Total Connect Comfort for Android
Great stat. Somewhat difficult to set up the wi fi. I had to use a mobile device to imput wireless routers password into stat and then use my pc to register stat with Honeywell then download an app to control stat with my phone. It worked so well with my central ac that I spent the next two hours relocating my wiring for heating boiler over to wireless stat. Now can have control of stat anywhere I have a Internet connection. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is that I would like more schedules
Once you have it set up to Wi-Fi it is very convenient to be able to check any where you're at to see if the system is running. Nice to be able to set temperature at one point and a day before you come home too cool or heat your house back up. Would recommend it for everybody. Love getting the notices when it is disconnected like when our electricity went out. Then got one when it was back connected when electricity came back on. Five stars
I'm pleasantly surprised with how well it works. I have had to install the app twice and since I've had it for a short time, I hope that doesn't become a consistent quirk. Otherwise it's very nicely done. I've never programmed the schedule on any thermostat I've ever had because it's a pain in the rump. Not this time, it's the first time it's made sense. It's nice to be able to track your house temp from anywhere and it's nice to come home to a warm house. Kudos Honeywell!
The app adjustment for lowering the the heat or cool is only finger nail in size. App has to be removed and reinstalled frequently. App sometime takes control of the phone by opening after it has been closed. Don't stop until you reboot your phone many times. Setup easy. Works better when closer to thermostat. Does not work well on my galaxy 3 android phone.
I installed this thermostat on the geothermal heat pump system in my 2nd home. It is very reassuring to know that the heat is working there on a subzero day. Also convenient to be able to warm up the place before I get there. A few quirks in setup, specifically in registration of the account. Installation was about 2 hours instead of what should have been 30 minutes, but phone support was good.
We've been using the app for a few weeks now and so far so good. It really helps with managing our heating and cooling needs. After initial install, the app did fail to connect for a few hours. I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Haven't seen the issue since. Additionally, I wish there was a way to monitor usage from the app. But all in all....pretty happy.
I read many reviews that claims you have full control from your smartphone app. This is not true. You do not have full control. The thermostat works great and allows you to customize just about any setup you can think of. Just wish I was able to control the same features from the app. Unlike the Ecobee thermostat which allows you all the same menue controls on the app that is on the thermostat. Honeywell please update the app to allow us the same menue functions from the thermostat to work on the app
This thermostat is amazing for the price. I was gonna buy a "nest" system but am glad I tried this first. Connecting is easy, reliable, AND FAST. It's nearly real time and most WiFi therms have a delay, not this bad boy! You change the temp and click submit and by the time you look up, it's already changed.
I love gadgets so my husband doesn't fight it anymore. When we picked this thermostat up he thought it was silly to control the thermostat with your phone. We just spent 2 weeks away and I was able to keep an eye on our house temp as the temps outside was rising to ensure our cats were safe in the house with a safe temperature. I have never had a problem with the app or installation of the unit. Definitely recommended to friends and family.
Easy to use and set and greatly appreciated the ability to effortlessly change the upstairs zones from the comfort of my livingroom couch. We are empty nesters with our bedroom on the main floor...Upstairs bedrooms are kept at a lower temp. and adjusted if we have weekend guests, which is quite frequent. When my knee went out and I didn't have to walk upstairs to lower or raise the temperature I really loved the wireless feature even more!
I'm a security company owner and Honeywell dealer. You can't beat their superior products. I am not paid for this endorsement nor receive credit. The app and T-Stat's are going to be your best friend. They will surely save you money in monthly utility costs. Gives you the power of controlling everything remotely especially if you have persons in your home or business that like to turn the stats up or down beyond your set requirements.
Easy to install. Easy to set up and use. In use for 3 months with my Galaxy S3 and Tab2. No problems so far. UPDATE... Has been in continuous use now with an S5 for over 2 yrs with absolutely no problems. Saved me a lot of trouble and money last winter by alerting me to low temperature due to faulty furnace while we were in Florida. Wouldn't be without it! . .UPDATE 9/24/16: Absolutely no problems and am using a Samsung S7 now.
Pretty nifty. But, upgrading from a 40 year old one, anything is better!! Now I can keep my house cool at night, and warm it up b4 getting out of bed! Installing is easier if you don't have an old one that has a loop wire. That confused us. I Goggled thermostats for a while, then BAM!! Hooked it up like a boss!!
After I got through installing the thermostat, which needed an auxiliary 24VAC power supply (luckily there were two extra wires) the thermostat works great. Hard to understand over the phone Honeywell support personnel was of no help, due to thick accent. I found third party YouTube video instructions. However, after connecting and easy registration thermostat programming is easy from laptop and android. Actually it is easier to program on line. I bought another one to have better control in the house.
Very easy to use. Simple interface. Easy to override schedule. Thanks for adding whether the heat or AC is currently running rather than simply showing whether the system is currently on. Now to make it perfect, we need a widget that tells you the temperature of your house without having to open the app. This would tell us when not home what the temp is at home.
It works pretty well. There's a lag time since everything is internet based. So it has to go out to the internet even when you're on the same network. But most of the updates have been pretty good, so the app has definitely improved over the past few years. Automatic learning and adjusting of the schedule would be nice. (like another competitor's device), but it's still useful.
This app is all about collecting data from you. You can input the schedule for your thermostat. You can adjust the temperature setpoint or turn the system off. The problem with this app is that you only get the current temperature and humidity reading in return. While this is useful, I was expecting much more from a "smart" thermostat. Where are the historical trends? The data is being sent to Honeywell it would be very useful if they would give us access to it.
