HondaLink Aha for Android
I have never given a one star review until now. I have never seen a worse designed app. Is Honda even looking at the reviews for their app, or are they too busy kissing apples feet. Wake up Honda, 75% of the world users Android!!
What's the point of this app? What can it do that better then Pandora? I see android user getting screwed again in the app department. Why does Apple gets all the fun stuff? I know this won't get answered, so I'm just wasting my time. This app is getting uninstalled.
This really needs to be updated for the HondaLink Next Generation cars. The description says it only works for HondaLink First Generation cars. Basically, from what I can tell, HondaLink doesn't work for Android devices or Honda has chosen not to properly develop the apps for Android yet. HondaLink apparently works well for Apple devices, but I'm not going to switch to an Apple device just because Honda's support is lacking for Android.
I don't know the point of this app if it doesn't work in my 2017 Accord. I can log into it with the same account if I use on the regular Honda Link app but in my car it tells me my password is wrong. With so many other ways to get music from your phone in the car, I don't see the need for an app exclusively from Honda that sucks and doesn't work.
I would give a 0.5 if I could. This is possibly the worst system that has been invented to ploy an individual into buying something. Not to mention, every commercial and sales person is raving about how great the connectivity is. I have tried 2 different androids and not one of them working with my new vehicle. Complete waste of time, recourses, and effort. Don't even bother.
It says I have an ID but when I say I forgot my password it takes me to register which of course says I already have an ID,,,if you can't even get this right maybe all the negative reviews are accurate. I expect much more from Honda...very surprised and disappointed.
My 2016 Civic has Android Auto - so totally happy with that... but, this app is actually as bad as everyone says it is. In fact I've never gotten it to work. Lame.
The Station List does not display the star in order to set a station as a favorite to make it show up on the car display. Also, the screen won't rotate in the app allowing for the possibility to display the star.
As stated in every single review, this app is completely useless. I feel Honda has cheated me out of additional $$ per month for the upgrade model. Screw you HONDA and screw every single one of your cars.
This app really does nothing and it's description of opening new worlds of information is ridiculous. I have Onstar for my other vehicle and the app is tremendous. I thought Honda could at least match the usefulness of that app but I guess not. Onstar likely has more infrastructure to make all of that functionality possible. No need whatsoever to download this app.
So I bought a 2015 Civic under the impression that I can do all the cool stuff with my Galaxy S5. Turns out the salesman is a liar. Honda will lose a significant amount of customers including myself if they don't get it together.
This thing is a piece of junk. Why Honda decided to offer the Accord with Android Auto and leave Fit owners out in the cold is beyond me. I regret my Honda purchase already and it has only been 2 weeks.
This app is useless and never worked right once with my 2015 Honda Fit EX. Why develop an app that doesn't do anything but take up space on your phone, Honda?
This app used to work fine. However, ever since I got my phone back from repair, the stars for picking favourites so they come up on the display in my vehicle is missing. It's really quite annoying.
Honda's apparently focused ALL their efforts on crApple. None of the "next gen" features appear to be available on Android.
This actually worked for a few days when I first bought my Honda Odyssey a year ago. Not since then. We should consider a class action suit. Does anyone know how to do it?
It freezes every single time I open it and refuses to connect to my car. I really hope Honda does something about it soon bc its a big app on my car.
Honda salesman said my Samsung would work fine in the crv...nope...this app doesn't connect at all...and Pandora will connect, play one song, and disconnect...what is the point of hands free if you have to reconnect to Pandora between every song!
Worthless. If you actually use Aha screen in car, the phone app locks you out, and you can't change station. Other comments suggest that the ability to star favorites in app has long been broken--a requirement to use in car display to change stations.
Main reason I purchased car was for the integration experience and from what I can see, unless it's Apple, I'm screwed. Well, I'm no apple fan, never have been, never will be. Therefore, one year with this New 2015 Civic and I'm done. Trade away!
Honda, you should be embarrassed by this app!!!! If I could go lower than 1 star I would!!! I have a great 7in screen in my car that can barely be used! I'm trying to remember why the Honda salesman told me I could use it with my phone?!?!?
Stick with making cars and leave the software to Android or Apple, that's what you should have done. There is NO SUPPORT for this app after 6.0, can't pick stations to display on car anymore which makes it worthless... Either release some updates or open source this POS so we can fix it!!!
I really liked the app .i wish it would work all the time. I cant select favorites no more :( i dont know what happened. Pls fix it
Cumbersome, plus eats data like crazy even when you are not using it. I had a huge data draw and could not figure it out until I looked in my system. .. I only tried it once in the car for 15 mins....
After having an android phone for years, this is the first app I have ever rated....Only one word can discribe this app....Usless! Not really sure what this app is supposed to do except occupy memory in my phone. Why can't Honda not link to android devices? The salesperson told me all the great connectivity the 2015 CR-V has with smart devices....but didn't disclose that it only connected with Apple devices....less a couple of very basic functions.
