MetroHero: WMATA DC Metrorail for Android
Amazing app that provides all the info WMATA doesn't when something inevitably has its daily breakdown. Best feature is seeing the relative locations of all trains on the line.
I love the live updates of where my train is exactly. This is especially helpful when they are working on updating the trains. If I miss my train I can see how long it will take to catch the next one or if I should try another line.
Accurate, give more info than other app.
Great App helping manage a trip on the Metro showing real time train details.
Good for MetroRail. I'd love it if it included Metrobus as well.
I use it everyday to get to work.
An absolute must when trying to survive WMATA's Safe track calamity. Too bad this app can't run metro, or do anything about the rider mortality rate.
It told me that a trip from Metro Center to Rosslyn was invalid and there are no safetrek surges effect in that part of the truck right now. The wmata website shows that it would be just fine and was able to load it properly.
Takes a lot of pain out of the Metro experience.
Great app that keeps me informed of metro schedules without hassle
Awesome app I check it every morning and evening before heading to the metro. Thanks for your awesome work everyone
Great app! A must-have for anyone using Metro!
Simple, reliable, and as accurate in its predictions as WMATA's data will allow. It isn't a general transit app like others (i.e., no info on buses or any other services beyond Metrorail), but it's the best at what it does.
Nobody does the DC metro commute better than MetroHero. Being able to actually SEE where my train is means EVERYTHING.
MetroHero yet it tells me to split my trip into separate lines. I don't know the Metro system. Kinda useless to have a trip planner that can't plan a trip.
Absolutely THE app to have when riding WMATA. Provides updated info much more reliably than WMATA's official channels.
My work takes me to Germany on occasion, and this app has features that rank right up there with European systems, when it comes to train information. Well done!
I have only used the app a couple of times, but so far it has been more accurate than the metro station signs!
This app has the most comprehensive information available on the DC Metro. Highly reccommended for commuters but way more information than is neccesary for Tourists to DC.
The best app for DC metro rail. It's a must have for riders.
If you ride the metro you must have this app.
Best metro app out there!
This app is wonderful keeps u updated about everything going on with metro.
Needs advance scheduling functionality. Google Maps achieved this.
Amazing and easy to use
Super accurate. I love this app
Awesome, very useful app.
Excellent live map!
Great resource for visitors.
the best
I do like this app, very useful, convenient and amazing! If sometimes it does not have information, shame on Metro only!
The very best app to have if you plan to use the DC metro system. Simply amazing, very very good work!
Only used for couple of days was a great BENEFIT!!
Amazingly accurate
Best app around for following wmata trains. The "experimental" bus tracking is very accurate for the routes I utilize. You must consider the real-time bus status to be 1 stop delayed depending on the traffic situation.
This app is ok. Live maps and zoomable map are excellent. Estimates on times of arrival for trains at mid-line stations are usually pretty good. Specific departure times for terminal stations are pretty much always wrong (though I'm not sure if the app or WMATA is to blame for that). Also, they used to have shortcuts to your most recent stations on the main screen. That was really convenient, especially if you mainly use the metro for commuting, and always use the same stations, but for some reason, they took away that functionality. Trip planer is virtually worthless. It'll give you a rough time estimate if your origin and destination are on the same line, but if you need to transfer to another line or a bus, forget it. Luckily, the one on the website actually fills that gap quite nicely.
This is the one app that has real life, real time DC Metro data. Took off one star because it would be nice if the saved trips feature could support line transfers some day.
Will not provide ANY info on saved trips - just see little spinning circle in top right corner. I have a new S7... with lots of RAM. Installed, reinstalled. Restart... nothing "heroic" about this app for me.
Love this app, much better & useful than other metro apps. But-after an update the lines are now flipped top to bottom, any option to flip them back? For instance-blue line starts with Largo at the top of the screen & you have to scroll to the bottom to get to F/S. It was the opposite before, which I loved, as I live near that end of the line. Scrolling down to the bottom every single time I want to use it is a bit annoying. Please add an option for what direction to start lines on your screen!!

This is one of the most useful Metro apps out there, if not the most useful. The one quibble I have with it is that it periodically will not register the thumbs up or down that you input.
