Amino Acids: Biochemistry

This amino acid app for biochemistry is designed to help you memorize the 20 most common amino acids, their structure and side-chain class. It is based on the reflective practice method of learning combined with a modified random quiz system and analytics.

FEATURES OF AMINO ACIDS APP

1. Choose short (15Q) or longer (30Q) quizzes in different categories. The short quizzes can be completed in about a minute and, as your amino acid memories strengthen in 20 to 30 seconds.

5. A clues slide bar in each quiz to assist if unsure of the answers, default is hidden.

6. Quiz randomness has been modified to maximize learning in several ways. For example, once you have correctly answered twice it will no longer ask that question again in that quiz attempt.

7. Feedback within the quiz if you have answered incorrectly.

8. Analytics to help you monitor your progress in memorizing the amino acids. Your scores are saved and plotted on a line graph, together with time taken, if clues were used, time and date. There is also a bar graph which displays your daily high, low and average scores. 42 quiz attempts in each category (6) can be saved.

9. Once installed you can practice offline.

TRAINING: Start with short quizzes of 15 questions for 5 to 10 minutes. To begin with, focus on accuracy and later speed as well. Statistical analytics will assist you to monitor your progress and help you optimize your learning habits.

As your accuracy and speed of recall improves, stronger amino acid memories are formed. Once you have achieved a high accuracy with fast recall, test yourself again after a gap of a few days, a week or a month to see if you have formed long-term memories and also to refresh your memory.