Super upset that the new HRV I bought is useless with my Android. Even more upset that your company is dealing with this problem in a completely incompetent manner. I'll end up purchasing a new stereo, but will never buy a Honda again due to the total lack of service and guidance about this issue.
Bought the 2015 Accord thinking this was going to be the icing in the cake. The app works fine, but had ridiculously minimal functionality. I was expecting so much more, the potential is enormous! Why not have connectivity to the Nav system so I don't have to use the cumbersome Honda interface which will lead you to have a crash. Remote capabilities, Pandora integration in Canada, nonexistent. You can do much better Honda, if Dodge can, so can you.
With this deeply stupid and insultingly smug app, Honda has decided to spit on Android users. If you are part of the celestial choir who use iPhones, Honda deigns, out an abundance of corporate noblisse oblige, to accept your $60 Apple love offering and allow you, as one if the chosen ones, to use the iPhone navigation system. For the squalid mass of grunting subhuman Android users, Honda will not sully itself with our money, and bids us be content with this 3rd rate, duplicative streaming app. Uninstalled.
This App is not very good. Regardless of the minimal functionality it does not synch-up with the HU on 1st try, which results in multiple re-tries. This poses a driver distraction and is counter to the hands-free approach being sought. Honda North America needs to take some cues from Honda Japan. At the end of the day, blame the litigious and lawsuit happy people in this country, which forces companies to think about their liability and potential for bogus lawsuits. Either way, this App is ingenuous and a poor showing for a company that has so much more potential. The thing that burns me the most is that Android is slighted and again Apple is given preference.
Just as bad as everyone says, uses data in the background, it's very ugly and pretty useless. AHA is pretty useless also, just Bluetooth connect and use any android streaming app instead.
Honda North America claims to be on the cutting edge of technology. This is a big fat lie! Cutting edge means you are ahead of the competition and “out there” where the “newest and hottest” technology lives. Frankly Honda, you must renounce this claim because you’re not even close to the edge…….more like miles from the edge. Your Audio/Video/Navigation tech is clunky and in need of a big update. This app is an extension of your failure in the care systems. We as your customers live on the cutting edge. We own smart tech that is leaps and bounds ahead of your embarrassingly inadequate tech. We are living in the Star Trek world trying to integrate with your cave man tech. Your competition is putting you to shame and it seems to me your sales staff needs to stop overselling the capabilities of your vehicles. As a 2015 Honda Pilot Touring owner I demand a firmware update………it’s not hard. Just hire people that understand Infotainment, and Interface & Connectivity Apps. If you persist in your cave man approach I suspect many of the people who are loyal to your brand may seek the cutting edge with Chrysler, Ford, Mazda, Nissan or Toyota. Just my opinion.
Now, after reading all these comments, i finally understand why i can't connect Pandora to my Honda Accord, that i just bought a couple of days ago. The salesman did kind of wrap things up fast when it came to hooking up Pandora. I thought maybe he was letting my daughter show me, (she has a Honda, and an iPhone). Within minutes, I already don't like aha. First, I don't want their stations, i want Pandora! I don't like the the Honda Link, forced me into aha. It just started playing on my Samsung
THIS APP IS TERRIBLE, AND YOU SHOULD FEEL TERRIBLE.
What is the point of creating and posting an app that doesn't work. Please create apps that will allow connection to honda link.
I just wanna pay my bill man. I don't want to listen to the 80's band aha. Bunch a dummies..... Deleted!!!
I was told the car system would be upgradeable to Android Auto in the near future for the 2015 Honda Accord. At the very least I had this to fall back on (assuming this would allow some of the same basic functionality). Looks like I was wrong. Never trusting Honda again.
I am not sure what's the purpose of this app, I love my Pilot 2016 and 2 things I disliked about it is one this app and the other funny driver armrest! I was hoping to use my Google maps using the the Android OS on 7 inch screen, but greatly disappointed! Android is super strong and even the most primitive navigation that can be enabled through your phones gps is missing, what a loser!
Honda Link Aha does not work with Android Auto. I had to learn this from Honda Apps Support after my purchase of a 2016 Honda Accord. But nor does Android Auto. Android Auto is a horribly under-developed App that just does not work consistently on Honda Accord. False advertising on the part of Honda, Aha and Google Android. Make sure something works before you sell it.
the terms and conditions page was black lettering on a black background. read the other reviews and decided to not go any further.

The initial setup was not that easy. You have to manually add the stations before you sync to your vehicle, then after a few days you have to sign up online for whatever stations you have. This is kind of a hassle but in my opinion well worth it if you love music but don't like hearing the same songs over and over. I love 90s music and the selection on the stations here beats Pandora hands down. Since adding it I have used it way more than Pandora.
