Hohner Learn to Play the Blues

Only slightly useful for even a beginner like myself. There is virtually no content to this app. I would hesitate to give it more than one star even if it were free, but to actually charge for this app while giving the impression that it is a useful learning tool is borderline fraud.

Honestly disappointed in Hohner on this one. The info in this app is pretty much useless to anyone. Half of which they give you in the pamphlet which come with one of their harmonicas. There are a few jam tracks but they re pretty weak. Im quite supprised that Hohner and Seydel dont have good apps available. I bought it just out of curiosity but if you are new to harmonica stick with you tube. Sorry, But its your best option.

I think someone at Hohner said, "we need an app!" and they put together some window dressing. As a free app I suppose it's be fine, though it teaches very little and misses a couple key points anyone would need to learn even the basics. Save your money.

Don't buy this app. It's not worth it, unless you like wasting your money.

There's only three riffs to learn from this app. Complete garbage. Not worth a penny.

Great tool Needs more licks

This app can give a beginner a good start without having to sight read music. It give you three simple licks to play that, when strung together, can form the basis of a full 12 bar blues (basically Muddy Waters' classic "I'm a Man"). After that, there's a "Jam" area with 8 pre-recorded tracks that you can practice over. The "Live Harp" feature either doesn't work on my phone or I haven't figured out the purpose of it yet. Ok for a couple of bucks. But, don't expect anything more than a simple starting point.

Does not give the needed instructions for a beginner harpist. Back to Google and YouTube I go. If only I could give a half star rating.

There is nothing to this app. Truly a waste of time by the creator

The three riffs to learn for a 12 bar is good. Everything else is mediocre, live jam does not work. But I would suggest it to a novice, it gives you a taste of the fun...

This was really cool until I realized it only taught me about 12 seconds of notes.

I can't believe how little there is to this app. The actual lessons (three of them) are short and pitifully presented. This should be free, and even then I would only give it three stars.

Just got a hohner harmonica for christmas and saw this app advertised in the literature. I'm a beginner and I thought this app might be useful to help me learn. It shows you how to play 3 "licks" and I would say there must be a better way to depict them. I think I got all I'm going to get out of this app in 10 minutes.
