Hostelworld: Hostels & Cheap Motels Travel App

TERRIBLE!!!!! Total invasion of privacy!!!! The fact that this company requires you to disclose your nationality when the top hotels of the WORLD don't even ask you for that is extremely unsettling. The rep I was talking with didn't even care that it was an issue. She just brushed it off saying, "Oh, it's company policy." More like she was saying "too bad so sad. We don't care about your privacy or your feelings." Horrible policy and horrible concern for privacy!!! You need to change this IMMEDIATELY!!!

First app review ever, because this app deserves it. Litterally facilitated my solo tour across Europe for 3.5 months, and about to use it again for my asai tour. Best thing ever

Easy to find and order cheap hostels in north thailand (probably other places too), lots of info and reviews very helpful

It's a great app but I would either offer the option to choose different arrival times past the usual times between 13 - 23 hrs or add a comment section so if I do arrive later/early I can let them know through rhe app instead of contacting hostels again through email or phone call.

Good app to compare prices and features of each place. Lots of reviews also helps to make decisions

Bloody rubbish. Downloaded the app, once installed tried to run it only for it to reboot my phone. Tried again once the phone rebooted, nope reboot again, and again. Went to uninstall it, nope can't do that either as it crashes the uninstaller package (and any other uninstaller app I have tried) So now have an app on my phone that I can't do anything with, cheers

If the app would just stop zooming out after you look at a hostel it would be so much easier. For example looking for a hostel in one area, u choose it, and then u go back to map view and the app zooms our again. Extremely annoying

Have fun scrolling through every month of every year since January 2000 to find your birthday. It's the little things. Overall, yeah, pretty convenient, but stuff like this makes you go "oh, c'mon, for real? "

After I make a booking via this app, I immediately receive a confirmation email. The first line of the email is an advertisement urging me to install this app. How stupid is that? They advertise this app to me one second after I prove to them that I have downloaded it already.

Great app to have while travelling. It usually shows all the available hostels in a given city. They of course take a small cut for each reservation so it's slightly cheaper to book through the hostels themselves but this is only an option with larger ones. No issues so far with the app itself.

Great app for travellers. I've been doing a cross Canada road trip and this app works great to find last minute stays which is great when youre just winging it city to city. Easy to use layout. It would be better if you could use a search engine for the "plan my trip" portion instead of just the very few select cities available.

Fantastic app. Easy to use. Only thing that's missing is a map feature with all the available hostels on it. You can see where the selected hostel is on the map, but it would be great to have them all on the same map. This is only a minor gripe. Otherwise great app

Pathetic service. No response to customer problems. Booked a hostel but the hostel said that they do not tie ups with hostel world. Hostelworld cheated me by charging me for a hostel they do not have tie ups with. I had to book another hotel. Worst hostel booking service. Fake

It was my favorite app to find hostels around in new Zeland. But in South East is useless. So sad that I have to use other apps here.

Automatically books you as to people for twice the cost. Very difficult to spot this and they won't return your money...they do it on purpose to rip people off.

This is a nice and easy to use app. My only complaint is that there are many hostels not logged into this system so I still have to crosscheck with Google before booking.

I find this app amazing. Mobile version is super user-friendly and I always make my bookings on the phone. I also love the possibility to save my deposit with just at ridiculous price. Keep up with the great work!

Be aware... I downloaded this app and booked two hostels in same area. I also then had a another hostel booked under my credit card in a completely different continent at the same time... after asking further hostelworld would not release the information of the other person booking under my details. Be very aware, it may not be that secure. And hostelworld will NOT help you out.

The app still tells you the price of the cheapest room even though I'm filtering on double bed rooms. This makes it very cumbersome to go through every listing.

So the app has ben quoting me in Canadian dollars then I get to the hostel to find out its in euros.. That's robbery I want my money back

Im an uber driver and because of this app had one of the best conversations I've had in a really long time, all in two different languages. Complete game changer!!!

This app is sick, literally booked my entire trip on it. Easy cancellations, reliable system. I've been recommending it to everyone.

Great app for booking hostels! Used it while traveling in Europe and while in Thailand. Reviews on the app are helpful. The app also tells you what the hostels provide & accept. Just don't look to book the night of staying and if you think you may have to cancel get the "insurance" when you go to pay the deposit.

Have been traveling around Europe for 2 months and have used every time I need to book a new place. Easy to use and really appreciate the reviews.

Need more details on map and how to get to the hostel, and maybe it's good to add what famous places are near to the hostel. I like the app, useful and easy to use!

I love hostel world! I didn't realize there was an app until recently, works wonderfully! Hands down the best way to book accommodations for travelers.

Been traveling Europe for a few months now, dont go traveling without this app its simply amazing there really is nothing to stress about to find accomodation with this app its easy and you'll meet awesome people.

Used the app to request deposit refund for a stay that was cancelled. After an initial 'we'll look into it' no correspondence through the app at all. Poor system and service

They send me to an full hotel i have to leave. and they charge the night Anyway. Never give me back my money.