I took some time and looked at most of the WiFi enabled thermostats out there. This one by far had the best price of the larger screen models. The ability to adjust background themes is great. This is a plus if you have trouble seeing the display on other models. I can control it using my Amazon Echo, using the free app on my Android or Apple phone. I am very happy with this and didn't have to spend twice the amount for the Nest brand that only shows you the set temperature and not the indoor temp!
I didn't want to spend a fortune on a wireless thermostat, and thanks to Honeywell, I didn't have to. App is simple and easy to use, quick to set up, and so handy. My daughter even downloaded the app. It's great but then that's no surprise. Honeywell has been making first class electronics for many years. My father swore by them. I'll be looking for more of their products in the future. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!
There's a lot of convenience being able to program with the Wi-Fi. They've done a good job creating an intuitive app / process. My only complaints are with the unit itself. I would like the option of more settings in a day....there's many people who have split schedules. I also would like to be able to set for the blower to run at certain times during the day. It would be nice to be able to adjust the hysteresis, along with warm-up/ cool down parameters. These are pretty simple software functions....
Simple and easy to understand UI puts everything you need in easy reach. Really glad there isn't any extraneous UI getting in the way of what the app is supposed to do. Only bug I've noticed in conjunction with my thermostat is occasionally the app will erroneously show a "Fan is On" notice when that is not the case. I've only noticed this happening when in heating mode.
I'm new to this application. Had a thermostat at a second home fail and decided to replace it with a new, Honeywell, Wi-Fi enabled model. Easy to use, easy to install and in addition to the standalone app, can also be viewed through Samsung Smartthings. Allows control and monitoring of building temperature from thousands of miles away with the added benefit of email alerts to others for over or under temperature conditions. Local people can be notified to remedy any problems.
This was very easy to set up. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there is a little sizing issues on my display. Some of the letters are cut off which makes it difficult to tea whether your system is currently turned on. Other than that it's so easy and functional that i still think it's an awesome app.
As I was sitting in my chair, wrapped up in a blanket on Thanksgiving morning I couldn't get why it was so chilly in the house. Then I realized it was a Thursday and the thermostat was set to 60 degrees because we're normally at work. I really did not want to get up and adjust the temperature. I was cold after all! Then I remembered I could do it with my phone from the comfort of my chair. A couple of short easy clicks and I was warm and toasty.
As a frequent traveler, I use this often to adjust system while I'm gone. I can turn it off completely and then turn it back on as soon as the plane lands. By the time I get bags and drive home, the house is comfortable. Two family members have bought them after seeing mine.
Hard to tell when a temp change is actually accepted. Many times I will make a change and not find out until hours later that it was not accepted. They really need something to say submitting and to go away when it is accepted. When it says it loses wifi connection to unit, it is 5-6 hrs off so not even in my timezone I guess - useless. I went to website for install PDF and it said 'Our site is currently in maint mode'? It's 9am guys - crazy. I'm use to using a diff one that has a more intuitive interface. Otherwise this app and product is ok for remote control of thermostat
Unlike cheaper brands wifi thermostats apps, this app doesn't offer a way to track run time in the app. Other brands offer Runtime Reports which gives you the minute-by-minute data about your heating and air conditioning system, like when it turns on/off, how long it ran, and if the heat or AC was running. Really a good tool to track energy use and ensure the unit is running good. Love the unit itself but really miss the report feature my old unit offered.
My old thermostat used batteries so I needed to connect the "C wire". That required me to take off the panel of my Air handler and trace that wire from the board to where it was spliced with another wire. I added the extra wire I found not being used at my thermostat on the wall (my C wire was baby blue) to that connection in the air handler and turned the breaker on and it worked. I am very happy with it. The screen was smaller than expected and it is always on. The app is easy to navigate on my phone.
Update : Years later, still rock solid and dependable. I really like the scheduling features. It's nice to be able to group the days together and click through a schedule quickly. Manual control with the app is easy as well. The app works as expected. Haven't had any problems yet.
I use these stats to monitor the arrivals and departures of our guests in our condo's. When they leave I can make sure the settings are not to low for A/C or to high for heat keeping my energy costs down. Have had these stats for about 3 years with no problems.
pls pls pls make the wifi 7day programmable thermostat integrate w amazon echo for voice activated control. I would give it 5 stars but it has so much potential and it is not avaliable. I can't believe that I found a cheaper thermostat called sensi that has amazon echo compatability. I'm wondering if I should switch.
Works great. I don't use the voice features of the app, but it is nice they are there. I would love to see some analytics added to the app, such as total run time of the AC unit each day to better estimate electricity costs, maybe plotted against an outside temperature graph.
Love the way this thing works! Especially to have the warning messages sent to me wherever I happen to be! Been handy several times. I just wish it had some logs of run times and indoor/outdoor temps throughout the day. Would be handy to help determine next seasons energy needs!
Just what I wanted and so easy to use. I wanted to remotely monitor and adjust my house while I am away from my Montana winters. It provides the local temp and humidity for my zip. I thought the WiFi thermostat had great things going for but add this app, you will need nothing more. Zero cliches for over 2 month now.
Very user friendly. Wish you could set up alerts to warn you of problems.
for the most part works good it needs little more detail for better communication with furnace
The problem what I have is it keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi
App is responsive, easy to understand, and hasn't crashed so far.
I just bought a new WiFi thermostat and I love it!!!

The app does what it says on the tin but looks like it was designed for an iPhone in 2010 and not touched since. The Honeywell team should look to Emerson's Sensi app for an app with great usability/layout and more features. At this point, the only thing going for the Honeywell thermostat over the Sensi I moved to another zone is the SmartThings and Google Home integration which doesn't require using this app.
