. Why not a more traditional display. One screen, one ongoing conversation. Currently It ends up just being confusing. Example: I send the message, "you looked sexy last night", who gets the message. On the Galaxy 5, huge user pictures are showing on the left and overlapping txt messages on the right.... Who gets the message. My 46 year old friend who likes me and I'm attracted to her but not sure if risking the frienship is wise. My 32 year old married friend who lives in another city, we flirt allot without her husbad knowing about it. Or my favorite 12 year old neice? I'm already thought to be the "special" uncle who is just different??? FYI, it was for my 46 year old friend. 4. If txt can be sent and received, why not phone calls?

But it's bloody annoying that it sends the message if you accidentally hit the enter key!!! Change this and remove the stupid check box on the incoming call box and I would rate this 5* but at the moment it's 1/2 baked and annoying!

Great app, love being able to text from my tablet, just needs the option to have TEXTAB appear on the SHARE list to be perfect. Currently, if you want to share something, like a link, you must copy the link and paste it into textab rather than just choosing the SHARE button from whatever app you are in. When they add TEXTAB to the SHARE list, it will be FIVE stars.

Perfect app for texting from the tablet....5 stars......the developer is quick to respond to questions too....one improvement I would like to see is a pop up for incoming SMS.....I look forward to great updates ......thanks...its an awesome app

This App does what it says it will do but the UI is a little clunky. It would be great to be able to see phone status on tablet too as I use on the train where coverage can be patchy. Lastly tapping on the notification opens the application but not the message that has been received and reading the message on the tablet doesn't market read on the phone. But this is a great app that could easily made exceptional..

Absolutely great. I tried, and usually bought, every other app like this. This is the only one that is absolutely rock sold stable and reconnects from tablet without fail every time it is started. I've used it for months and wouldn't be without it on a wifi only tablet. For that the five stars are well earned. That said, there's room for improvement. The UI is drab; the single (expanding) line text field sucks; context is easily lost with its contacts display. Not perfect by any means, but works reliably.

D70%
by D####:

This app is great! It would be nice if you could fix the timestamp though because it shows the wrong time from when they actually sent the message. Also being able to send and recieve MMS would be nice as well. Other than that it is really good I would definitely recommend it.

Droid x/ xoom, app works flawlessly so far, sends messages quickly, and alerts me to receipt of a message before my phone does! doesn't kill battery, and as long as you remember to leave textab enabled on both devices, it will auto connect when it comes back in range, or when you turn on bluetooth. My only complaint, the UI is a bit awkward for my taste, needs a bit of a tune up, then it would be perfect

D70%
by D####:

This app is OK! Two problems I have are 1.Every time I restart this tablet, the app tries to make me buy it all over again claiming it's unlicensed. And even though it may update, it still claims it's unlicensed. You really need to fix that. When i go home, I don't have WiFi so the app is useless at home, because i can't keep hitting 'try again' 50 times before it realizes i paid for this app already months ago. with out wifi to constantly verify you bought the app, you're screwed. I paid for something i can only use around WiFi basically. Developer needs to fixed this. 2.No sending MMS >__

Several small changes would be nice. If it could mark SMS on phone as read, call notifications on tablet should close when call is answered, and... A better UI on the tablet.

amazing. only app that lets me seamlessly send sms messages from my tablet to phone contacts.
