Hex Pirate is a lightweight, easy-to-use Hex-, Binary-, Octal- & ASCII-Reader (Editing functions coming soon) for Android.

Trying to search for certain hex codes can be an absolute pain. It only allows you to type in up to 2 digits rather than the whole code! Please do yourself a favor and download a different hex veiwer/editor.

For some reason, I have to read a huge list of numbers in a light blue text on a white background with no indication of my location within the file other than 'page x of y' - watching the original 'The Thing' for the first time was a less terrifying experience.

I really like the ability to change between ASCII, Hex, Binary and Octal. But the app really needs multi-byte select, edit and search as well as copy and paste before it will be useful to me. I don't really like the paging either. I suggest the dev looks at HxD for windows as the model good hex editor.

Why do you need network access for?? This app just only read files in the phone/ external storage. THEN WHY? Give me a reason or else don't put unnecessary permission. Will give more rating if you give me a good reason or remove the permission.

Being familiar with hex code from prior class experience, Hex Pirate is a great app for reading the .so android libraries. Very useful when trying to port applications. Props to the developer for the Douglas Adams reference.
