HoneyBadger Firewall for Android
Honeybadger Firewall provides the following features:
- Block/Allow specified applications
- Block/Allow specified IP addresses or domain names
- Block/Allow can be specified for WiFi or Cell network traffic
- Automatically generate rules to block known malicious sites from an online database. You can do this manually by pressing a button, or choose an automatic daily update.
- View log of all network traffic, including whether it was blocked or allowed.
- Export and Import rules from CSV file. This allows you to backup and restore rules or keep all your devices up to date with the same rules.
- Firewall can be enabled or disabled quickly and easily.
*If you have issues on the Apps Tab with the app not responding or locking up your device, check the "Disable Icons" option in the settings. This will significantly reduce the amount of work your device has to do on this tab.
***ROOT IS REQUIRED***
***Requires grep and wget for certain features. You can get these as a part of busybox, which can be installed by apps such as Busybox Installer.***

--Uninstall instructions: go to settings > Disable HB before uninstalling the application. Failure to do so may result in iptables rules being left active.
--This application is not guaranteed to be compatible with other firewall applications, particularly those using iptables.
--Honeybadger Firewall can help protect your device, but we make no guarantees as to the level of protection or safety of your device.
Please developer add the option to block kernel internet connection too.
Works great.
Hoping this would work better than others and wright away busybox was not detected & no apparent way to set correct path. (mentioning a file to edit would have been nice) #2 enabling a link to Download New Rules seems like a security issue. Why not just provide a link to get updated rules if the user would like.
Let "blocked" apps connect except occasionally when it blocked *everything* and forced me to disable it to connect with any app.
Great firewall and simple UI
App has improved a lot, does the job. Needs more obvious whitelist mode. Good replacement for avast, which braked my device seriously.
Its good
Works w no root! !!!!!!!!!! Good firewall
I don't know how to activate it, the instructions aren't clear enough
Dear FJER, Would you please consider porting the HoneyBadger Firewall over to Debian or Ubuntu Linux. I go back and forth between the two distributions. I like how easy your program is to use. I am giving you an opportunity to transfer your program to another operating system. I am also trying to prevent copyright infringements in America. I like the user friendliness of your program, and I think it would be a great improvements to Linux. I currently us Firestarter on my Linux laptop; but Firestarter is currently not being supported. Thank you for your time and for considering my ideas on how to expand the user base of HoneyBadger Firewall.
No complain. I'm new to iptables but this app may simplify. This apps doesn't show current iptables rules, I must see from terminal.
Very good and not as bloated as the other iptables GUIs, but... it doesn't apply the rules after a reboot. Everything works fine until you reboot. Nexus 4 with rooted+busyboxed 4.3 stock.
I'm running HTC evo 4g and when I install this it freezes up my phone. Have to uninstall so my phone will work. When that's fixed I will use this.
Unfortunately it doesn't save the rules, frequently locks up the phone (Samsung Galaxy Proclaim). Makes continual requests for SU (Super User permissions) while other firewalls only make 1 request per use. Also was difficult to un-install.

Work in progress The app looks good, but cannot read existing rules from iptables, which makes migration from droidwall a bit of a pain in the neck. Changing mode from blacklist to whitelist in settings does not change the labels on the rules page, so it is hard to tell by the interface if the mode has changed or not. The blocks work, but there is no obvious and fast way to start/stop the firewall at once. The log showed nothing in my tests. Will definitely keep an eye for future upgrades.
At least it doesn't ask for too many things No complain. I'm new to iptables but this app may simplify. This apps doesn't show current iptables rules, I must see from terminal.

It works great, but the view rules is always empty.
