Honeywell Lyric for Android
Device telemetry start error. I have never been able to connect my thermostat to the app. Thermostat works just fine, app needs attention. I have owned my thermostat for 2 months now and it has failed to setup every single time. I hoped the issue would be resolved with the update, but I just updated the app and tried again with same results. At this point the only thing left for me is uninstall since I'm not able to use it anyway.
Every time I try to install on android phone, it says "Device telemetry start error: thermostat is not able to connect to Cloud". Sweet.
Frost protection doesn't work at all. When you come home after it's night time it reverts to the day temperature. Humidity editing screen has double percentage signs.
There should be a way to export the data out of the app for long term, type monitoring. Also please provide the option for changing the time scale of trend data (3 days, 1 week, 1month, 3months, etc.) And also ability to view fixed temperature ranges input by the user (only temperatures between X°F and Y°F).
More statistical data please! :) I love both my Lyrics. I like the app a lot too. I would like to have more functional data from my app as far as usages on my thermostats. Any updates would be great! Love it!
Needs either faster update of graph or refresh button. Needs bigger font on graph. Needs numbers and lines labeling levels on graph between min and max.

The app works great. The instructions during setup were easy to follow and got it working and program in about 45 minutes. I am not super handy either. You do need to know a little bit about what type of system you have and if I wasn't sure I went with the most common option. My a.c. is about 17 years old so I figured most of it was pretty typical. The one thing I would like added to the app is a bar graph of daily stats of how long the a.c. ran, the time it started, and what temperature it was cooling/heating to.
App doesn't work well on Android. I got everything set up with two cameras. I log in and everything works great. When I open the app again it says it timed out and I need to log in again. But it won't let me, says 'Unable to login. Please try again later.' interesting that on my wife's iPhone it doesn't time out and she has no trouble logging in. What's that all about?
I can't login..... Can't reset password... Servers down.. we know but what about people not at home wanting to shut on or off the unit... They're screwed....It's works half and half. Needs a big app upgrade and more app features along with stability within the app it's self. I'm constantly losing connections with router and what is the point of having a smart thermostat if it's not connected
This is the 5th time I've had to delete and reinstall because it won't work with the Android application. If I'd of know that I definitely would have bought something different since I'm still getting up to change my temp or check to make sure it's working. I spent extra for convenience and it's not very convenient!
I love this app. Setup was easy and straight forward. It occasionally loses WiFi connection, but it's brief and not common; it also reestablishes connection on its own. I do wish the scheduler had an option for when to turn the fan on circulate vs auto instead of having to do it manually everyday. I honestly couldn't go back to a regular thermostat.
I am HVAC contractor and bought the thermostat to see if I can recommend it to my customers. The app is good and easy to use. Thermostat is nice as well but after installation and setting schedule it freaked out. First somehow it figured out on its own that I am using heat pump when I have a furnace for heat. Changed it in the contractor mode. After fixing one issue another one came. After working fine for 2 or 3 hours it started cooling even below setting point. After basically whole night of cooling I just had to turn it off because it just wouldn't turn the A/C off.
App works for me I think many of the issues are end user and not the thermostat or Honeywell issues. I called support and they are good (not great but good) I found out I couldn't connect with my Pixel XL but worked on an older version of Android so it set up fine from my Samsung pad. All is good now, learn to take a breath & relax it is not the end of the world if things are a learning curve.
After a bit of trouble, which Honeywell tech support got me through... everything is working fine. It's a simple app that has the basics. The scheduling options are good (love the 7 day option). My only criticism is that I wish it had web access too.
Taken 2 weeks to complete the set up process. Customer services answer is to repeatedly log in and out and restart the process. Also unsure how the Geofencing works when my GPS is turned off and to what temp it works to. Would also benefit from been able to set your own pin number for the lock function. But other than that the app seems fine so once you get set up it should fine
I liked this before I had to install on new phone. Now it constantly logs me out, then I can't log back in, I try a password reset and that fails, so I have to wait hours to try the reset again. Then I reset the pw to the exact same one I've been using. I don't know if there are hours now when you can't use the app, but it's frustrating to try to use the app and can't because it won't let you in.
Ran into errors within a week after installation.Thermostat issues were resolved with a quick phone call after I followed the online help section. The thermostat wouldn't connect to the cloud; errors included telemetry error or device not allowed to register. Tech support cleared my account to the cloud and got it up and running in 20 minutes. I'm very pleased with this app and thermostat. Love geofencing, works like a dream. It's already saving me money with the apps programmable features. Absolutely, love Honeywell.
Like Bob Thomas, the water leak detector did not show up in my app. But I created an account, then logged in and it showed right up then. The devices connected very easily and I tested one by getting the sensor wet. I received an immediate notice. Very pleased with this. Would have given it a five if it had the ability to do text alerts.
The App is Great. However, it was a real mission to hook up the unit. It's definitely not just plug right up and go. It took me over 3 hours of trouble shooting and trips up and down to the unit, then back to the thermostat.... definitely shortened my life by a week or 2.
