BMI- This is your Body Mass Index. This tells you if you are at a healthy weight for your age and height. The normal ranges are supplied so you will know where you need to be.
Body Fat Percentage- Based on your measurements, you can get an estimate of the amount of fat on your body. This is important for setting your weight loss goals. Excessive fat on the body causes your hormones not to work so well and can lead to heart disease and many other complications.
Waist-Height-Ratio- This is a very important measurement that can predict your risk for serious heart disease. Abdominal fat can increase your waist measurement. As abdominal fat deposits increase, so does your risk for heart attacks. Depending on the ratio of your height to your waist, you could be at risk. You can use this tool to determine if you are in a good range. If not start a weight loss and exercise program and seek medical help.
Weight Loss Percentage- As you embark on any diet you need to be able to track your progress. On average, you should set each goal to lose 5% of your weight as your starting goal. After achieving this goal, set the next 5% goal. Use this tool to calculate your weight loss percentage by simply entering your initial weight and your final weight.
