Doesn't work remotely with cellular data network on android phone. It's kind of defeat the purpose of having home automation and this app. They should fix it. You have to find a WiFi hotspot to be able to remote in.

Just did the last update (9Mar16) and it seems to have ironed out the problems we were having. As long as it contiues to work, i will give it more stars. Just thankful that they do respond to the needs of users. Thank you!

App can't find local system. 3rd update in 3 weeks finally works. 2 stars for not working for 3 weeks. If you are a little familiar with networks you can find what this app needs for system name and password. Look on your router for the IP address of the G Controller on your network (HCXX). Type the IP address into a browser and the Elan controller will give you on option to install a viewer on your PC or MAC. Install the viewer and it should give you the system name. Type this in the android app. The factory PW is 1234 unless it was changed by your installer.

Big shout out to the developers. After emailing them to let them know my device was not worked following the last update they work with me to resolve the issues! Whoever knew they was actually someone "behind the curtain" that would actually care and correct the problem. Way to go team!

Will not connect to server at all wont even start. Ver7.3

New 7 states "could not locate controller" & we no longer have the option to select to connect locally or remotely. When inside we prefer to use our wifi & connect locally. But we connect remotely for all sorts of functions when away from home.

My g! Is not working on my nexus 5x . I am facing this problem since 1 day.

Guys, this app should be easy for people to use. Today I've got clients calling asking why they can't login to their local system anymore, and to have them add it by scanning the network isn't working either, cannot click on the "scan logo" because it doesn't show up, then when you click on the area, it takes you to next page, but won't let you save the local system. The "save" button is greyed out. Just this morning ibhad a working version, then after a second update later today, it doesn't work.

I have had this app installed on my Nexus devices since September of 2014. For the most part, it does what it is supposed to do, which is control your media, climate, lighting, etc, but I have a minor quibble: It logs out of the system when the app isn't in use, instead of running in the background. The app was updated on 02/22/2016, and ever since, I get a blank screen, so I haven't been able to access the system at all. The problem seems to be Nexus specific. Fix it, please, Elan!

A few glitches with version 6.x core software and no options for downgrading to version 6 app? Update: Now latest update doesn't work at all with my Rev 6 system! It connects, then keeps reconnecting. Gah! Update 2: problem seems to be with phone version. Tablet version much improved and seems stable.

I like the app overall but wish it read .m3u files instead of having to create playlists from scratch. Add that in and it's 5 stars for me. UPDATE: latest version broke and the system won't communicate with the app.

Had to uninstall and reinstall to login. Now that I can log in I can't click on anything without it logging out. Can't use!

Solid System

Wtf. The client logs in then immediately logs out in an endless loop. I can sometimes get a glimpse of my main menu but if I try to touch anything I'm automatically logged out

I used to have no problems with this app, however the last download has basically rendered my app useless. It is laggy, often unresponsive, and quite often won't perform the requested command. The most frustrating thing is now when using the app on my phone if I click on a tile for media or climate in a specific zone/room the selections will "slide" to the next zone over and won't let me select the one I want. I find it fixes it however if I rotate my phone to landscape mode. Figure that one out.

Extremely hit and miss. Unfortunately the home automation required this otherwise would have deleted this app long ago. Wrong TV switches on, unable to change channels, now the speaker playing up. Have tried Android and iOS apps. Sort it out guys.

The elan's g! system is just awesome!

Used to work well, but no longer allows me to view my cameras remotely. Works fine when local. App buttons don't respond after a few seconds of trying to connect. I tired clearing cache and reinstalling. Using Samsung Galaxy S5.

Just got the latest update and it crashes often. Much less stable than the previous version. Doesn't appear to have been tested well before release. I'm running kitkat on a Samsung Galaxy S5.

Not working properly with my moto G 2nd gen !!! Sometimes the app is connected to the system sometimes stays at searching and never connects , I must start up another application and then the ELAN G app connects !!

My whole house is wired through Elan and works fantastic on Samsung galaxy S couldn't ask for better system

Works great on local but not on remote. I have galaxy note 2 c at&t

Works as it should on my config. Have not tried the messaging app yet. Should make the back button take you back one screen, not back to logon screen.