Does not show the water leak detector as a supported device. I have a pile of expensive paperweights. Update: The leak detectors only show up if you register and log in first. If you just try to add a device directly, it only shows the thermostats and security cameras. Pairing with the device always fails on my Droid Turbo, but works on my Nexus tablet. The app is always stuck in landscape mode on my tablet though, which makes it even more difficult to get devices set up, as UI elements don't fit on the screen.
Got into a never ending loop of add device; start thermostat network; connect to thermostat Wifi; configure system; set up App; connect to home Wifi; name; connect to Honeywell; start thermostat network... Occasionally it stopped at connect to Honeywell to say "Device Telemetry Start Error: Thermostat unable to connect to Cloud". It's been did this for five hours, but eventually successfully installed.
I've wasted both time and money on this product. The device itself is great. The app is horrible and like most users stated here impossible to get setup. The funny thing is that I have it setup on my Wi-Fi but it will not register without honneywells involvement. I've spent additional money to have it installed only to find out that It doesn't work with Samsung smart things ( though it was advertised to do so). I'm taking it back this weekend and switching for and ecobee.
Give it one star because there is not a no Star option. Over 2 hours trying to install make-work uninstall make-work uninstall make work on and on this app does not work making a $200 thermostat useless. Tech support said app will not work well with marshmallow "what"!!!? Edit and revise EURICA!!!! Found the solution. Took the Lly-wreck back and exchanged it for an Ecobee3. Within 45 min of opening box the whole system was up and running, auto detected router, and loged in. Simple registeration on app. Off and running.
Fine product. Received the leak alert concerning my WH. Luckily I was home. Was able to shut it off with zero flooding or damage. Just last week we were on vacation- could have been catastrophic! Thanks Lyric!
Serious development needed. The lyric app will drain about half my battery (according to android) in a day. This is consistent across 3 separate phones. The app also randomly signs out of my account which means the push notifications won't work. Also, it rejects valid addresses. I had to enter the same address from my PC. Please fix these things!
The thermostat looks good and it is the only good thing about it. App doesn't work. I spent entire evening trying to connect my phone to the thermostat. I try my wife's phone, even the old phone I had. I used hotspots... Nothing worked. Its a shame Honeywell. I would expect something like this from some Chinese brand but Honeywell.. not good
Initially have this a bad review because I thought it was missing features. Customer support contacted me directly and helped me find the calendar scheduling option! Really happy with this and their support!
Using the leak detector. Good set up. Be sure to register before setting up. Wish they arrived a few days earlier, the hose in the sink faucet failed yesterday. Looking forward to the peace of mind these should provide.
Horrible app. I spent over an hour with 2 phones and a tablet and could not get the thing to work on any of them. I can get to the part where it tries to contact Honeywell then it times out. Our AC guy has installed dozens of these, coincidentally all iPhone users, and he says the iPhone app works great so clearly the Android app was a second thought. What's worse is we have 2 of these in our house and I can't get the stupid app to work with either one. Useless.
This app is worthless. I installed my thermostat six months ago and haven't been able to use the app for about 90% of that time. It keeps losing communication with the thermostat
Thermostat is great....app is terrible. Constantly miscommunicates with thermostat....white screens.....it just doesn't work....and whenever it updates....wont even open. Come on folks...this is 2017....kids can create apps that work better why can't you? App is still a frozen white screen.. ..cant use fan functions at all without the app... Just make it work I don't need to call you nor does anyone else....make it do the things you say it's supposed to do....
I've been on hold for the last 25 minutes to your customer service as I type this. The thermostat shows connected, but the lyric app will not let me finalize the process... It keeps sending me in circles... UPDATE: after being on the phone for over an hour with technical service, they couldn't figure it out. The issue was with the app not working with my wifi. He even had me use my phone as a mobile hot spot to connect with no luck. We've never had an issue with connecting any devices to our wifi. With a 3.2 app rating and all of the other 1 star ratings, I should of went with my gut feeling and not purchased this. It does work on manual mode and looks nice, but I purchased it for the Wi-Fi capabilities and geo fencing. I am returning it today in exchange for something NOT Honeywell.
Can not connect, telemetry start error, can not connect to the cloud keeps showing up. Very frustrating. Will have switch back and read up on others.
App is not intuitive. Randomly switches to away mode making geofencing useless and making home uncomfortable if we're not keeping a close eye on the temp. Fan runs most of the time even when heat or cold isn't on, and even when system is turned off. This thermostat LOOKS slick, but it and the app are anything but. I got it because it's easier to see, but I truly regret not buying the standard Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat I had in my last place. It's not pretty, but it works, and it has an app that makes sense. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of lyric, but the bells are cracked and the whistles are out of tune, forcing me to use the new app like the old one anyway. In anticipation of Hineywell's canned-sounding reply, save it. Just fix your damn app.

App works nice. Wording issues went away with latest update. Also would you nice if it integrated with Honeywell Thermostat app. My Honeywell RTH95080WF1005GG is only a year old and not about to spend another $200 on a Lyric TV just for the new app compatibility. Would also be nice if you could have 1 Honeywell account for all equipment and not 2. Minor improvements could make this 5 stars
