About Syntax Highlighted Code Editor

FAST CODE HIGHLIGHTING

Code Me Silly is not a wysiwyg... It's a syntax highlighted HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP editor. This app also supports Python, Java, C, C++, CoffeeScript, Haskel, Clojure, and Groovy, but is primarily meant for web developers.

Code Me Silly provides search/replace, undo, redo functionality with some on-screen keyboard helpers.

You can preview your file inside the application with ease... You can create a whole website on your Phone/Tablet!! The best advantage is not having to deal with an FTP server all the time.

Code Highlighting provided by CodeMirror(codemirror.net).

strange app

Q70%
by Q####:

the controls don't fit on my screen and can't be turned off, and scrolling horisontally doesn't work(works only with arrow keys) otherwise it's fine.

Very nice

X70%

hey did you know your highlighting does not parse at all? comments were erratic halfway colored, and absolutly no highlighting was performed at all for anything. why have you even put this app out on play? your pics look good but on real code not a thing. cant even say good try,

X70%
by X####:

Can I see my code like what the output is. I will rate 5 stars and reinstall if I can

Does not theme toolbar. No exit button...can always uninstall

X70%

Very helpful way to code while in transit

W70%
by W####:

Conceptually a great tool but the execution isn't all there. Needs support for phones/devices without menu buttons. Copy/Paste is mostly broken on android 4.2. And a bunch of other things just don't work as expected.

S70%
by S####:

I got what I wanted. Thanks guys.

X70%
by X####:

Couldn't paste code. Long pressing, and the paste option only flashes up for a fraction of a second. Menu > paste option doesn't work. Also the bracket keys above keyboard are a bit too small (portrait mode, Xperia Z2, full hd resolution). Also missing some other important programming characters.

Not work with sdcard

R70%

No sidescrolling? No productivity

R70%
by R####:

not intuitive. Clumsy. I'd better view the code in notepad.

N70%
by N####:

Syntax highlighting is good. Switching orientation resets the application which it's unacceptable. Sidescrolling the text is not possible. This app needs some work still but it's getting there. I'd call this Beta phase. V1.1

N70%
by N####:

can't see my external sdcard, and no access to system files. useless. uninstalling

N70%
by N####:

Your program is unstable when viewed over the bionic webtop. Not testing without it; not writing code typing on a phone keyboard.

N70%
by N####:

little current use. UI is far from intuitive from the file open dialog to how to quit. continues to display welcome "code" even after opening a file without giving a clue that you have actually opened a file. etc... lg730/venice

S70%
by S####:

Very bad. Cant scroll to the side. And when i put the phone in landskape the code just dissapears and the "welcome" code replases it. Galaxy note

P70%
by P####:

Seems good from first look. But you can't close the app?! I can only exit by pressing my home button.

N70%
by N####:

I like this. App is amazing

P70%
by P####:

No option to delete code User needs to hit the back button to delete

X70%
by X####:

Keyboard constantly goes up and down when selecting custom symbols, the text constantly reverts back to original placeholder text, especially if you rotate the orientation of the screen. Fix the bugs and I'll rereview

N70%
by N####:

Can't scroll left to right. Nexus S

N70%
by N####:

I can't enter a new line. No matter what I do.

N70%
by N####:

Resets to default everything when rotating

N70%
by N####:

I am learning python and i can't figure out how to run a program after coding.

N70%
by N####:

i uninstalled this app

N70%
by N####:

can't scroll side to side, and the app resets when you change orientations losing all work, also no way to exit from within the app. looking forward to updates however.

N70%
by N####:

Perfect for web development! Best one I've found and its free! FTP upload would be nice.

K70%
by K####:

This is way too big for my Samsung intercept screen. The arrows are huge and it's slow to respond.

U70%
by U####:

Its WYSIWYG + COLORS Also, don't expect to be able to store files on the SD card. And the keyboard disappears when I use the arrow keys, then I have to hit the button to get the keyboard back up, and the whole page is jumping around in this process.

N70%
by N####:

Needs some work. Don't have time for a lengthy review but one of my major issues with it is if I leave it idle for more than 30 seconds the original welcome file opens back up, which is ridiculous. Other than its various faults it holds some promise.

N70%
by N####:

Great app helps me a lot specially in C++..
